For folders - I don't know.

You do get the question, during initial (first-time) boot, if you want to encrypt.
I guess, you could reset the device (erasing ALL data) and choose encryption at that point, instead of choosing "skip"

...entcryption is not the feature he wants!

Entcryption: When eg the memory card will be stolen (I know the diamond has no card) that the whole datas on it will be useless!

By definition a file/folder has to be encrypted in order to protect it with a password otherwise it would be possible to access the file via alternative means and bypass the protection.

Whilst not freeware, but offering lots more features besides, I can recommend Resco Explorer (http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/) which allows you to protect files in this manner using a choice of encryption methods. I'm not sure if it can protect folders (I suspect not).

Exactly! Read up a bit on the issue security before stating s..... things like encryption is not what is wanted.
What would be the point of password protection or similar, if you could just hook it up on USB and read your stuff anyway ?
Encryption uses password as the "key" to decrypt (or other means, like biometric, RSA tokens on ordinairy PC's).

Like posted, try 3rd party software like any suggested. Or hard-reset phone and use WM6 build in during initial setup.
