newbie: question about rom update

Hi,

I want to update my traditional Chinese ROM for HTC Touch Dual to English. But i'm a newbie, so i'm a bit cautious to get started.

my question is, will i be able to get my phone to its original state using the hard reset button on the back of my phone? will i lose all my programs if i perform a hard reset?

also, when i "flash my rom" will i have all the programs that originally came with my phone (ex: IE, office mobile, java engine, games, voice commander, touch flo, etc etc that was preloaded when i first turned on my phone)

First you should read this forum post very very very good.

after that you should read the rest of the forum about all the different roms out at the moment. Some are Stock roms others are modified roms.
You can if HardSPL went wel install any rom you like.
