Did you install the carrier cab? Carrier Cabs Here (http://lifesnotsogood.com/dcd1182/carriers/)
Also... go to Settings.... Connections... Connections... Advanced... and edit the Verizon Wireless connection. It should dial #777.... then on the screen that asks for it... Username = Phone#@vzw3g.com Password = vzw Domain= Leave Blank

To make things easier, you can also use the Connection Wizard to get everything going.

Probably just a stupid hash that makes the user that knows no better think the password is long.... LOL

Click on the menu and hit USE GPS. when it actually connects and finds you... you will be able to use 'My Location'. It just centers the screen on you... as far as I know.

Make sure in your phone settings you have it set to "location on" and not "911 Only."

im guessing if you talked to verizon they already told you what youre supposed to have for your username and password. did you install the carrier cab? is 'Verizon Wireless' selected as your default networks?

I'm on verizon and the carrier cab worked for me. Other than doing *228 with Option 1 and letting it reprogram your phone... I can't think of anything else besides those connection settings. If you have another verizon phone that isn't connected... go to the website and activate that phone on the same #... basically killing the current 6800.... after the "New" phone is up and running... then switch back.... *228 , 1... *228 , 2.. and also verify your settings for the internet connection.

hmm well im goin to bed so i cant wait for your response. assuming youre using radio 3.42.50 (if not then update it)
1) reinstall your radio
2) dial *22899 right after the phone reboots
try to connect in Google Maps. make sure your outside clear skies all that (you should still be able to lock if its cloudy.) and if you haven't applied GC's fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400975), do it.

2) Radio
3) Software ROM

From what I read, *22899 is the same thing as *228 , 1. It just keeps you from having to dial 1. But, it still doesn't hurt.

No data? You need a DMU Reset probably if you've tried everything else.
if you have a spare Verizon phone laying around.... go online to your account and activate it on the number the 6800 is on. This should kill the 6800. After the "new" phone is up and running.... then go back online and "Re-activate" your 6800. *228 option 1, *228 Option 2, then check your connection settings for the correct username password. Username = Phone#@vzw3g.com password = vzw. Leave the Domain field blank.

no dice :(
So im instaling from the TITA100 SPL 2.4 no2chem bootloader from the SD card.
I did Radio, ROM, CAB. then all the activations and still no dice. does this sound like user error or something from within verizion?
Im thinking about rolling back to the "Out of the box" Rom and see if that may resolve this. or will it brick me?

when you are looking at "Your Account" Look at the section to the right that says support. Click on the link that says "MORE".... then under Phones and Devices... you'll see "Activate Phone". Then you have equipment upgrades and existing or replacement.... I think that's obvious. Has to be existing... LOL

The compatibility list shows the minimum requirements. If you are a Verizon wireless customer... you should load this radio 3.42.50 (http://lifesnotsogood.com/dcd1182/titan/radios/Titan%20Radio%20ROM%203.42.50.rar). Honestly, I don't believe the Radio is carrier specific. But I know this one works on Verizon.

saw this in the wiki, I guess im just gona have to wait for verizion.
P: I upgraded my phone and I receive a "PPP" error 11 connection error.
S: Switching to Rev A sometimes causes the data connection on the local network switch to hang. First verify that Username and password are correct. Then call your provider and indicate that your data session is not working. The support people will need to get the network support techs to reset your data session on the local switch. There is nothing you can do on your end.
Thank you so much for all the help, best service ever.
ya im gona leave it on 3.42.50 does the GPS still work without the data connection?
I wanted to try and test it out

Also let it run 5 minutes, if no lock, close and reopen the app. I find a lot of times I'll sit there forever, however if I just close and reopen the app, suddenly I have a lock. Happened today 2x and once lastnight.

yup. I agree. The GPS Radio locks up. Then when you reset the "connection" it helps wake it up.

We need to get one of the developers (BAF, etc) to study this, watch for what it's doing when it's "locked" up and then trigger the restart. Use this like what BAF has now where it's on or off, and then with the extra routing that watches for lockups, I bet it will lock faster.
If I watch it in HTC Gps software or Holux's software, I see data streaming constantly, so it would have to watch and know what to look for the difference in locked up and locked.
I think this would be the end all be all tool of GPS software. Anyone get me source code for a tool for GPS? (Something like BAF's code if he has released the source). I would be glad to take a look at it, can't promise I can fix it myself, but can at least get an idea of what needs to work in what order for normal GPS functions, and then maybe figure out where to insert the new code at.
Thanks,
BTC

SOLUTION:
Turns out the 1st tech at VZW as always didnt fix the problem correctly.
I migrated from the Q (smartphone) to a VX6800 (PocketPC)
well they didn't fix my data plan at the store, cuz apparently there are 2 different data rates for the phones. So the 1st tech didnt see a problem with that, and nether did tech 2 or 3, but tech 4 was like hold on a sec.
So he kills the data line and applys the new data package, I reactivated and it was back on immediately.
but as for reactivate your old phone then reactivate your new phone, thats essentially what happened. in that sudo kind of way. anyway just wanted to post this in case anyone else was haveing major issues.
and yes it prety much all boiled down to my lost AUTH KEYS cuz it thought I was a smartphone not a pocketPC.

I updated my verizon xv6800, installed the carrier cab, can make calls but have no data connection.
When I go into my connections settings, there is no "manage existing connections" listing as was there before I flashed this new rom. What do I need to do to add a connection?
Edit: Nevermind, my carrier cab did not install properly for some reason. I re-downloaded and re-installed it and it now works fine.
