Just so you know.
Am running EnergyROM Genesis and this app works with 6.5.
Just installed and testing it.
Not sure how it all works yet but it does show the running apps and animations switching between them.

Hey, is there any way of making this awesome app compatible with WM 6.5(1). It stopped working after about build 21815 (WM 6.5) when I try it with newer builds 23028 I get an error....

I was using it earlier today with build 23047, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547846

He built/added the program into the ROM. Not sure if that's what makes the difference. Let me also add that I only used it to switch programs and didn't try closing one or more programs because I didn't know how to do it at the time. I'd test it right now, but I've already switched to another ROM.

it doesn't work well with wm6.5. when run, it often shows the window saying :NullReferenceException

Works great! How would I map it to run with the tap of the END key on a T-mobile USA Rhodium? I don't ever use my END key because I have a HOME button so I would love to have it run this awesome program.

Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Buttons

Then you can chose to have it triggered by the End key's long press, Send key's long press, or some other button.

You can't make it activate on the End key short press, because, well, you have to be able to end a call! I have mine mapped to the Send key long press, works wonderfully!

OH, You're on the EnergyROM too. Map it to the Send key long press, like I did. The End key in the EnergyROM's brings up that special menu for things, so it complicates the button mapping. Got it?

gps-lover,

Is there any option to see a newer version of this wonderful application?

Until now it is giving an increasing size on gwes.exe which drives in problems at correct display (I tried it with several different ROMs in WM6.1 and WM6.5)

Would you be able to link it with the accelerometer so when you shake the phone, it would bring up TaskFacade?

The GWES.exe RAM leak is related to Windows Mobile. I highly, highly doubt that TaskFacade could cause GWES to leak RAM.

When I'm using TaskFacade, the more I use it the more the size of gwes.exe is growing. After a certain point, graphics starts to not displaying properly.
If then I terminate TaskFacade, gwes.exe is shrinking a couple of MegaBytes (up to 10MB!!!) and graphics displays as they should.

is gwes.exe a process without interface? of so, i haven't go a proper task maager to check it.
btw, i didn't notice any ram issue, nor any graphics issue, excepting some with the notifications, but I'm not sure they are related to taskfacade

gwes.exe stands for 'Graphical Windowing and Event System'.
You can check it size via memmaid to see if it is growing too much or not.

Yes, I know. My question was about the screen proportion. Default TF themes use 4:3 screenshots, which are ugly because the screenshot is stretched (wvga is ~16:10). I've prevented it to happen in my theme, but I wanted to know if it had been done before.

Yep, it's a nice theme! I like it, works well on the Touch Pro 2.

Developer - Once you do get time to work on this project again, maybe consider making the app like the Palm Pre? I loved how that multitasked. Nevertheless, it'll be cool if you update this app to be even faster, if possible!

I've installed TaskFacade 4 on my HTC Tilt 2. It works well for the most part. The AuroraWVGA and HTC Theme WVGA themes look great. I'm using the 4.0.1b version of TF4.

One problem that I've encountered is on soft reset. TF4 comes up on the screen and stays there. I have to exit TF4 to get to the TouchFLO 3D home screen. Other than that, it seem to work well.

Very nive app, runs smooth on Xperia X1 :)
I've assigned it to the right underscreen key, it's really wonderful !

A little suggestion : it's missing some RAM informations on it (like for example "63% used") that would be soooo useful

First of all, this is a really terrific program. I've looked at a bunch of different task switcher solutions and this is by FAR the best. :) Well done!

One minor annoyance, I'd prefer to launch TaskFacade with startup so it's ready to go the first time I need it, but on my TP2 TaskFacade seems to go into a endless loop when I do this because there's no programs open for it to display. It's as if it gets stuck running through what to show since there's nothing there. If I have at least one app open and launch it then it's fine, it just can't deal with none. Is there a way to patch this for a future version? Probably as easy as having it just stay in the background if it calculates there's nothing visble to display.

How is everyone's battery life with this? Not sure if it's the program or not but my battery life seems to be worse after a full charge after installing it. I took it off the charger this morning and went out for about an hour and when I came back home, it showed 95%. Normally it would be about 98-99%. Did not use the phone at all by the way. Will keep using to see if it gets any better. Wonderful program, hopefully it isn't impacting battery life so I can keep using it.

I very much like this app! Using it without any severe problems on my HD2. The only issue I have: It seems the HD2 is far too fast for the animation to be visible: The switch to open apps is instantanous - even if I set the animation frames to 20 (higher values are not possible). Is there anything I can do about this?

Heh, I have the same problem. Looks like the dev abandoned the project about a year ago, so I decompiled it, increased the max number of frames, and added a sleep statement between frames. 99.9% of the code is by gps dude who wrote it.

Anyway, check it out.

Guys, look around the thread before you post. Don't think you are the first reporting the dead link. If you are not willing to read the last few posts just use the search feature provided on the top right (3rd option from the right, just under your username).

There is a post a few pages back where Spacepants was nice enough to decompile the abandoned project, update it, and post back a link to the newer application.

For MAX speed, set:

Menu -- Options -- (more>>) -- System -- "Animation frames" -- set: 0

If you don´t see any configuration menu, only tap in a empty area while Taskfacade is open

Important: for the best speed, use Teksoft´s "SpeedBooster" (shareware), set TaskFacade priority 1 step before max priority, and voilá.
If AEButton is used to remap and invoque TF, set it also at high priority (in my TP1, TF runs with the Enter button [double click]

Use Spacepant´s TaskFacade 4.02 mood
