In a response to question One...
GPRSMonitor by SPB is a good product to measure the data usage - cheap too. There are others but not recall the names.

To replace either of the softkeys:
" In a registry editor, go to:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/
Here is:
HomeLSKPath, which is the left softkey (Standard = Phonepad)
And
HomeRSKPath, which is the right softkey.
If you change these with the location of the programs you want to link to, and simultaneous change the names:
HomeLSKText = Left softkey text
And
HomeRSKText = Right softkey text." http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2457195 shonan70

1. Take a look at the CD that came with your phone, it includes SPB GPRS Monitor.
And Ramzidk, that's not what he was asking. That's to replace the softkeys on the home screen, not on the phone screen.

These are my thoughts/experience with GPRS monitor (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2511647&postcount=5) - so I assume from your comments you are using it - if so, would you mind confirming that it does or does not constantly use CPU time, which obviously has a detrimental effect on battery life? I'd like to know if it's just me that is having the issue on the diamond, although I know others have reported problems on other devices....

Since the change to my tariff to include unlimited data and the moved to the diamond for my trinity I have not used any of my spb products - although when in use I did not notice much difference to the life of my battery.
Perhaps later, if I have time, I will install this and see what you mean.:D
