Is this part need to protect the phone?

I dropped my phone today and I lost the little black "dot" on upper left of the back door (see picture).

Does anybody know if this piece protects the phone.Should I buy a new cover or can I just leave it that way?

It's the cover for the connector that will connect to a car antenna. I don't think it's a big deal.

no this really doesnt matter but if u want and new one u can buy a new back piece on ebay for about 4 dollars
