[Q] HP 6965 chinese to english. HELP ME please!

Hey all I'm fairly new here and I just got a iPaq 6965 shipped to me from Taiwan, unfortunately it is all in chinese and I can't read it so I need it in english.

Someone please tell me how i can change the language as I can't read anything or function my phone. I already searched and I'm confused by the whole 'rom' ordeal and I saw a thread stating that downloading these roms could harm your phone so I'm not sure what to do. Please help me!

If your Flash chip type is G4, you can use ENG V1.21UK rom to update, I have uploaded the rom to Yahoo.com mail box.

I have changed my 6965 CHT ver to ENG ver successfully.

You can login yahoo mail box by using hp_ipaq@yahoo.com as id and 69656965 as password.

Pls note not to delete the rom as others might need it too.

Flsah method:

1. Sync your mobil with PC by ActiveSync4.5 or up
2. Double click the downloaded update rom programme.
3. Click upgrade button and wait for 8-10 minutes
4. Done.

False alert I think, http://us.mg2.mail.yahoo.com/dc/CG_Cookie.swf is from yahoo site, impossible a threat! For sure your C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe will access to web while surfing on internet!

Hi I tried to install the rom update. It errors out saying Client_GetOSVer fail !! Error: 501 and my phone is stuck the screen shows vG39. What do I do?? Thanks for the help

1: hold down the 2 function buttons on either side of the joystick (NOT the call answer and call kill buttons, between them )
2: while holding the buttons down, use the pen and press the reset button at the bottom of the phone.
You should now have a bootloader screen, with an HP logo, and SERIAL or USB line of text at the top, and a G.39 version text at the bottom of the screen....
Activsync need not be connected at this stage, just your USB cradle or cable....
3: Download and extract the _Sable___G3_DEVICE_ONLY_hw6915-1.21uk.rar file from above... remember to delete the files from folder - CEBL.nbf, RadioFS.nbf, RadioOS.nbf..
4: run the sableRUU.exe ... this will now install the CE OS in english....

Hi I tried delete the files from folder - CEBL.nbf, RadioFS.nbf, RadioOS.nbf.
The folder have this file.:
1). EnterBL Application
2). GetDevic Application
3). CEOS.nbf
4). Sable_RUU, when I run Sable_RUU get this errors out saying Client_GetOSVer fail !! Error: 501 and my phone is stuck the screen shows USB HP Logo and vG39
And I cant hard reset, the small reset bottom are broken :mad:
How do I get it back??

after this update will the phone be fully functional ? Including GSM ? On some other thread it said to remove some files from the update before flashing.
