Yes, now you can enjoy Safari in Windows Mobile, the same browser that iPhone has, here side by side comparison (here: desktop version of CNN website in HTC Touch Diamond and in Apple iPhone 3G):
http://x.msmobiles.com/portal/images/other/iris-for-windows-mobile.jpg
In reality the truth is a bit different: Torch Mobile company has released a beta version of their Iris for Windows Mobile that uses Webkit rendering engine - an open source project of Apple - the very same that Safari for iPhone is using. You can download it in beta version here:
http://www.torchmobile.com/download
More information about Iris:
Iris Browser™ for Windows MobileŪ 5 & 6 is now available for free download! Simply register with us by providing your name and contact information and download the CAB to your PC or directly to your phone. Then follow along as Torch Mobile makes regular improvements to the browser, adding new features, making it faster, and generally improving the user experience.
Please remember that this is early preview software
Our impressions: it is rendering web pages exactly the same as Safari for iPhone but is slower, what may change after final version will be relesaed.

Any further Notes? I Just hardresetted and reinstalled my Vario. Don't want a buggy app to destroy this harmony :D
Actually i'm using the Opera Beta... Does it use the "double tap to overview" mode like opera does? This feature i'm missing the most in other apps.
Better? Worse? ;)

Found it very sluggish on my Kaiser. Some very obvious things missing:
1. No direct input for a URL. Why go via their start page (money?)
2. No automatic page overview (a la Opera Mini/Safari) when you first go to a website.
I will keep an eye on it as I think it could develop into a very good browser. Let's face it, Internet Explorer is hardly competition these days!

Aw... just tried it now :D
Feels very similar to opera, with some more (nice?) effects... doubletap is also enabled....
Plus: Easy to use, you can activate a virtual mouse cursor and scroll via D-Pad, built in traffic counter
Minus: but in the whole it feels a little slower and takes more RAM. Scrolling isn't that smooth.
Just my opinion after 5 minutes testing.

People! People! Those misleading headlines from msmobiles.com don't have to follow us to XDA-Developers! Safari?! I expect to see something smarter in the development forum. Just say a WebKit-based browser or something of that sort.
I'm sorry, but I was annoyed by the repeated inappropriate titles by msmobiles and now they're here.

Works fine even on WM6 standard, just tried it in my HTC Vox, however it's slow... Maybe it runs better on 400 Mhz & faster devices?
The visual history is cool though, reminds me of the browser that was in my Nokia N73, it looked better in N73 though.
Also the mouse cursor is very handy.
An annoying thing is that it uses the same cache as IE, the browser installs fine on the storage card but it very quickly eats up a lot of the phone storage while browsing...
There should be an option to turn off all the transition effects, it's nice eye candy but I guess disabling it could improve performance a bit.

This is one slow browser! Slower than PIE. Has alot of catching up to be like safari or Opera Mobile.

sorry but i still can't find a browser which stands up to NetFront 3.5 considering the speed, the comfortness and the fact that it supports loads of languages.

Can netfront download anything?

I second NetFront 3.5, it's been a topnotch browser for me, and I've tried em all. Opera is good but web pages doesn't look as good as in NetFront. The ONLY thing I wish NetFront had, and correct me if I just missed something, is the initial Overview when entering a page, like OperaMini for instance. So you'd see the whole page instead of Zoom as default.

Yes, you can download files and it's actually very comfortable. you click on a zip file for instance and it just asks you where to save it.. main memory or storage card and in which dir.

There are many viewing and zooming options in this browser.. i didn't check if you can get a full page view as default... but you CAN get a fullpage view by double clicking the screen so you can choose which part of the screen you want to zoom in on.
wonderful app in my eyes.
this is it, by the way:

I'm in the NetFront 3.5 camp as well. Nothing I have tried has been as nice to use as NetFront. I've tried all of the new iterations of Opera, and none of them are as fast and intuitive as NF.
I'm even using it now to make this reply.
The momenum scrolling is great, and the only real issue I have with it is the ''out of memory'' errors that I get when loading large graphics-heavy pages.

TSK TSK.. I was browsing the forum till i got to see this headline.
IMMEDIATELY I thought to myself wow sounds JUST LIKE something out of msmobiles...
Well, im not surprised to find out this actually did come from them.
We don't need this sensationalist CRAP. I avoid msmobiles at ALL COSTS, Their stories are SO unprofessionally written they are LAUGHABLE. Seriously, its SO BAD it makes my eyes hurt.
Im serious. Go to their website all you will see is "ZOMG MICROSOFTZ IZ NEGLECTING WINDOWZ MOBILE SILVERLIGHT TILT SENSORZZZZZ ZOMG SYMBIAN IPHONE"
My God, mods please lock this thread. =(

Netfront guys; How do I get it to be seen a full fledged browser and not a mobile browser? Sites constantly force their mobile versions on (Google, iGoogle, CNN, etc.) when I really want to see their full versions. I didn't see a setting to alter how the browser is seen by web sites it visits. Thanks.

As do I. All I can think of is to check Tools>Browser Settings>Browser View and make sure that Browsing Mode is set to, ''Full browsing".

It is set as full and I can't get it to show iGoogle full version to save my life. Just mobile. I was able to force full CNN finally but iGoogle and gMail is still stumping me.
Edit: No matter what I do with Google it puts a /m at the end of the URL. I can actually see the browser change the address on me. I can do nothing with Google that isn't converted to mobile. I don't get it. I use google a lot too so this is a deal killer.

I wish I could help more. It works perfectly on my 8525, and I just did a fresh install on my Tilt and it goes straight to all of the normal Google pages without any setting changes at all.

Try to delete cookies, and change browsing mode. i noticed there are a few probs.. try using regedit and go to HKCU\Software\Access\Netfront\settings (or something like that) and edit browsingmode... i didn't try it but it might help.

Honestly, this was damn slow on my touch cruise. I loaded Cnet.com and it took a really long time before I gave up and closed the browser. Opera rocks when it comes to browsing non-streaming media....skyfire rocks when it comes to browsing streaming content. Plus like everybody else already said it, the topic headline is misleading.

I find nothing faster than NF 3.5 faster in simple browsing mode, but iris is pretty quick over wifi, and it renders much better than NF and opera in their desktop modes. nf has some issues for me on text entry boxes, lose focus and it dbl renders the text in a blue overlay. opera doesn't allow me to enter text on one or two forums.
so far I like this, been using it since .11 its getting better

It runs on my WM5 Wizard perfectly (along with the better easier tabs netfront 3.5).:)
P.S. The title of what I quoted was "Only WM6?".
