D. Rom Description.


All Rom images are based on WM6.1 CE 5.2.19212 Build 19212.1.0.3 and called Mobile Virtual Vista.

The roms are structured to provide a Total User Customization interface.

They support all AutoRun and SDAutoRun V2.0 instructions as: LOCK, HIDE, SHOW, CAB, XML. CPY1, CPY2, CFG, EXEC and RST.

Please study in depth the control file SDconfig.txt as well as the files in the VistaLib directory.

Here bellow are highlighted some core issues of the roms:


1. Read readme.txt file for successful flashing.

2. The VistaLib directory includes:

- CabsToWindows, with:

- AudioManagerTodayPlugin.cab

- Backup.cab (PIM backup) **** Mobile Virtual Vista 2.10 ****

- DefaultThemes.cab

- S2U2.cab **** Mobile Virtual Vista 2.10 ****

- ThrottleLauncher.cab

- CabsToStorageCardProgramFiles, with:

- LiveSearch.cab

- OneTouchOrganizer.cab

- PocketRAR.cab

- PocketTV.cab

- RSSHub.cab

- SJphone.cab

- VisualGPSce.cab

- VoIP.cab

- WMStopWatch.cab and

- XnViewPocket.cab

3. Also included:

- SDFileOperation.xml

- SDLinkRemove.xml

- SDRegistry.xml

- SDConfig.txt

- RUU_Signed.nbh.

4. The keyboard layout has options for small/big letters.

5. There are two start menus, the Quick with single tap and my advanced browsing with long tap or windows key.

There is also the Wktask menu activated with a tap on right top bar.

6. The key of messaging is assigned to Task Launcher for better performance that is pointed on messaging button,

7. Regedit (the one part of task manager) and Total Commander are assigned in the known inside hard keys.

8. All screens (initial splash, windows welcome and AutoRun) are redesigned as well as Mobile_Vista.tsk and Black_Vista.tsk .

9. The new three in one Today Plug-in, WiFi - Phone - Bluetooth, is revealed and reports the status of these items

as well as by tap on it you have the short communication manager.

10. Internet explorer has two new home screens.

The first has help, IE Home, HTC Home and Xda Developers.

If you tap on IE Home the well known IE screen is seen, not shown on other HTC roms.

When you tap on menu>tools>options you can set the current, IE home as home page.

You can always go to the first page from menu>tools>options and in setting use default.

11. SRS WOW HD driver is in the rom as package for enhanced HD sound.

12. The bottom screen plug-in has six small buttons where from left to right you can have:

- Green for phone on-off

- Gps ephemeris activation

- Memory

- Bluetooth

- Icon only for battery charge view. For the settings there is the top bar battery button.

- Screen rotation.

13. Including to Tom Tom 6 navigator there is Visual GPSce application for Sirf or NMEA protocol.

The bottom right flashing icon is green when fix is made and can be blue when differential gps signal is received.

14. With the package ZX_MediaOS_Q8_real your windows media player is capable to play
real audio and real video files as files with the following extension:
- .aac, .amr, .awb, .3gp, .3gpp, .mp4, .ra, .rm, .rv, .ram and the famous small .rmvb

Hi,

All HardSPLs found in xda are carry out the main tasks of not check NBH signatures, accept any password, shrink model id check and disable spl override.

I have used for all Mobile Virtual Vista rom languages the same Hard-SPL v1, that can be downloaded from here:

Ive been using ur first ROM for a while now and its been amazing in terms of battery life. Battery life has been the bane of my using most phones as my usage patterns are very very heavy... With your rom that stopped... right now, after close to 7 hrs of normal use, my battery is still at 67%... my experience with other roms including the stock roms has been that i would have abt 10-15% battery left after 7 hrs...

This has however caused another problem.. i dont want to change roms... but your new release is tempting and i wanted to you whether the power usage attributes are similar to your earlier rom or not... cos i will change only if they are...

Hi Ansar. Having trouble with this ROM in that my Kaiser does not wake up after being in sleep mode. Have to reset in order for it to start up again. I'm using hard spl 3.29 with NEO Radio 1.58.
Any sugestions?

I have not installed spl 3.29 neither NEO radio 1.58, so can not suggest anything by now.

I will install these and let you know about it.


By the way the download links have been updated and a link to a fixed S2U2.cab is been provided.

The reason as explained in the first post is due to dublicates files that there are in the original S2U2.cab causing errating display of the time.

Hi,

Verify that VistaLib is placed in the \Storage Card as a folder and that

SDConfig.txt is placed in the \Storage Card as a file.

i ve tried like 7 times already. I did what you said and now it loads cabs but those 2 ok's are impossible, the second ok transforms into an X before being able to clock it and then the autorun kicks again too fast.... then the s2us error..

I flashed to this last night and it is the best ROM I have used so far. Tried the Diamond V11, Yardie, Dutty's and a couple of others but this is much better.
I love roms with stuff in them and this has enough for me to play with for a few weeks.
Had a couple of issue with throttle launcher (completely removed it) and with S2U2 but fixed it by using the newly posted version.

I am sorry i was a little bitchy last time. this is actually the best rom. The only problem I had is that: no icons for installed programs from SD. not in start menu or in program folders. Looking inside the XMLs it seems that this is not normal. Any idea why this happened to me? i tried several times...

Tap on Today Wireless item (under date/time item) and then on Bluetooth.

Tap on menu at the bottom right, then tap on Bluetooth Settings and select Mode tab. Select both Turn on Bluetooth and Make this device visible ...

Hi,

The following are very important in UC roms:

1. Do not tamper with xml files if you are not 100% sure of what you are changing and that you doing it right.

2. Do not change the position of these files, that means VistaLib folder must always include the folders and files needed
.. and VistaLib plus SDConfig.txt must be in the Storage card, and

3. The files are of ansi form, not unicode.

4. Always verify that a hard reset is performed after flashing.

Thnx for your support.

Throttle launcher needs some seconds to initialize in the first time used.

Always use navigation keys that also keep the screen refreshed after an app use.

To exit easy from TL tap on red button (close phone) and from WK close/terminate.

After UC final reset, close S2U2 message, go to Apps and tap on S2U2.

Hi,

Fisrt check your battery and backlight power turn off options (1min and 30 secs). With S2U2 you can reduce settings even more.

Then see your battery status, cause in mine stays for almost a week.

For the new radio i have not yet evidence/report of power consumption.

Is anyone else having a problem with battery life, or does anyone have an idea what could cause poor battery life with this ROM? I work a 12-hour shift, and by the end of my shift the battery is completely drained. Well it was at 1%, then it died on my way to the car. One idea I have is that I live in a non-3G network area; I don't know if that matters or not. Also I am using the new AT&T radio, 1.65.21.18.

Have you tried the power management options in Kaiser Tweak which is included in the ROM? in my case, battery life improved dramatically after i enabled power management for all the options available under it. hope this helps

Have you tried the power management options in Kaiser Tweak which is included in the ROM? in my case, battery life improved dramatically after i enabled power management for all the options available under it. hope this helps

I did that even before I installed my software. I've since flashed 1.65.20.14; I'm not sure if I will see much improvement, since it is down 10% in about an hour. The next step will be to flash my old radio I was using with Dutty's latest; it worked very well.

Connect your device to the PC, run KaiserCustomRUU.exe and follow this application on screen instructions, it is simple forward.

I have tested manilla and some other dealers and work ok. Just check to have the final bugs free dealer sets.

Hi,

The following are the three values to be set in order to reactivate AutoRun and SDAutoRun feature.

These values must be re-set up cause with a previous hard reset are set to a deactivated status:

1 AutoRunCFG is set to : \Windows\SDConfig.txt

2. AutoRunFlag value to : 1 and

3. SDAutoRunFlag value to : 1

So tap on RegEdit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, tap on Comm and set:

1. AutoRunCFG value to : \Windows\Config.txt

2. AutoRunFlag value to : 0 and

3. SDAutoRunFlag value to : 0

Then run CheckAutoRun from Start\Programs\Tools .

The procedure can be repeated if you set up again the above values.

You can also define your own SDConfig.txt, but first study the existing one and the .xml files .

Hi,

The ROM is great and it's fast, SUPER fast. The only problem I have is when the device is in standby it won't wake up. I have to reset to turn it on. Does anyone have the same problem? Is there is any solution for this?

Also I run the Tilt keyborad fix but there are some keys that don't work like they should.
Another thing is that not all the programs listed are isntalled, like pocket TV and others.

I love this ROM and would like to keep it running forever in my device.

I looked for the Sleep of Death problem and found that someone solution was checking the Enable advanced network functionaliy in Settings>Connections>Usb to PC

That fixed the problem but now every time I want to sync with the PC I have to Uncheck the button.

Is there is any fix for this? I used to have Duttys Rom and never had a this problem.

In all my projects i am using windows mobile device center 6.1 for MS Vista OS, and for XP activesynch 4.5 at least.

It is a simple task to connect your pda tp pc with usb and is the most reliable connection.

Thottle launcher is running without probs.

Launch it from Start\Programs\Accessories, then launch any app and minimize it from red button.

You can navigate to different jobs from top (navigation) bar icons.

1. It is NetCF 2.0

2. It is reported as very fast rom.

3. WWE or Complete Arabic rom?

I prepared a version of WWE Mobile Virtual Vista that keyboard, paraytimes, quran and some mere apps are running ok.

I think is better to prepare a rom in Arabic language with all required applications.

What do you think is better ? A complete rom in Arabic language or the first option ?

speaking for myself, i dont feel a complete arabic rom is required.
if there was a WWE rom that supports arabizers like "fi jaibi ein 6.1" or "MOBIDEV" without any bugs or conflict with the rom...i think all us "arabic flash junkies" would be satisfied :D

Good work man. So far no problems with the exceptions of deep sleep. It still does not wake up unless I reset. The only workaround is to disable advanced usb.

There is no report for this kind of problem, try the installation instructions carefully.

I am using the IPL and SPL of the signature bellow, and the radio of the rom, and everything is fine.

In any case can you report your IPL, SPL and the radio you are using?

I love new rom's, but this rapidshare crap keeps alot of us from downloading. I believe those files are in the download pacakge he has. Just download everything to your pc, and then put the files in the right place as it specifies.

first I thought this will be my now ROM, 'cause it's the fastest one I have tried. But then problems start to come.

First: the storage card cab installs but the I'm missing the links from the start menu. I tried several times to hard reset the phone. But this is not a big thing I can create them manually.

Bluetooth: I have a Jabra headset, and it does not pair with the phone now. The phone not even found the device. I tried with my laptop, and that's works, so it looks like the radio working, just having problem with this specific device.

SJPhone: I was so excited when I saw the SJPhone in the list of cab because I'm working in the VOIP industry at the moment. The sjphone can connect to a sip proxy, register, and I'm able to make outgoing calls, but after got answare the media doesn't seem to be come up, so no sound.
But the funny thing is when i'm receiveing a call, it brings up a windows that there is a call in the sjphone, and the only option is to hide it, and no way to answare the calls. OK I know this is probably a problem what I should report to SJlabs, but maybe others already played with it and know a sollution.

I didn't have time to test out the battery life, but I'm sure that will be good as well and I like the look and the cab collection as well, so it would be really great to get over these problems.

I rad the forum topic, but can't really find anyone with these kind of problems, except that one person who had the same problem with the storagecard cabs install. (I did this last know, khmm, 2-3 in the morning, so if I missed a post what is just about this then apologies) So because of this I think probably the problems come from my device, or related to it.

I have a big storage card and there is a lot of junk on it already, can it be the source of the problems? If anyone have any idea or suggestion what to try that is very welcome.


Anyway Ansar you put together a very good fast rom. I dont realy like vista ( the OS). But this ROM looks good, the customization is logical and usable.
