Hi all,

So, this is my official release of the second ROM in the DiamondMedia series. This ROM was made using KaiserChef (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=KaiserChef)!

Of course, any constructive criticism/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

First off, I'd like to say thank you to all of the people who contribute to this forum. Keep it up guys ;)

For AT&T users:
- To fix the keyboard not being configured properly, install Tilt Keyboard Fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=54691&d=1192731629) then soft-reset
- To use MMS, follow these instructions (thanks sakajati!):
1. Install ArcsoftMMS 5_0_31_16 (http://www.4shared.com/file/49980159/523ef583/ArcsoftMMS_5_0_31_16.html)
2. Extract cingnet_settings.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=95581&d=1214504082) and proceed the following steps
3. Install cingular_ppc_cert.cab
4. Install cing_mms_setting.cab
5. Install cing_connection_settings.cab
6. Install PT_Extra_RIL_Setting_13Mar08.cab
7. Soft-Reset

To fix the ClearType Issues (thanks the clueless!):
1. Open PHM Registry Editor from Start Menu > Programs > Tools, and make sure the following keys are correct:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings]
"OffOnRotation"=dword:0

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Setting]
"ClearTypeText"=dword:1
2. Download and install this cabinet file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=108045&d=1219466829)
3. Soft-reset by pushing the stylus into the reset hole
4. Please note that this will make applications like Opera Mobile to stop working

Nice work, I was playing with the throttle roms, but I can't make myself like them. I think the main annoyance is the kaiser has a border on the screen and you can't easily select the very left or very right buttons. I assume the border is flush on the diamond / touch pro.

In my opinion, yes, but 3d tests will not be as smooth

yes, in my next release I am going to remove opera (WAY too many bugs in every version I try) and include a .cab that will fix cleartype if you are willing to give up Direct 3d :D My next one will also be based on the latest diamond build

i did actually disable it. also, im sorry, but the diamond keyboards cause a few issues and take up quite a bit of space. however, if u wanted to use them, you can simply download and install the cab

Actually i don't think the option to disable xt9 is in the new advanced config. I didn't see it anyway. I"ll be checking back to see if i'm blind lol

haha cool, also could we get that touch pro keyboard? you forced me to flash V11 til V2 comes out and i'm diggin this raphael keyboard. I dunno what build on opera he used but there's no screen flip issues and beejive installs to the main device but i can't get the key yet, i think it's beejive's fault.

just to let you know, I took a drive from upstate NY to the DC area using CoPilot, google maps, audio manager streaming BT to a motorokr, recieved emails, made phone calls with no problems. everything worked as should!

due to a bug in windows mobile 6.1, you either get d3d (opera 9.5) or cleartype in landscape...

however, I will be releasing a .cab that allows you to fix the cleartype in landscape, as long as you are willing to give up d3d (like opera 9.5) for it...

You can create sms messages just fine, but if you wanted to create mms messages, just look at the third post

I notice that there isn't a CAB for landscape Cleartype posted in this thread, so...

Doing a quick search of the forums, I haven't really been able to find a definitive answer on this - do the Omnia drivers support Cleartype in landscape? Or is it a separate DLL from the 2D drivers, and thus irrelevant?

no, this is not a rom glitch. FTouchFlo is set to start on startup, so just go to File Explorer, go to Windows\Startup, and move the link that says FTouchFloxxx.lnk to somewhere else.

Then soft-reset, do your screen alignment, then move the FTouchFlo link back in Windows\Startup

After flashing 2.0 my camera stopped working. It took pictures but there was no preview, all black screen.

I installed HTC album, and Navadi's camera and it still does not work.

I have an ATT Tilt.

The radio works as well as sound, so I am not sure if it is a radio problem or not.

how durable are these phones? i dropped mine on CARPET (fluffy carpet) last night from like 3 feet and today the GPS and EDGE won't work. not sure if this is a software issue (was working before so i'm guessing not) or if something happened internally...

well i turned 3g off in comm manager so now data works again (cincinnati bell doesnt have 3g anyways yet)...but gps still wont work. plus i think i had 3g on all yesterday and data worked so idk why i suddenly had to turn it off. and yeah i'm going to go out in the middle of my street and test google maps and live maps and if neither gps works i'm going to reflash your rom, try again, and then possibly return the phone (ebay..i'll just say gps was DOA...)

I had the same problem, but I noticed that when I opened the keyboard, it fixed it (sort of). It looks like an overlay problem. It did the same thing in 1.7. It's like in windows going to dxdiag.exe and disable all video accelerators to get video playing on a second monitor.

I'm referring to the "UC-compatible" bullet item in the features. After the customization is run, it should run SDAutorun.exe to parse the SDConfig.txt file in the root directory of the storage card, but doesn't.

I just realized I was confusing in my message.

ok, I think I've fixed it, SDAutoRun.exe wasn't signed, so I signed it using a registry tweak. it should be fixed in my next release ;)

btw, i reflash the rom, but i still have the album issue. when i launch album from camera pic review or programs folder, the title bar displayed "album" then the screen went completely blank. i can minimize the application and the task manager does show album is running.

ok a few things.

i too have the (known) problem of going into album after taking a picture, however when I start the Album manually through multimedia it work's fine.

I have the same problem as someone else posted where after recording videos and trying to play them back Windows Meida Player says it can't play the file. And then it like doesn't save them.

Also, Wifi and GPS are touchy. I don't think either has to do with your ROM, but sometimes when I turn on Wifi it turns itself off right away. Anyone know how to fix that? Because it was really annoying once when I was trying to show someone a youtube movie.

Besides that, GPS is also touchy. It works fine in the morning (the past 2 mornings), but when I try to use it in the afternoon (retracing my footsteps...or tire tracks...) home, it can never get a signal.

QuickGPS is giving me the "Connection failed. Please try again later." Message that other people have reported (not specifically with your ROM though).

I'm not sure how many (if any) of you use Funambol (it's great!), but after flashing this Rom I'm getting an error message "Sync not completed, please try again later. If the error persists, contact Technical Support". I haven't, however, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, so it could have just gotten screwed up the time I installed it on this ROM (it worked fine on your last one).

Also, do you know how to delete a program from the device? I installed Navizon and hated it, so tried to install it. It's not in the "remove programs" menu, but I did remove it from the Windows / StartUp folder. Any ideas on how to fully delete it? (Especially if I installed it to my storage card?)

i dont have the wifi problem, but the EDGE cant access any data after i leave it on for couple of hours, i have to disconnect it manually and reconnect

to revert back to the original rom, all you would need to do is flash the default rom back, and yes, 2.5 will include a larger keyboard (taken from the touch pro/raphael);)

lol dude theres absolutely nothing wrong with being a newcomer to all of this, we were all ones at one time or another. yes, all you would need to do is download the shipped rom from htc's site

GPS - i dont know why, but sometimes it just doesn't work and i have to soft reset in order to get it to work.

wifi - haven't had the problem recently (haven't used wifi in a while), but a few times i tried to turn it on and it turned off right away...could be a 6.1 thing.

album - known problem...when launching from camera it's just a black screen.

camera - i'm not sure if you can fix this, (i've even edited the registry to make it not have the delays!) but whenever i take a picture, it takes like 5 seconds for it to take. even if i half-hold it down for a few seconds and have it auto-focus and then take the picture, it still has a 2-second delay. can this be fixed? is this even affecting anyone else?

video camera - TERRIBLE. i'm not sure if this is a 6.1 thing or the htc camera thing, but WOW my razr video camera was better (not quality wise), but if i'm recording a video and point the camera at something new, and it has to re-auto focus, it skips like 10 frames and gets the "ghost" effect and everything blurs and such. can this be fixed?

i'm pretty sure programs like icontact and pocketcm automatically remap the contacts soft key to go to that program, so that should do the job

Really nice ROM, fast, responsive and pretty clean..

However, a strange thing happens.....

The first time I flashed, everything went smoothly and I played with the ROM for a few hours before loading up all my apps.
Everything went great until I loaded the latest Voice Command Cabs - the version that actually works on WM6 and 6.1 - along with all the working announcements etc.
Well, VC worked fine but as soon as I tried to go into WM6 settings (Start >Settings) the phone rebooted. i tried it a couple of times with the same result.

So, I reflashed and didn't bother loading VC. Everything works great and I successfully loaded all my apps. except VC (1-Calc Pro, e_wallet, AEButtonPLUS, TomTom V7, SunnySoft Calling card). However, as soon as I loaded HHC 1.0 Final (which worked fine, BTW) if I try to go into SETTINGS > Align Screen, the phone locks solid - no response except for a Soft Reset. I've tried pretty much every other function and there are no surprise but this is repeatable.

Any ideas, comments?

This ROM is nearly exactly what I was looking for.

I have one issue though, that I'm curious if anyone knows how to fix: my Transcribe does not work. I put it in transcribe input mode, and then try to write and nothing happens. Any idea why this would be?

Probably a dumb question, but is any one else having trouble setting up a hotmail account. It was my default in the Dutty ROM I was using, but when I try to configure now it takes me to an online link to access.

unfortunately, the version of HTC Home I'm using (takes up the least space) has this bug. I could switch it by switching to the new one, but that would mean 2x the storage space for htc home, which is already a lot

unfortunately, I can't find the problem to this, but you can always get to the Album by going into Start Menu > Programs > Multimedia > Album

I'm not sure if it is this rom (2.0) or my Tilt, but ever since I started playing around with Hard SPL 3.29, your various roms since 1.5, the att release and then back to 2.0, I can't charge my Tilt using an approved car charger, iGo power with proper tip, or my Seidio cradle. If I use the power supply that came with my Tilt and 8525, it charges fine.

If I use my car charger and iGo power with the 8525's OEM HTC Charging & Headset Adapter it charges fine. No using the adapter for the Seidio cradle since it has the proper proprietary USB tip hard-wired in.

However, I can use my mini USB without the Adapter to sync with my computer and charge the Tilt, but I would rather use my Seidio Cradle to do all that. Have you ever heard of such a problem? If so, can you point me in the right direction to fix this annoyance?

I also tried pulling the battery out of the Tilt for about 2 minutes, then plugged the Tilt into the Seidio Cradle. The device powered itself on, went through the normal boot process, and then my computer shot out a USB driver malfunction.

I'm betting that there is either something wrong with my Tilt's pins where the USB cable goes into, or there is a driver problem with the Tilt.:confused:

unfortunately, the version of HTC Home I'm using (takes up the least space) has this bug. I could switch it by switching to the new one, but that would mean 2x the storage space for htc home, which is already a lot

I have noticed the newer YouTube player with Manilla and I have to say I don't like it as much as the YouTube player you have in v2. The Video quality is good, but wicked slow. Plus, I like the fact that you can save the .flv file to your device. It dosen't look like (or I haven't figured it) you can save .flv files to the device with the newer YouTube player with Manilla. Are you planning on keeping YouTubePlay a part of your next ROM and maybe figure out a way to have the link go it from Manilla? :D

i may have gotten an early release of it...i think i got the one that came out first...but whenever i open the keyboard it goes all funky and goes back to portrait and then i have to close and reopen it.

know what i'm talking about? is this fixable? no? can we implement something like "landscape touchflo" for the touch pro has?

It's not a true bug. Since TF2D was extracted from the HTC Opal there isn't a landscape mode for it. There's also no way for us to use the landscape mode from the Pro because we'd have to convert all of the VGA stuff to QVGA (and we've seen how that went).

I've been using this ROM for about a week now and I gotta say it is SLICK. Best one for me yet. Everything works way better than before. No hang ups or freezes; a slight BT problem every now and again when I have a call come in while WMP is running. I'm still toying with different radios though to find the best fit.

Advance Config is part of the rom and you can use it to set your connections how ever you want them, too. However, I have not used BlackBerry connect with my tilt but I don't see how that would be a problem.

After update to 6.1 the one comp. allways getting an error, and nobody seems to have any ideas, to get rid of it...

And the workarround is not good enough.
It had to be (imho) about the update to 6.1, with the 6.0 i always coud syncronize between my 2 computers (work/home)

Thought I would throw this out there, but have you deleted all partnerships in ActiveSync after flashing a new ROM? I always find that if I kill all my old partnerships from other ROMs I have flashed usually helps. Plus, I switch the USBtoPC connection box when I run into problems and sometimes that fixes some sync problems.

Plus, you can always try a different rom to see if it this rom.

My work around is to use Direct Push with www.cortado.com. I have been using this provider for about two years. It costs $9 a month (2 gigs of email space, spam blocker, and web outlook) for any email you want to push (forward emails) and collects your contacts, calendar, email, and tasks from PPC. Everytime I flash a new rom, I just setup my cortado account with Outlook email (on PPC) and I get all back in a flash. Never have to active sync with my desktop because it's on the cortado mail server. Not sure if you have tried this way or not. You can try it free for 30 days (I think).

I also remember having to re-install activesync on one of my computers. I have noticed that some things stick around when switching roms. :cool:

I'm running 1.7 and noticed that MP4 files do not play. I know I can probably just use TCMP but what is the best version as a lot of them are flying around?

I can't find enough fault with 1.7 to upgrade to 2.0, yet.

Solace is newer, of course, faster, about the same in stableness, and includes a ton of updated software, and great user experience ;)

Please assist in this thanks. also i' been searching but not sure if i needed to revertback to the att rom on the tilt how do i go about this? Hi and thanks for a great ROM. I'm having an issue setting up a new email account. The box that usually says "get settings automatically from the internet" seems to be missing. The result is that I can't manually configure my gmail IMAP settings. If I enter my email address and password WM just sets the settings as a POP account with a googlemail address. I tried just accepting this, then returning to edit the settings, alas it won't allow me to change from a POP3 account to an IMAP account so changing the server address becomes pointless.

Anyone else with this issue? Anyone know how to disable the "get settings automatically..." without the tick box being there?

finally after I have struggled with edit PHM Regedit I found that the Celcius parameter was 0 but I set it back to 1 and it works, the weather is now showing Celcius. But one thing that I want to know how to disactivate the internet connection through gprs when I look up the weather. I only want the PDA to connect to the internet through activesync (using usb connection), so only when I need it.
