...more or less the same here: since changing to tomtom 7 my orig. htc rom is a bit sluggish!
i am back to the good old days with meschle: vanilla 4.01!!! changed radio to Artemis 2.98.90 gsm radio though, since all the new cooks dont seem to know about the downs of porting radio roms from other machines to the artemis!
its been a while back too, when we found the battery drain on most cooked roms resulting from any version above the mentioned radio! 2.98.90 is the last released for artemis- often other versions result in a constant polling for radio-signal, thus draining battery enormously--and spreading more radiation than needed.

Strange, don't need anything faster for my P3300, i use gsm, gps, wifi and no delays at all.
I have YuE_WM6.1_v4.4_LiteSE_WWE rom and installed a lot of extra's on the storage card.
TomTom is not so spectacular anymore (graphicwise), i use IGO8 (3D buildings) and rom fast enough :) (standard 201MHZ).
You can always tweak it up with batterystatus to 247mhz but what goes slow?
What do you do with your Artemis, video or graphic processing ??? :-)
Please note that faster processorsettings = faster battery drain.
In past i had Qtek 2020i & Eten G500 (both +-400 a 500mhz) but don't miss the speed...
Don't follow the hype, Artemis is best price/quality all in one at the moment.
At least we have a mini-sd extension slot and gps, that's a minimum :)
If you want an iphone for the 3D interface, install htc rom with 3D Cube & set to 247mhz.
The Iphone layout gets boring with the icon startup screen is not so 'funky' as the SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 with Diamondskin & Samuraiweather on our Artemis ;)
You can install also an iphone skin, iphone s2u2, ... ringtone,... so that it looks the same softwarewise, but it's not so spectacular as you might expect...
Be individual, install your own rom, todayskin, programs and make a backup of your own perfect setup is the message !

YuE_WM6.1_v4.4_LiteSE_WWE rom and installed a lot of extra's on the storage card.
Between YuE_WM6.1_v4.4_LiteSE_WWE and Vanilla 4.02, which one is better ?

No idea, i took Yue's cause it was a newer version, and if i'm not mistaken it had less pre-installed stuff. I want to start from scratch with the lightest rom and install SPB Mobile Shell, and all other tools I like, no unescessary stuff to save program memory & ram. I did install the latest RADIO for best battery/consumption settings...
In past i used the 4.02 from Meschle & tested the Oops black, but don't like the HTC Home plugin and the diamond-plugin... SPB Mobile Shell with diamond skin 2.1 is really the coolest :)
Yue's extraclean should be the lightest, but i didn't get it too work, cannot flash it through windows cause romsize lower than normal.
SDHC Card flashing is not possible (tried it with an SD also but no succes). But i'm satisfied with my current rom for a long time.

try the following in order to get sd card flashing to work:
run uspl!!!!
than:
quoted from ...."i dont remember"
"1) install WM5torage in your pda
2) start the program
3) deselect all voices in the panel (expecially Removable Class)
4) connect your pda with PC via USB
In this way windows read the SecureDigital as a fisical disk, so you can create, resize and delete partitions
5) in your PC right-click on Computer, then select Manage
6) Select Disk Manager and then delete existent partition
7) create a new partition with max size 256MB
8) format this partition in FAT32
Now your SD is ready to be used for flash!!!"
Thing that made me drop YuE_WM6.1_v4.4 is that friggin` russion stuff.
yeah, u can change dialer and pads, but it keeps contacts search in russian:mad:
apart from that, my original htc wm6.0 rom was definately not the choice for tomtom7 somehow it felt... sluggish!
both YuE_WM6.1_v4.4 and vanilla 4.01 ( my all-time classic from the good old days!!!) both do the job quite zippy--so i agree: stay with the artemis, forget about yuppie-style ipone!

oh I just known that vanilla 4.01 and 4.02 use the same OS built. I uploaded vanilla 4.01 in the collection topic. I hate diamond black skin black GUI on 4.02 but now I finished setup all my programs and lazy to go back 4.01
Specialist ROM cookers never make clean ROM. It's hard to upgrade builtin 3rd party softwares in the future. Not everyone install new ROM every month. We want to install one ROM and forgot it. Use it 2- 5 years without hardreset.
If I am ROM cooker, I will make clean ROM and the optional all-in-one.cab. An optional All-in-one.cab can install in one click later. These can be easy upgrade or uninstall in the future.

nice idea! just to let you know on that matter: all pdaviet roms are missing a vital part, this makes it impossible to re-cook them!
