i use ppcpimbackup to save all my txts, and it works fine. but after reflashing my phone and restoring my backup, it takes about 2 hours for the texting app to sort all of my messages automatically. is this normal and the same for everyone else or is there something that can be done to speed it up?

I have the same issue with 1800 messages using Jeyo SMS Backup. The only way I speed it up is to turn off all power save options, IE... on battery power... turn phone off... etc. Disable them. same with S2U2 if you use it. Disable the auto locking. then I make sure nothing is running... run the restore in Jeyo SMS backup... and let it sit there.... without doing anything else. It helps

You guys should check out Dashwire.....it backs up your SMS, contacts and videos and pics, call logs and speed dials....it does not put them back on the phone though (but at least you wont have to save 1800 to the PIM).....you can access the site and text from there also and it keeps all of them.....it is still in beta but they are always making improvements....just a suggestion....its not exactly a b/u....but if you leave it running it automatically it sends them to the site along with call logs, etc........you can find it over at PPCGeeks with a running thread on it...:D
