Of the three recent radios which one (3.42.40 or .50 or .30) is the best to use with a Sprint Mogul?
Does anyone know what primary differences or improvements that one radio has over another?
Do the different radios have different affects on battery life at all?
Do I get improved reception with one radio over another?
Can anyone say, without doubt, that one of the three radios is hands down better than the other two?
Again, I am mostly concerned about the affects on a Sprint Mogul.

I was wondering the same thing.
Reception is a bigger deal for me as i live in a rural area.
Battery life is secondary.

some people state that they have much better GPS locks starting with 3.42 and up I myself is running .50 and can lock gps sats in less then 10 seconds. Reception is the same, there is not difference in my area. I travel through rural areas and have had no issues with reception.
If I were you, I would run each one and see which one you like!!!!

any testing of the radio without monitoring the right measurements will be purely a waste of time.
Honestly, if it works fine, that should be good enough. Radio measurements fluctuate so rapidly and user testing is so subjective that any "opinion" would be meaningless.

Couldnt agree more. You can be standing in 1 spot and the radio strength fluctuates. They all work fine.

.50 is from a vogue and ported successfully to a titan.
.40 is newer than .30 if that matters or if you think it means anything.
I prefer .50 to .30 w/o scientific testing.
I've heard good stuff about .40 on the GPS front and may try it soon.

I get incredible GPS reception with .40 vs .50. It locks in 15 seconds and is much more consistent. I would recomend .40 over any radio and I have tried them all. No placebo affect. Am sure of it.
Running DCD 3.5.2

Pretty good info so far guys. But does carrier (mine is Sprint), or flavor of Titan factor in to which radio will function best?
In other words, does a radio released for a Vogue work just as well on a Mogul?

i have noticed absolutely no difference in reception or gps sync or battery life with the .40 vs. .50 vs. .30, but i did notice that .50 freezes my phone .. a lot, while the others don't.

I'd say its near impossible to really get an idea of GPS lock times in relation to radio versions. The lock is dependent on so many factors. Weather conditions, relative satellite position, distance from your last lock position, time interval from lock to lock, indoors / outdoors, the orientation of the antenna, how much of the horizon you are exposed to...
If you have a chance to use a dedicated GPS you will find that the lock times are variable even with a unit dedicated to finding the sats. Its the nature of the beast.

I went from .50 to .40 for a day and I see no difference at all.

In most cases if ported properly: yes. But remember the vogue is a different device. The titan is the mogul is the xv6800 etc.
Once unlocked and flashed the only difference is the casing and settings. So you shouldn't see a difference. Though use whatever you feels is best.

I had good results with .50, but since switching to .40 a couple days ago locks seem to be a bit slower for me. Plan to go back to .50, but that's just my opinion. Never had freezing issues with any radios. I turn on the GPS once a day at the same time from the same location. I did this for 4 or 5 days with both .40 & .50. After 24 hours downtime, .50 seemed to lock quicker for me. About 30 sec with .50 vs. 60 sec with .40. Not really a huge difference.

Has anyone noticed a difference in battery life with the different radios? I nstalled .50 a few days ago and found my battery drained super fast, so changed to .40 and find I am at my normal battery consumption. I only tested .50 for 2 days (requiring 2 full charges), but thought I would get feedback before trying it again.

The talked about bootloader and radio are for the xv6800 not the xv6900. You need to look in the vogue section.
