Is there an option to increase the size (height) of the Alphabetical listing in the contacts screen. Every time I try to select a tab, the first choice on the menu pops up. I need to increase tis height for my fat thumbs. Is this a n option in ACT3.3?

you're probably missing an image from the comm manager skin. the icon is probably looking for something with a different name once vibrate is selected.

Hi, today I've managed to do my own .gif plus the new .wav file for a splash animation. I put both files in Windows directory.
Then just modified the registry using AdvancedConfig. And it works!:) Awesome

Where do I have to change it exactly? MS splash screen or Carrier splash screen? I try both but couldn't choose a gif. I also try to change it manually but in registry there isn't this folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/HTCAnimation

I didn't realize that all the images were there in your installation. Sorry 'bout that.

One problem is that the skin is set to use the ON / OFF sliders, but Ringer <-> Vibrate is a setting toggle so it just leaves the options on ON.

The majority of the settings for the Comm Manager are stored in the Registry. I believe in HKLM\Software\HTC.

I'd make a registry backup & then start poking around there to see if you can fix some of the issues there.

Can there be an update to add support to import xml/provxml files automatically when an xml/provxml is clicked in any file manager. Maybe add a cmd line switch for that, so it's not necessary to browse to the xml/provxml file from within advconfig for each file to import.

I tried your tool to activate ALS menus on my Xperia X1.
In the "Phone" menu, I therefore activated:

"Show ALS page"

and

"CPHS override"

I was now expecting to have the ALS menus activated (e.g. a small 1 or 2 in the toolbar, extended ringtone settings for the second line, etc.).
However, the menus do not show up (they are not activated on the simcard, since this is not possible with eplus). However, since I have a second line on my contract, I tried to call the second line - and ended up in a connection fault, the phone does not even ring.
Since ALS works with other phones (such as the P1i) smoothly, I think that either my Xperia does not support ALS at all (even though it should, regarding manual and feature list), or the CPHS override feature of the advanced configuration editor is buggy.
Is there anyone here who could ever activate the ALS menus by using the Advanced-Configuration-Editor and with a non-ALS (regular) simcard?
Would be really nice to know.

First of all, thanks for this great tool. It is incredibly useful. :)

I have one little problem. Perhaps it is an unrelated coincidence, but after installing and running Advanced Configuration Tool on my Touch Pro, all the help files on my phone became associated with Opera Mobile. I know it is weird, and I didn't use any tweaks related to the browser or file associations, but I can't figure out what else could be responsible. If anyone has any ideas, or knows how to easily change that back, I would appreciate any suggestions.

I tried to download Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool from the website and the website appears to be down. Just wanted to notify it...I think I have an old version floating around anyways...I just wanted to try a later version on my g/f's mother's Blackjack II to see if it's work to increase font sizes so she can read it better.

Update: I fixed the problem. I turned off menu animations, and the Start Menu is back to normal. Too bad though, because I liked those animations.

Hey guys. I downloaded Advanced Config and installed it on my Touch Pro. It is an awesome app, but I just have one problem. For some reason, ever since I installed it, my start menu is all garbled (see attached screen shot). As soon as I tap anything on the start menu, it clears up and becomes usable, but as soon as I close it and pop it back up, it gets all screwed up again. I thought maybe it had something to do with the caching options I changed, so I put them back to default, but to no avail. I've also tried several soft resets, but nothing seems to fix the problem. :confused: Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a possibility of using this vor TF3D V2? I'd like to change the tabs, but it just wont work, it keeps saying that it can't load configuration for TF3D (more > TF3D) Some other things I tryed are working.

I looked around and found that its supposed to be in the registry under: HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/Configuration but this entry does not even exists in my reg.
Does anyone have an idea?

I don't know if it is the right thread to submit my problem.
I was successfully using Advanced Configuration 3.3 on my Xperia X1.
I just updated the ROM with the last official French SE ROM (RA3AA007) and Advanced Configuration no longer works: I get a "unexpected error" from Windows. I reinstalled the program but it is always the same result, so I removed from device.
Could someone help me ?

I don't know how to reverse back to my original CommManager or how to have more than 6 items selected with AdvancedConfig.

After installing the newest Advanced Config on my TP2 my TF3D was suddenly gone and the old-fashioned start menu reappeared.

In Advanced Config > Menu > More Settings > TouchFlo 3D it says:
"An error occurred while loading TouchFlo 3D configuration"

When I click ok the TF3D settings page opens and all boxes are unchecked. After checking them all or just a few I try to save but then it says:

"An error occurred while saving TouchFLO 3D configuration."

How can I fix this?!

Sorry, but this question comes from a first time user. My HTC Diamond comes with Advanced Config Version 3.3.0.0.

However I noticed that a good amount of the settings doesn't do any any changes to my device. Most noticeable is its inability to enable the TouchFlo3D's Call Records button and the Comm Manager's buttons and arrangement. Changing each of the 6 configuration buttons to a different one works, but they don't change the linking of the buttons at all.

For example, my default layout is :
Phone
Bluetooth
Wireless LAN
Beam
3G
Data Connection

If I changed it to
Phone
Wireless LAN
IP Phone
Bluetooth
Data Connection
Flight Mode

the Comm Manager reflects the changes. However if I select the second button(which has been changed to Wireless LAN) I'm directed to the Bluetooth Headset search screen. Selecting the third button (which is now IP Phone) would send me to the Wifi Search screen. Its as if the config only changes the skins of the buttons but not the buttons and their links itself. It the same on every single button in there.

What is going on here? Am I using a working version of Advanced Config?

But just a warning, I got a virus from the Advanced Config website following the original link.

It probably came in through one of the adverts or something, but be rather careful and try and avoid browsing there on a windows machine if you've got Linux or OSX somewhere else in the house.

This tool's great, however, it seems that when I import a provisioning XML (say if I've decided to do a hard reset to clear a lot of crap off my device) my internet explorer will no longer connect to whatever network I have set up...

I tried reloading all my programs one by one, and checking if IE still worked - the only point where it stopped was after import - I tried to import the default settings, etc. but this would not fix the issue...

Not sure if anyone else is having issues... I could be completely wrong, and it could be something else, but I'm pretty sure it isn't.

I've attached the .provxml file to help debugging...

Any solution to this problem please??

I've returned to Factory Settings in order to restore my Pocket Internet Explorer. (this is the fourth time I've had to do this)

whats really sad is that someone who can code/dev needs to be constantly looking at the carrier released updates to fix this and with no steady cash flow (and each carriers device) its not going to happen...

i gotta find a list where i can find the actual REGEDIT's for each change made with ACT so i can do it without ACT because ACT caused problems for me as well with any ROM i try since i got my TP...

So while exploring the options of advanced config 3.3 I seem to have some how completely erased the Options Menu on my windows start menu. Beyond that .. I cant find the settings anywhere on my phone. Ive searched for all possible links via Resco file explorer and SKtools, only able to find a few settings.
Now I am more than familiar with advanced config 3.3 settings. The last and only thing I did before the Houdini was explore the options under Key Mapping. I did not change ANY settings, only explored. Possible Solutions ?? I'm semi new, any advice will help. Thx

This is the latest version, yes.

As for it working, it does what it's meant to do so yes it works. Just be aware, if you change a setting that you don't understand to a value that is wrong you might have to change it back, or at worse, Hard Reset your device.

The wifi-on-at-standby function isn't working here (WinMo 6.5). The registry-key that should do this can't be changed (it keeps setting back to default).

Is this a Win problem or could my branding cause this? Is there a way to "unlock" the registry?

I want to change my LEFT SOFT KEY to "NewSMS".
But there is no option for this in KeyMapping.

Any ideas on how I can do this?

No and yes. You have to change the settings in the tool itself and do a softreset. Otherwise nothing will change.

Hi there

Don't know if anyone here can help but I seem to be experiencing a problem with deleting apps that have been registered under SmartTouch?

Foe each application I want to use the Zoom Bar for I do the following:

- open the application I want to register
- open Advanced Configuration Tool
- Menu > More Settings > SmartTouch > Add
- Use "Add Active Application"
- select the application I want to register
- Click "OK" and after a soft reset...hey presto!

Whilst this seems to work OK the one annoying side effect is that if you add an app as detailed above and then do not want it to make use of the zoombar one seems unable to delete the reference to the app that was added; even if it is highlighted and the 'Delete' button is press/a soft reset is performed.

Not a big issue but annoying as I do like to keep the list of registered applications down to those I use rather then all ever registered.

Is there is any way to resolve this, even if it means editing the Registry if the ACT v3.3 has a bug in it?

I tried using Advanced Config 3.3 to make some changes to Comm Manager, but Advanced config only allows 6 items in Comm Mgr! My Feb 26 ROM (Energy Leo 23541 Max Manilla) has 8 items in Comm Manager. I went into the registry to try to repair and found the key for how many items you can have (up to 9) but Advanced Config scrambles the executable with the item name. I discovered this as I tried to repair Comm Mgr via the registry.

Any ideas on how to get Advanced config updated to allow the correct number of Comm Mgr entries?

NOT COMPATIBLE!!!! I tried with my HD2 with stock rom 1.66.... cant even boot into OS. Keeps asking if i trust some dll.
Changes made only to power management - sd card power management and glyph cache size.

Upon reset (through red button under batt cover) my phone lock pin does not work anymore (it says incorrect pin and cant unlock the screen). Screen is also turned off erratically (halfway entering pin to unlock).

Gonna hard reset now.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Any other daring soul try and post to confirm my result.

I don't know if you will see this schaps but I just wanted to say Thank You for this great application!!
I have been using it on my Diamond and I used it on my Vogue before that and it just works great!! I always recommend it and will continue to as long as it is available. It is one of the few must-have apps that in my opinion every WinMo user should have.

Excuse me, the option to disconnect GPRS, MMS, ... after a few minutes without activity only works well if the PDA is ON, nor in standby mode, is it or i am wrong?
If it is, is there any option to disconnect GPRS without activity although the PDA is in standby (screen off)? I think it is very important for battery and i do not have solution.

Hi all!!

I have the same issue as montarelonf.

I think the disconnection only happens if the PDA is on. If it´s suspended, the GPRS connection finish after 20 or 25 minutes (other times i have to disconnect it manualy from the connections popup in taskbar)

Has anybody an idea about it? (i have to tell you that i have been using the forum search and i have found nothing about it :confused:)

Nice work on this one, many thanks!
It made my Kaiser fast and stable. It also help to cure the IMAP downloading problems over wifi (by giving more memory to the phone in performance tweaks, and disable auto-off the wifi when it's idle), and generally reduced the system lag.

My rig: HTC TyTN II, stock HTC WM 6.0.

I apply tweaks carefully, from time to time a little bit more, but no sign of instability yet!

So I am just hopping on the Windows Mobile train, I know... late to the party. On to the problem:

I have downloaded the .cab file and installed it. Or so I have thought. I cannot find where it has been installed. The only thing I have been able to find is the .cab file which reinstalls (duh) the file/app/program/WhateverItIs.

On my PC I can do just about whatever I want, with the hTC Tilt2 however, I am finding it hard to do much of anything besides sit and wait for things not to work properly and if they do, they do it slowly. Some guidance would be extremely helpful. It's that or it gets thrown into a brick wall and I shell out mad cash for an iPhone4... ugh.

1- Does the performance settings overwrite cooked ROM settings ? ( I use Josh's 6.5 Spring ROM ) I made changed to the cache size but seems doesn't make any difference.

2- What is the best setting in performance section for Hermes100 running custom 6.5 ROM ( as mentioned above) ?

I installed it today on my Artemis v54 HD2 ROM. I knew of the program, just never used it. I changed some settings that a user who uses it much advised, and I will see if I can notice some differences.
