I accidentally made a generous bid on a 800w on eBay (I am stupid). While the phone is still really useful without the phone functions (GPS, Wi-Fi, frontal keyboard, better speed than TyTN), I was wondering if I could make it work with Rogers in Canada without having some undesirable people to knock at my door..
Auction is there, as you can see I'm currently the high bidder...

Lesson learned.

Isn't Rogers GSM? Like AT&T and T-Mobile in the US? Sprint uses CDMA, which is totally different. Not cross-compatible.

Yeah, I discovered that later. I tought CDMA was for backward-ish carriers.
Anyway if I can find a better deal (he seems to have tons of them), I'll buy one for the GPS, Wi-Fi and all the stuff that make this phone an incredible one.
It looks like Palm finally understood something about what we want, need and ask for. It's been a while! :)

I don't think that it will work in France cause in western europe the cell phones are equipped with a so called SIM-Card instead of a ESN. This means Your carrier gives you the SIM-Card (which contains Your phone number) and this will work in every phone (but some phones are temporarily blocked for other carriers with SIM-Lock).
It might be that the carrier (there is only o2) in the czech republic works with ESN.
