Very nice....Does the case come with a clip, or is it just a "plain" case?.......:D Man now I wish I lived across the pond ;)....

It's just a plain case; no clip. But the phone is a pretty good fit for a trouser pocket (feels noticeably heavier than my old Touch Cruise, but as it is smaller overall, it is less obtrusive).

It fits a shirt pocket fine, but it doesn't look exactly elegant.

Is this a case? Can you make more prictures with a bit more light of it?
Is it any good? What material?

Yes it is not locked to any network. I will be using it with T-Mobile.

I bought it from DeviceWire; total cost was GBP 531.38

Can you make a hands on video? Is the TF3D faster than diamond's TF3D?

Just got mine too from Inkino.

Have you tried connecting yours to Wi-Fi yet? I mine doesnt seem to be connecting and I've got the settings right and added it to the MAC filter. Weird.

Yup, mine's working now. I think my router just had a mare.

The screen on this thing (and therefore the Diamond too) is stunning. I've set the text size to the smallest possible and it's still readable. Just awesome!

He says £539.99 but you could haggle that down a bit to come into line with online prices.

I dunno, the Kaiser is still about £450 a year on.

I have used Sony Ericsson for most of time and its alarming how the rates depreciate in a few months.

I think these WinMo devices tend to remain high priced for longer.

I paid £535, but my haggling skills are poor when I really want something, and there were only three left in the store.

Can Raphael record phone calls (both sides) without use speaker with software like Audio Notes or Resco Audio Recorder? Thanks

I don't think that has been possible on HTC devices, and it does not work on the Diamond so I wouldn't hold my breath.... :(
My good ol' Siemens SL-45 from 2000 used to do it, best phone I had!

That sheet of plastic must be what the manual mentions as "screen protector". It is much larger than the screen. How is it supposed to be used?

Regarding the Euro device on one of the other unboxings I saw an FCC logo under the battery. Could someone with the Euro version of this phone please look under the battery and report the Model ID (which I'm guessing is RAPH100) and the FCC ID associated with it? My guess is its the NM8RPLV, however, if someone could please confirm I would appreciate it.

There's an actual screen protector which has a cutout for the earpiece and the front facing camera. It is on a larger backing sheet. It's actually quite a good screen protector, not like the sticky old ones, this is more like the stiffer Brando style ones.

So far, I really like this phone, out of the box I had a couple of problem with the Wi-Fi and the GPS but they resolved themselves. TouchFlo3D feels generally very smooth (occassional hiccup but I can live with that). I have not applied any tweaks or installed any software other than the follow:

Copilot Live 7
MoDaCo CamerAware
MoDaCo AppToDate
Google Maps (installed as part of the initial customisation process when you turn the device on)

The FM radio is pretty cool, I'm using the HTC RC W100 headset and it seems to work fine, though reception can get sketchy depending on what's around you.

The screen is absolutely fucking gorgeous and the user interface is very good. I just wish could have skinned/rewritten a few more of the applications like the message composer/viewer and calculator (come on HTC, how hard would it have been to make a skin for this?).

The on screen keyboards/pads are pretty good but with it being a Pro, I will use the hardware keyboard more.

3G reception is a bit on and off sometimes not sure what the issues, I think it might be network related rather than device. Also I've found that applications sometimes dont initiate a data connection when required. I have not managed to narrow down why/when this happens but I've definitely noticed a couple of times in Opera when trying to access a site without a connection already active, a new connect is never made. It's odd. Also sometimes when this happens, the whole device grinds to a halt. Not sure what the issue is here, definitely a ROM or device problem IMO though. Opera seems to be a bit slow to render pages, even over Wi-Fi, not sure what the issue is here.

Other than that, loving it. Great device.

My UK version is indeed RAPH100 and FCC ID is NM8RPLV.

Why the interest? Does the FCC ID confirm whether the hardware is or isn't usable on US networks or something?

Guys,

After your review, I am keen to upgrade my HTC Tytn II with Touch Pro. But only one concern.

I use TomTom 6 alot on my Tytn II and it works like charm. Can anybody guide me how is the performance of GPS in Touch Pro (With TomTom if possible). Is it better or atleast equivalent to Tytn II.

Thanks for the help......

I have tomtom 6 running on the Pro and it's flawless, trust me you won't be disappointed ;) I used to use a Navman dedicated satnav system, but since getting the touch pro I was so impressed with it that I've given the Navman to my parents cos I'll never need to use it again!
