View Full Version : WM 6.1 and Exch2007 ActivSync error - Any way to use 6.0 AS?

With certain Exchange 2007 configurations WM 6.1 experiences an error with sending messages. Basically when an email is sent the Activesync window locks up on a white screen and the message will stay in the outbox getting resent every time the phone syncs. The only way to stop the message from being resent is to go to the outbox and manually delete the message.

MS is releasing a patch (not until Nov/Dec though) and is allowing people to request it now. I work for a large company though that will not install the patch until it has been extensively tested, and who may wonder why I reflashed my phone anyway ;)

I am currently using Kumaras ROM and am very happy with it, and the issue is not ROM specific at all (happened for me on Dutty's and Laurentius's ROMS as well).

This issue however is forcing me to go back to 6.0, but I would love to stay with the 6.1 ROMs that are being released.

So my question is - does anyone know of any alternative to Activesync that connects with exchange, or any way to downgrade Activesync that would correct this?

I don't think there will be any client side fix, but thought I would ask before I start researching the 6.0 ROMs.

Oh and feel free to recommend a 6.0 ROM! It's been ahwile so I can't remember - I think Alex's were my favorites but it has been many flashes since I tried one.

Cheers,
Matt

well technically, a chef cannot just drop in AS from WM6.0 into a WM6.1 ROM.

activesync is not its own package. parts of it are in OS and Shell. replacing OS and Shell with WM6.0 components would kind of defeat the purpose.

Has anyone found a client side fix for this other than dowgrading to a 6.0 ROM.
