I have a dilemma and I was hoping some of the senior member could give me a little feedback. I've been an ATT customer for years and today something unusual happened. I got a taste of 3g in my home area (york, PA) and it was delightful (i was giddy like a little kid with a new toy). Pretty much north, south, east and west of me has 3g, but not old york. I was about to do a speed test on my laptop, after some browsing and funking around with my phone, but then it went back to edge :(. I've been waiting a while for 3g access and it seems klike I'm never going to get it, so I'm considering moving to another carrier. Do you guys have any suggestions or any feedback you can give me about your carriers, (US only please).

Yes, Change carriers., Because T-Mobile JUST released 3G in New York. So your town will get it in no time.
That doesn't leave much.
Now since you are posting this in the Kaiser Section, I'm going to assume you run a Tilt. The Tilt is a GSM phone, you have two choices for GSM service. AT&T and T-Mobile. Which means AT&T, unfortunately, is your best bet.

I'm in york, Pennsylvania so that won't really help but thanks. It seems like I do have 3G because my coworkers phone says 3G now. but it keeps switching back to edge. Also is there a way to get it to say 3g instead of the little h symbol?

"H" Is 3.5G. Or more specifically If it says "H" you have better then 3G.
But to answer your question directly.
If you have Advanced Config Look in there under Data Connections for HSDPA Icon, and Disable it.
Also, don't complain to much about switching between 3G and Edge. There are some Senior Member that don't have 3G at ALL, right Scotchua?

Yes it is. AT&T hypes "3G" because it is a recognizable buzzword, but "H" is above 3G in speed.
