I just purchased an HTC Touch Pro and have some observations about it compared to my Touch Cruise which I've used with good success for over 6 months.
The TP screen is slightly smaller -- probably evident if I'd looked at the specs more closely but I was a bit surprised to have them side by side and realize this. The VGA on the TP overcomes any loss in screen area -- the display is quite clear and the lettering crisp. Since it's the same as the Diamond this is probably "old news" for most.
The TP is narrower and slightly shorter than the TC. Surprisingly, its added thickness due to the keyboard is hardly noticeable.
Have to admit I'm a bit disappointed by the TF3D compared to my TC -- perhaps it's just my normal usage pattern (I've always been comfortable with a stylus and use a combination stylus/pen/pencil) since I regularly use my finger/finger nail for many things on my TC with good success. The TF3D is slick and the graphics are nice -- love the weather display. But I'm considering setting it up like my TC w/o the TF3D because I find there are limitations that don't match what I'm used to with Wisbar/PocketBreeze/PocketWeather. I need to practice with the TF3D some more to ensure it's not just my unfamiliarity with it since its finger commands are far more comprehensive than the TC capabilities.
There is no question in my mind that HTC has done a great job of packaging and presenting this jewel. Although in many ways it's similar to the TC, it just seems more slick and "refined" -- comfortable to hold and use -- the keyboard is really good -- a worthy competitor to the iphone IMHO.
But..... is the ~$1K price worth what I "gain" over the TC -- I'm not yet convinced it is.
