This is not flashable of course..This is intended for ROM cookers.
You need to convert it to a flashable rom first
Search for the famusc kitchen for further details.
This is a WWE rom

ksameh,
I have converted your i780JPHE2 Part002.raw to i780JPHE2.bin.
I used FAMUSC Kitchen (thanks FAMUSC!) to carry out the conversion. This is not a cooked rom, but just to convert to bin format.
WARNING: I have not tried flashing this personally (since I have already have the EFN cooked rom. The purpose is to let the rest to see what's inside and perhaps one day can use this to cook their rom. Any damages or bricking of your device is NOT my responsibility. Use it at your own risk!
Now uploading.... Will update this post once completed.
Update: Uploaded to Rapidshare (http://rapidshare.com/files/138528009/i780JPHE2.rar.html).
:)
Last but not least, my thanks to EFN for being the first to cook the rom, and his patience and guidance throughout the i780 rom cooking.

Thanks for converting. I have just flashed it and it's working. (Opera Mobile 8.65, Windows Messenger etc are included) :)
EDIT:
OK, there's one thing - The window Settings -> Tab Connections -> Connections is empty - no links so I cannot configure connection and enter Access Point Name... Weird. I will try hard reset and flashing E1 -> E2 (because I was using EFN's WM 6.1 ROM).
EDIT2: No luck...

When I dumped a HE1 Dutch/Netherlands rom, using al the exact instructions based on the same way of cooking the PDA part.
I had the exact same thing, a blank connections list.
I suspect their is something not right, during the procedure.. hopefully we will find in time what the problems is, that causing this symptom.

I'm sorry that it didn't work out. I'm really not sure why this happens too. Really seems like something is missing and we are not catching it.
By the way, you have an original WWE Rom?
One thing i notice is when using famusc kitchen tools and his pdf instruction, while his footer showed that there is a jump in address, the footer that was found in the bintonb0.txt is as follows:

There seems to be 2 identical addresses as shown above. I suspect it might be the footer had generally overwrite some of the values and hence we are facing this problem.
Anyone got any ideas so far?
By the way, can you check the version number? Does it still show DXHE1 or JPHE2?

My i780 came with fw C1 in English but it was customized for Slovak provider and his homepage is still set, even when I'm upgrading.
The PDA shows JPHE2. The radio is DXHE1.

Moneytoo, thank you for your feedback. And am really appreciative that you are my first guinea pig :D.
If you refer to my post earlier on the bintonb0.txt, you will realized that the footer address had conflicted with some of the addresses. There are 2 possibilities the way I see it:
The footer address is correct, and anything beyond that 6 blocks are not flashed in.
Everything in the addresses were flashed and when it comes to the footer address, it overwrites the original values.
I have pm famusc on this, and hopefully he reads through this and can help us.
I have also noticed that EFN cooked rom bintonb0.txt is similar to the one which I had posted here. Maybe I should ask him for advice also.
I believe if we can get the right footer address without overriding any of the values in those 6 blocks, maybe we do have a chance to rectify this.

Isn't the file size of your flashable rom too large? I have just created mine without any noticable issue - all addresses, sizes seem to be ok. Unfortunately I can't test it because it's late and I need my phone fully working for next two days.
I can upload it if someone is willing to test it but I can't provide any guarantee, I'm no cooker.

Did you compare your bintonb0.txt? It seems that the addresses went beyond the footer part.
What about your bintonb0.txt? Did you see the jump in address at the footer part like in the README.pdf by famusc?
Also which i780DXHE1 bin did you use? Where did you get it? For mine, I got it from EFN thread 1st post (Not sure if this was already cooked before). And that one also has the footer issue.

Ok, I seemed to figure it out between your bintonb0 and mine. Even though mine stretches beyond the footer address, all those addresses after the footer ones are actually null addresses. The last one in fact is only 6 addresses more than yours.
Since you have flashed too, and encounter the same problem which is the no connectivity issue, it is now highly possible that the rom dump might have some issues.
Thanks moneytoo, glad to know you are pursuing this. :)

A way to resolve this probably - Obtain the XIP files from ksameh i780. Copy out the boot.hv, boot.rgu, mxip_initdb.vol, mxip_lang.vol, mxip_system.vol and sysroots.p7b from the phone directly and perhaps this will sort out the connectivity problem. If I can get the files I can cook them properly.

I have just managed to flash my i780 with JPHE2 and now actually replying this thread using Opera Mini through 3G/HSDPA connection, so it seems the connection issue is indeed due to missing XIP files which need to included during BuildOS cooking
HE1 XIP were used since I cant get HE2 ones
BUT one problem tough, the fullstop dot does not seem to be working on the keypad and I am not sure why

While I see a connection of the *.vol files in building back the OS, how do you make use of the other 3 files (boot.hv, boot.rgu and sysroots.p7b) to be cooked into the rom since the dump do not produce such files?
Am I missing something? :)

I've tested it and it looks like it is much older....
- It has the old mouse driver (no tapping function)
- It has the "old" Start-Screen
- on the first run it is not asking if you want to creat an email account like in the earlierer versions...
So it can't be the E2 we are looking for... or???

Yes precisely why I dont use JPHE2 as my base because I find DXHE1 is much later in driver versions.

He is working around the clock, with roms.. In these roms there are certain driver files, for the I780 to work correctly. Problably it shows their driver versions somewhere.
g00ndu
27th August 2008, 06:11 PM
Based on the country code, some roms are developed at a much later stage but using the older versions of the drivers. Some places might have a development team that can churn out faster roms, while others might be slower.
Of course, the above is my opinion. YMMV. :)
