Ok here is the deal
I have done wz all the cooking of a WM6.1 rom :D
i have compiled the os.nb (which i think is a working one)

the setback as for now is i cant compile back to make a ruu_signed.nbh eventhough i have used nbhgen wz a script

using HTC Rom Tool ... i get 67M of the RUU_signed.nbh ... i think maybe this is correct??? can somebody shed some light on this???

btw the size of os.nb new & old is the same ...

maybe i should release the rom here????

Sounds like there's something you have to remove from the original Vox's SYS (or any other WM-based smartphone out there) before it's clean and small enough to fit into the Cavalier capacity...I don't know much about this stuff but If there's anything I can I'll try to contribute to the building of the ROM. BTW, I have a Dell Axim X51v running WM6.1 by Lenny; It may sound stupid, but If there's any file that can be used to make the being-built-WM6.1 ROM for the Cavalier work, pls let me know.

just use clean WM6.1 Build 19202 AKU 1.0.0 Emulator Image. And forget about emulator! You need to test your build on real device, because emulator can't emulate Cavalier's hardware

Guess there's some other sys or file(s) responsible for the screen size configuration, or even there's some link among files that's responsible for this. After all, I think the screen size and its resolution on Q9 are pretty much identical to our Cavalier. OMG, this may take a long time to complete the building, but I truly believe it's done eventually...some day:(

I think this is a problem of CID unlock requirement, or SSPL & HardSPL. I remember having to do the cid unlock before being able to do the WM6 upgrade. Maybe this is the obstacle, I hope it is. Anyway, pls check again, If this really works now, I'll just say WOW:)
Edit: On second thought, you said that "even with spl1.00-Hard", does that mean you already applied the cid thing? If so, that's sad:(

I think the original wz is OK, as I remember flashing so many ROMs both for PPC and SP just using the ori ones. Probably some number changing is needed, maybe changing the Operator ID, say 11.1.1.5 > 12.2.2.6 > 12.3.2.6 as aforementioned in the first link of my previous post???:confused:

OK, maybe because you used ppc RUU Wraper you are getting error 296. Check Excalibur section or Wiki so we can find a way to extract RUU from there.

BTW, If possible, could you edit some registry keys to improve performance as well as battery longevity etc. of our Cavaliers? I myself have collected some and been using them OK, I'll post them tomorrow so you can all judge If they're fine to use on our units. (I do not have my Cava right now as I forgot it at my friend's home, party you know:D)

Here are some useful Registry keys I've found and used so far:
1) Enable ClearType:
In the Registry, create the "ClearType" key under HKLM\System\GDI and under it create a new DWORD named "Quality" with a value of 4. It supposedly works under WM5 Smartphone and WM6 Standard, in any device. To disable it, just remove the ClearType key.

2) Speed Tweak:
Change HKLM\System\GDI\Glyphcache\limit from 16384 to 65536.

3) IE Homepage:
To change your IE homepage go to
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\aboutURLs\ change home_0409 to your homepage.e.g.http://www.google.com/m

4) To enable Voice Command over Bluetooth:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule
The string value needs to be changed from "OEMAGW.dll" to "\Windows\vcbthag.dll".

5) Stop Windows Media Player from rotating in fullscreen mode:
HKLM\System\GDI add a new "key" named Rotation go into it and add a "dword" named LandscapeMode and set the value to 0(zero)

6) How to move attachments to Storage Card:
Go to: HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings
Add the new Values:
"PropertyPath" value="\Storage Card\Mail" datatype="string
"Attachpath" value="\Storage Card\Mail\Attachments" datatype="string"
Note: There're quotation marks in the values's names, so remember not to miss it, otherwise Messaging won't launch, I experienced this myself untill I figured it out.

7) GPRS Always ON:
HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\ <your modem name - default is T-Mobile Data>
Key: Always On
Default: 0
New Value:1

8) Improve Internet Experience:
Change DNS Servers from 0.0.0.0 to Open DNS:
Go to Setting>Connections>>GPRS and modify T-Mobile Data
Change Primary DNS and Secondary DNS from 0.0.0.0 to:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

9) Organize your pictures by Folders:
If you want to Organize your pictures by Date Folders (e.g. \Storage Card\My Documents\My Photos\01-23-2008 00001\)
Set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\Captparam\E nableDateFolder to 1 (default 0)

10) Disable the SMS Sent notification:
If you're tired of the "Message Sent" notification after sending an SMS/text message, you can disable them:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMs g = 1 (DWORD decimal)
And to re-enable:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMs g = 0 (DWORD decimal)
Please note that the 'Settings' key may not exist in your device, and thus may have to be created first.

11) Enable Panoramic Mode with the Camera:
change the value of "Enable" from 0 to 1 under HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/P6 and start the camera (not need to reboot).

12) System font changing:
Edit the following registry keys:

13) Increase battery life:
+ Active Sync Solution to Battery Drain Problem
It looks like Ative sync is trying to come on and sync draining the power from our units.
Here's the instructions:
Go to program files
Go to active sync
Go to menu
Go to add server source (add a fake server and settings)
Once that is finished
Go to Schedule and set to manual
Go to options and delete exchange server from options

+ Edit these registry keys
1. HKLM\Comm\AsyncMac1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0
2. HKLMComm\Irsir1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0
3. HKLM\Comm\PPTP1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0
4. HKLM\Comm\L2TP1\Parms\DisablePowerManagement
Change Dword value from 1 (default) to 0

these applets will be lost if just to replace OEMMISC folder from Moto Q rom, but all will be OK with my edited OEMMISC

try to wait a little more on first boot, is will take ~3-5 minutes to boot

Try to do the jumpspl and hard spl again before (each) ROM flashing, because it's locked again after each ROM flashing procedure. Try to do it and flash back to the ori WM6 one. I flashed your unfixed ROM and it booted ok, just some bugs as I reported. Or maybe it's only the start-up that takes up so long that makes you think it's bricked. I also flashed mine back from WM6.1 unfixed to previous WM6.0 by Dopod (sms is un-usable but I really need it, so...), and all of the things went ok. Maybe you just forgot something neccessary during the way.
Really hope yours's still fine.

Probably; however, I guess the only obstacle that prevents you from running SSPL (or JumpSPL) is that you can't get into the OS to press OK when confirmation box is shown. But, what if we defaultly let the procedure run without confirmation, which means no confirmation box is needed? Having this thought in my mind, I went to view content of SSPL.bat file inside the JumpSPL folder and saw the pause command. I just think, If we delete that pause command (probably this command is for security/safety purpose), would the steps go on their own, no confirmation is needed?

Just give this a try, cruzzmz. Delete the pause command and do a JumpSPL & HardSPL again, then flash your unfixed WM6.1 or the ori WM6.0 (the posted unfixed WM6.1 was flashed OK by me BTW). And remember to remove your SIM as well as Storage Card from your unit before doing those steps. I enclose a pic about that pause command. Hope it help you out of this.

yup the pause is just for the pc ... but if u cannot boot to the os how do u copy the jump.exe ??? i tried flashing hard spl again & wm6 flashing ... but then still no luck

I think JumpSPL is necessary before HardSPL, as JumpSPL will kind of fool the device so that HardSPL can be installed. Without JumpSPL, HardSPL (or bootloader) may not be properly flashed. i think so too. but then again i cant get pass the 1st boot screen so i hv no way to install the exe on the dev :( ... actually i also dunno what happen since i flashed the last rom that i cooked with erofich OEMMISC dll ... then when i flashed back wz unfixed rom & dopod wm6 rom also still stuck at 1st splash screen

In other words, that ROM remains untouched, as no HardSPL (bootloader) was installed to allow (cooked/official) ROM to be flashed. But again, your previous HardSPL is still there, so there's still hope to revive it. Maybe mtty can help. With splash screen, you mean the tri-color screen or the familiar WM6.1 green one?

i am stuck at the dopod 1st main splash screen ... cannot even boot to the 2nd & the green wm6.1

Did you try this?
Turn it off, remove battery. Wait 10 mins to allow it to clear out the memory.
Put battery in, power it on and see if it boots up OK.

tried everything in google ... frm hard reset using the "-" button ... up till flashing frm miniSD but still no hope :(

Power on your device and connect it to USB port of your PC, If ActiveSync recognizes it, try to run the app unlock tool then do the HardSPL again, then flash back to WM6.0 ROM. I'm not sure but anyway, give it a try mate.
If It doesn't help, try to "fake" HR the unit by pressing two soft key button simultaneously, then press power button to turn it off. Still keeping two soft key buttons pressed, power it on again, but when asked to HR, don't do it, by pressing X on QWERTY keyboard, It'll reset your device. Sometimes It helps.

activesyc is out of the pic since it wont pass the 1st splash screen, u need the os in order to sync.

there are only 2 official roms ... if tried it both and still nothing :(
