HELP PLEASE.
I hard reset my WING and soft reset to get rid of all the tmobile stuff that was using up all memory. the short version of the story is that I had to re-install the OZ cab file (thanks to the guy/girl that posted it).
But everytime I try to connect to OZ, I get 2 text messages sent to my phone it reads....."WV11DI SI=370ubecgCubAWK7D2kDhyIhK0BgZRS.Q92ZfxImnPkppYg-- ST=(601,"Forced Logout")"

PLEASE HELP. I tried uninstalling/soft rest/installing 3 times

Hi all, I've searched the forum (maybe not thorough enough), but can anyone verify if the Rogers ROM includes OZ Messenger?

I've also searched for alternatives, but nobody seems to know of or can find an SMS based messenger (not data).

Stock Rogers ROM does not include it.

Does the Rogers ROM work with OZ Messenger? I read there's working OZ Messenger on the new HTC ROM.

Thanks for the answer to the first question.

Can't you just just copy the program folder on a regular dash and put it on a htc flashed dash? Has anybody tried that? I'm willing to upload the folder with the program if it helps someone find out.
edit: Here is the folder anyway.

Ok, so here is the extracted OZ Messenger, but it is the version for the PPC. The Smartphone one should be posted sometime this weekend or early next week......

Was checking to see if smartphone version was posted yet.

The reason I am looking for OZ is on t-mobile it uses SMS so I am constantly connected.

Unless I am wrong, good chance, most of the other programs out there use data connection, which is dropped on the dash when making a phone call, so with OZ I am always connected.

uses SMS

The only people that would use this program is the one that is paying for unlimited txt or else its gonna cost them.

There has to be a prog out there that uses data and doesn't disconnect when making/receiving a call.

I have unlimited texting and I still wouldn't use this program. For some reason, it creates a new group in my with the same SNs and it doesn't include all the contacts. I was a big fan of Agile Messenger until they got greedy. I want something that connects to all my IM accounts at once. Haven't found anything free and worthwhile yet.

okay...so I copied the whole folder (unzipped) into program files and then clicked on the exe it opened fine...asked for user name and password...it goes out seems to be doing something as I get text msgs saying it cannot connect, then even got a text message saying successful...BUT the screen of OZ shows like it is still trying to connect. Not sure where it is going wrong.

Wow, you don't wanna google and really didn't read the post at all, huh? The poster specifically said he has a Dash and selected the SDA/Tornado and it worked for him. And it also worked for me. So far works pretty well, the interaction (multiple convos) is similar to Agile. Sucks that it's Java so entering text is that ridiculous multi-click process and for some reason they made "Template" the default rather than "OK" to send your message. Can't beat free, though.

Mybe I am stupid, but I just can't find this model :)

The difference is that when you post on a forum like this, you can find what programs people actually use, and can find people who have already built experience off of many different products.

When googling, you can find software; sure. But asking people what they find as the _best_ software is more valuable - even if they just post the name of the software and nothing more.

I dunno.

One thing I noticed with Palringo and the Tzones plan was after adding the proxy in the registry in order to login to Palringo you need to browse to a site in PIE then jump over to Palringo and login. After that it runs just fine. It's damned quick too! pics and voice.

Very neat program.

OZM uses text msg. Given the $0.15 oer msg rate I will go bankrupt really fast. :)

Palringo works after the proxy hack. Is there a way to close offline messeges all at once? I got a dozen after login, and had to open them one by one to dismiss.

.PoNeH
2nd April 2008, 12:51 AM
OZM is fine for my needs as I have the Unlimited Txt Message plan but one thing I don't like is the fact that you can't connect to multiple services at once. Any other, hopefully free or cheap, alternatives out there that will work with the hack? I don't care if it uses SMS as long as it connects to multiple services at once and is easily navigable.

Yeah, I've configured the settings. I didn't mess with the proxy though. From what I understand, you only alter it if you're running the $5.99 internet plan. I have the T-Mobile Total Internet ($19.99 plan).

I would have to agree with djquick. I myself tend to use Opera Mobile and Opera Mini. I use Opera Mobile for the "full" experience, and if I need something quick (like directions, operating hours, etc) then I use Opera Mini because of its speed. Just play around with some and see what you like! :)

Hello all, This is my first post on this forum. I'm what you call a silent reader and will read a lot of posts to find a solution to any problem. The reason why I don't post on forums is because there are too many people out there that will critic for any little thing. I really don't have time for it and would just rather try to fix the problem on my own. So anyway, the OZ Instant messenger that I have on my phone was actually downloaded from here and cannot remember from who? I apologize to whomever you are, but thank you.

I'm using the same program. Here's an update on the problem. Went I try to sign on OZ without internet connection I cannot get connected to AIM. However, when I do have internet connection I can sign on just fine. The problem is (If I remember correctly) with the original T-mobile ROM I was able to connect without having internet connection. I would like to know how to get this feature back.

Look under my signature and set up the tzones and internet and you can fix the message. Open that link up in my signature below ok. You will need to configure MMS, tzones, and internet. Okay and then it should work fine.

Are you using the newest rom the 6.1 or the 6.0 rom. Ummm did you go through everything to try to configure the oz messenger and let me ask are you a tmobile user or another service provider user?

Has anyone gotten Windows Live to work on Ricky's vanilla rom? According to his instruction - we simply need to copy the files to the appropriate folders (eg. application data\home; windows), and then create the shortcuts using the CCS file. However, on running Messenger shortcut, I see my cursor changed briefly, then nothing happens. It doesn't even appear on the CeleTask task list after.

You have to uninstall the application. Then reinstall OZ IM on your device instead of the storage card.

i get a text message giving me the error "4670 Error invalid number. please resend..." when ever i try to sign on...

and it was already on my device.. imma uninstall and reinstall it again...

Edit: yea it didnt work...

KDKobes
17th May 2008, 08:46 PM
I am guessing the rest of the error is this exactly 4670 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number CORRECT?

Like stated previously usually this error appears when you install the CAB to your storage card it NEEDS to be on the DEVICE. Now if its not on your storage card, then make sure you have a DATA plan w/AT&T that has messaging included. Next make sure its connecting to MediaNet connection, I would install AT&T settings cab which can be found in my signature.

es_bih

You also have to make sure that you delete everything off of your program files folder oz related from the storage card before reinstalling.

Well thx.. but its still not working for me.

I hav the Data plan for at&t

I installed ur At&T settings.cab and I uninstalled and reinstalled OZ messenger back onto my Device(once again), there is only one version rite, does it matter if it has T-mobile in the front where u choose ur service?

it was on media.net setting in the AT&T GPRS,
i tried both in the SMS settings, GPRS and GMS, when GPRS it says communcations error pleace try again or check your settings. and when i use GMS it gives me the Text message.

For some reason, I had too many problems downloading OZ Messenger to Kavana's 6.1. I just gave it up and tried Palringo. It's great. It has a sleek interface and allows you to run all the major (Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ, etc.) IM software programs.

Listen to Es_bih I just had the same exact problem I I flashed Kavana's rom installed OZ Messenger to storage card and everytime I tried to connect I would get text messaages and connection failed. I uninstalled it and thought hmmm lets try installing to device cause I remembered reading somewhere that some programs trip if there installed on your storage card. Sure enough it worked right out of the gate. so try what he said he knows what he is talking about.:D

All my other programs work fine on the storage card. OZ however, is a device native application and aside integrated to connect via your network as it uses sms. I am guessing that that is the reason. It probably cannot set itself, and since you really have no options of connection settings that is the only avenue I know to get it to work. For At&t there may be a natwork specific version available through the oz website. i know there is a Tmo version, etc.

I installed the .cab for the OZMessenger. It installed fine and the icon appears in my Start menu just as it did in the previous WM6.0 ROM. The problem is: when I load the program, it takes forever and then it always shows "Communication Error". Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

After about 4 hours of staying up all night trying to find the "right" tmobile oz cab file to download, I finally figured out what I believe most of us have all been doing wrong!

Ok when you first begin installing the file into your mobile device, it gives you a choice of where to save the program to:
1) device
2) storage (memory card)
3) Bluetooth

I finally realized that the only way to get it to work is to save it to the device, nothing else! I am almost willing to bet my $600 HTC Tilt that all of you have been trying to save the file to the memory card because duuhhh, it saves space on the phone, helping it stay responsive and quick.

The clue that tipped me off was the two forward slashes that were seperating the last two storage options from the circles that u have to click.

I know how frustrating this stuff can be, especially since i'm obssessively stubborn and pig headed lol so I really hope this helps most, if not all of you!

why does no one on here use Palringo? It 100% free and offers, AIM, Google, ICQ, Yahoo, Live/Messenger/MSN whatever, VOIP...and its completley free to register and use...forever! www.palringo.com (http://www.palringo.com)

I do and a lot of us that were Agile Messenger users made the switch a while ago. I use it daily and am quite happy with it.

I was the first beta tester for JiveTalk and it was REALLY rough at the time and has come a long way since then. BUt it will be going to a pay model at some point.
