I have a t-mobile wing. After flashing open touch v3.0 biggy (which I love, thank you ttran) to my device, my wifi will not turn on. I try to select wifi in comm manager and it remains off.
I have searched multiple forums relating to this problem. I have even called t-mobile technical support. Nobody seems to have an answer.
If anyone knows how to solve this problem, I would greatly appreciate some help...

im not sure which comm manager you have but here is what you do for 10 button one
"6. HTC 10-Button Comm Manager.cab – HTC 10 Button Comm Manager
- Step 1: Copy to the phone and run it.
- Step 2: (Fixing WLAN button malfunction, somehow it doesn’t work by default on Wing): **Thanks for beowulf6’s post for this fix.
Change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC \CommManager \WLAN= "Windows WLanMgr.exe " "DeviceName" = "{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006} TNETW12345"
the end of this long String is the WLAN-Adaptername of the Device.
just change in this Example "TNETW12345" into "TNETWLN1"
-Step 3: (Fixing Wi-Fi setting launch issue) **Thanks for phatman81’s post for this fix.
Change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\ Default:"
\Windows\WlanMgr.exe --> \Windows\ctlpnl.exe"

Thank you so much for your quick response. I went to edit the registry, but all of my settings were already set to the specifications as described in your instructions. I am lost. My WIFI just won't turn on... I select it, it pauses for a moment, and then never turns on. Are there parameters that i should be setting for the chip itself??

I would either try reflashing, or flash to the original tmobile rom to make sure it's not a hardware problem.

Well... Thank you all for your help. I took my phone to a T-Mobile store today and they have concluded that my hardware is damaged and I have to replace my phone. So ,chances are, if you are having this exact issue, then you have damaged your hardware.

I'm having the same problem with my wifi, it'll come-up for 2 secs and then it'll go away as if the hardware is failing to initialize. I'm sure it's the same issue as the corrupt eeprom from re-flashing too much and no1 from this forum has posted any solution. Did you have to pay anything when you got your tmo-wing replaced?

that didn't fix it, when I turn wlan on the very first time, it will do a clicking sound for mayb 10 secs, then if I look at SDIO WLAN on the network adapters IP address, it has gargbage where normally it should say "not connected".

I was having the same issue (at least I think anyway). i would go into the comm manager, and select wifi button, and it would highlight green for a sec then nothing. I went in to the registry settings, and changed the default as it said to, but the devicename was already right. i then tried the wifi again and nothing. So I went to start-settings-connections-wireless lan, and turned on the wifi that way. It worked, and now i can select the wifi on or off via the comm manager. Maybe it just needed a jumpstart...
Thank You!
