Just a short question: if the ROM has animation screen, like in 1.5 version with HTC and Windows Mobile 6 screen at starting, does this mean that the boot takes a longer time? Probabilly is just me, but in older version, without animated screen it seemed to boot faster.

As many others, waiting patiently for the download link... probabilly checking every 15 minutes with patience :)

I think I'm living a sabotage down here...:eek: Sounds funny isn't? But after I cover all main functions and start uploading, YT player suddenly stopped to work stating: No videos!! That's crazy!

So, it means a bit more time to understand this behaviour guys...
Sorry about that...but confess being first time I see this error....No clues yet but sounds YT is doing a maintenaince for instance....:(

Anyone noticed a mem. leak in Opera background service? Could be something wrong with this Opera build. Noticed that mem. consumption was at 90% and after I killed the service it went down to 62%

Guys,

It sounds YT is outage for some reason which I don't know what is. I'm assuming this coz you all using different ROMs are facing the same issue. YT on mine was working fine until last night and suddenly crashed with that error "No Videos" message. I also tried connect through my Wife's Touch and got the same thing. So, many devices using different ROMS couldn't be a only a coincidence. On my opinion, definitely not.

It seems a Google problem or even a database outage like the one faced in August 2006.

Anyone got a fresh news about this problem? Please share!:cool:

Actually Opera FULL is a lot more usable than Mini... I would also prefer the Opal dialer. So far I had only 1 (one) videocall in my life in order to see if it's working and I don't see any reason to make a second one :)

You could possibly include Opera as an optional install since it's downloadable from Operas web page. Anyhow... the memory leak might only affect the build in 1.4, dunno.

I voted Opera default... Opera Mini is unknown to me by now, but I shall try it to see. If IE6 proves to be a good alternative, than it won't really matter if is Opera mini or Opera mobile. If we have Opera Mini default, coud we install Opera 9.5 if we want? If yes, it doesn't really matter which Opera is in the ROM. If Opera 9.5 has a memory leak than it's a problem... Waiting for the ROM

While waiting for your new rom (hope you have managed the catastrophies), could you please let me know what is the best radio for your roms.

I have had the 1.4 Pro installed and already tasted your 1.5 but after a while my signal is lost totally.

I am using radio 1.59.42.15, but something is not working and I don't know why. Even after soft resets I have no signal at all. Only a hard reset helps (but this is not a solve).

Hope you can help me in this problem, this is not the first tiem it happens to me.

I always like to follow what is said by Alltheway in his RADIO thread at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182

According to him, the most and reliable RADIO is actually what better works in your device. Carriers treat this funtion very carefully most times with specific hardware and local settings. It means that you may have a great reception, signal, etc..with a radio made by your local carrier and shipped in devices sold localy. On the other side, different radios like these latest ones 42.15 / 42.23 could work even better. You should test them all ans compare. I suggest you read this thread I mention to understand how it works. My ROM for instance has great signal down here where I live, Sao Paulo. It doesn't mean that a local radio made by my carrier couldn't be even better. :rolleyes:

Finally I finished V1.5:) Guess you will all love it coz on my opinion is faster than my previous works...

I spent a time searching and digging trying to find the better balance in terms of performance between M2D interface and scroll function without lags or freezes. Lots of tweaks..
I'm satisfied with final results. But as usual, feedbacks are always welcome! So, please share bad or good impressions!;)
Like I said before, that's a way to keep improvements....:cool:

"Microsoft has patched the bug in Windows Mobile 6.1 where the email database could become corrupt and you are unable to send emails via POP3 or IMAP4 through an SMTP server. Outlook/Exchange emails, as well as SMS/MMS messages were unaffected. There is a 105KB CAB file to copy to your device and install from there or a 652KB MSI file to install while docked to your PC. In this new 1.5 i have great problems to open album, it is very slow to see picture, I have to do a reset
In 1.5 old vers. and other tested rom i had no problems.

Update: I think the problem is related to accessing the microSD card some how. Searching files seems very slow even with the music tab, usually my music is found after few seconds from the first boot. But with this ROM it's stuck at searching for 4mins so far without finding any of the music in the card.

SD Reading is always a lazy process compared to main memory. :)

I'm now testing newer versions from audio and album applications...
I performed a test over my SD and it takes time to read all music content like said before.:eek:
It seems no one knows how to explain that as others using a 8GB card got quick access.

So, I'll also dig registry and back to you guys later on ok?

Please check your HTCHomeSettings.xml file, look for id#17 under the Weather Widget. The value should be either "0,25,240,205" or "58,15,165,25" depends on your device screen resolution. Hope this helps.

What today screen? M2D should be your today screen now ...but if you mean the WM usual today screen, just go to the Setting Today and disable the TouchFlo.

MMS V 5.0.63 installed but didn't come with those folders. :(
This is the newest one around and is working fine on my Wife's touch just updated. So, it may be related to the 931 build as also some other weird things happening....:rolleyes:
Need more feedbacks to ensure what's wrong...

Hi Epimazzo, I'm currently on your 1.4 where the autofill name when composing new sms is not working (minor bugs compared to best overall :D) and doing check names resulting to auto close composing sms window. Have it fixed in 1.5? Love you ROM, keep up the good work.

this is a problem in 1.4, old 1.5 and now this new 1.5.
i think UDK's roms also suffer from it, and also other roms for other devices based on wm 6.1.
i've done a lot of googling on it and have come up with nothing. Epimazzo, do you think you can please have a look into it? your inside knowledge of these devices is much better than mine!

Firstly Epimazzo, thank you very much for the rom, and also many thanks to your wife for letting you dedicate yourself to this forum.

a few problems that i have seen so far:

***In Messaging (outlook and SMS) it is impossible to select messages by dragging the stilus down/up the screen.
***Also, can scroll up or down the list of messages using finger/stilus as we could in other roms.

***Messaging has the bug which occurs when clicking Menu> Check Names after entering a few letters of a contact's name. After doing this, Messaging exits. this affects both SMS and Outlook.

***Device appears to freeze sometimes. i have just done a soft reset and haven't experienced it so far so i'll have to confirm this...

Everything else is great, love the new splash screen.

Fist of all, congratulations my friend for the ROM. It is the best ROM I have ever used, despite of the sd card acces problem. It is fast, the touchscreen seems more responsive, nice logo ;) . I find bug in email - if attachement is .htm or .html, it doesnt open. I set file association for .htm and .html to Opera9.exe. .htm file saved to documents opens OK from Resco Explorer but from email not :(

It is the very old trick :D
Open your Activesync on your device. Open Menu then select Add Server Source, please fill in any "fake" information when requested. Click OK when finished. Back to Menu you will find that the Schedule option is now clickable. Open it and set the schedule to Manually. It is done.

You can delete the fake server after then.

Yes, I think this is a known issue, I believe that Epimazzo is working on it now. I'm using R4 at the moment, no problem with SD card, but zipping and unzipping operation felt slow compared to others.

Yup, I'm using 3.18 drivers in this 20931 Build version. I also applied new tweaks. If you are talking about touch.dll being hacking around...I'm already looking on it....no doubt to include it if we got a stable OS after cooking.;)

That's true at least on this release that Album and Audio are both too slow. Mine happens at the same way. So, already tried with newer versions and nothing. I had better response using 20757 Build which I'm not intend to use right away..but I'm thinking seriously to work again with only official builds....anyway.....

Just let you know that I'm aware off these performance issues I'm doing everything I can to solve it. I work better during week coz weekends are normaly family time if you know waht I mean....LOL!!!

There're something I wanna do with older versions of these apps.....then, give a time to put in order all these things!

I'm using 1.5 Light, but will switch back to 1.4 light due to the microSD card slow down issue.

1. First thing I noticed that the HTC keyboards are not removed from the Light ROM.
2. SMS account is missing the "sent" folder
3. in the call status window the text on the buttons have dark red colors.
4. ROM is generally slower(maybe caused by the card issue)

This 1.5 version was problematic from the begining, both 2 versions had problems... so may I suggest that the next build will be 1.6 :)
There are problems but I'm sure epimazzo will fix them in the new release (when he will have time). This rom is verry well balanced
having almost all the software I need in it. Happy to see that SyncroTime is back. What I am missing in it is a good file explorer.
The one from WM isn't that finger friendly, total commander isn't either. Also a registry editor could be in it, I know that many people don't use it,
but sometimes some tweaks need to be made.
In the current 1.5 version I like the way my device is acting whan touching the screen, it feels more easy to touch the screen, more responsive,
this could be because of reg keys for touch.dll, but olso some other tweaks made by our cooker. Looking forward for the new version :)

Folders missed could be probably replaced as SMS threaded feature is now enable..so they could cut off on this build.

Formated SD Card to FAT32 from the memory card reader on the PC. It shows no improvement to me...

I have about 7 albums on the card now, AudioManager has all of the details, songs / playlists / artists / album / genre and composers and plays without a problem.

The main thing is that I only restored cabs and mp3's and then re-installed all of the apps.

Still working like a dream now.. even M2D is working fine on my phone.

The only problem I have is that the activesync is still on all of the time, after installing ActiveSync PainKiller, but I will check into whether I installed it properly before I can say more on that.

Hey bro! Great job of ur rom building, but i find 2 issue abt the v1.5 lite version,
1. Recent program in the start menu is disappear since everytime i do a soft reset.
2. When i make a video call, for the front camera, i saw myself and everything is turn "45 degree clockwise", if use the back camera, i saw everything is "upside down"

All requests mentioned here are available in Lite Version of any Build I release. There's no need to be worry about it. Just install Lite one and you won't have M2DC installed. :)
VC is planned to be installed and available on both versions....:cool:

Yup...unfortunately that´s a fact and real. It´s a leaked version which takes time to be stable and free of bugs. We are here omong other things to test these builds...I´m considering back to 757, the latest official one.

No. You cannot call it buggy. The missing sent & delete folders in poutlook may be the begining of era of compulsary threaded SMS. Except of this issue I dont find anything troubling in 20931.

I and shekhar for instance had talked a lot about this build. I had played with different ones like the latest official 757 and the 931 is still superior in terms of performance. But 757 is more stable on my opinion. Also, I got rid from most issues we discussed here related to 931. Tests are on going and I'll decide later what to do...

I don't know if this was already mentioned here but in addition to SD slowness I found a bug in File Explorer. When you lanch some program by clicking on its exe in the file explorer and then quit from this program, some portions of the file explorer screen are not restored and graphics from the program remain there.

Dear friend, may I suggest that you put the Accesories and Toolbox in just one folder... either Accesories either Toolbox.. I always enter in the wrong one whan searching for a program :D . And as I asked before, Pool page size must be 12 MB ? 4 MB wouldn't do it ? ;)

There is no problem with viruses or trojans, some antiviruses make false alarms for CustomRUU. Just disable the antivirus when flashing...

I just tried this theme for manilla Stickerz http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2956407&postcount=1 it looks great, it moves great.

The att Dark file is missing from the compressed folder. This is the error that I get after downloading and trying to extract and open the files. The others are working properly.
Can you checkif something needs to be done to extract the files.

Yup...2808 is around but with minor bugs...I really do not feel such improvement change Opera builds so often. I prefer wait for a stable and good one....probably not the time yet...;)

From 20xxx builds, PP size is complicated. HTC seems to have changed the way you modify hex address so no one can find the right one to change. Available Program memory above 84 is only possible if you modify the correct hex address which me and others are still searching how....and where....for now, no clues..:o

Still performing several tests over 931/757 and 758 builds to ensure no bugs affect us at all. In V1.4, SD access is so fast. I'm digging to find out what is causing that slow access in 757 and 931 builds. No clues yet...but I'm working on it...:p
IE is faster than IE6. On my opinion. Opera Mini at the time I used was so faster than his father one..course. For me, Opera is still ahead from IE. Opera features are the best ones around...although IE most cases and when accessing some web pages, is faster.;)

I don't use to play games a lot in PPC. But I'll consider maybe one more...just a tiny!:D

Dear friend, may I suggest that you put the Accesories and Toolbox in just one folder... either Accesories either Toolbox.. I always enter in the wrong one whan searching for a program :D . And as I asked before, Pool page size must be 12 MB ? 4 MB wouldn't do it ? ;)

Did you try via Wi-Fi? For me it works only via Wi-Fi or USB. With 3G connection I have the same problem as you described.

It is not a difficult one...actually is so simple.:D

I just discarded the WMP skin I used to use and replaced back with the original skin. There was a file which Manilla and also Album was seeking that caused that error. So, all you have to do is discard the Diamond skin if you usr it and replace for the original WMP skin and files. That's all I did.;)

I have Galarm 0.9.5 in my Polaris - no problems at all. All my song are on sd-card and I don't see any issue. Meybe there is a bug in the latest bulid of Galarm. If you want i can send you my version for testing. I'm not sure if AGEye have download archive of older vesions of Galarm.

I'm working in the next release over 931. Got some improvement over that SD access issue but I confess not been confortable yet. As I don't like many things and stuff included, I have to dig myself cutting and cutting and cutting. It takes time and time and time....

Well, let me tell you something regarding RADIOs. The best one is actually what is best for you and not necessarily what others use or even HTC release. Sometimes works better and fine....sometimes not. You should judge by yourself in a daily baisis use.

In my case for instance, I'm still using 1.59.42.15 coz works fine over my area. You should think at the same way. We are talking about signals. I tried latest one I confirm on mine didn't work at all. Calls are mute.

About V1.6: I'll release probably by the weekend or if I have chance by tomorrow so you guys can have fun during the whole weekend!

It'll be based on 1.60 drivers using shekhar's structure. Still 20931. SD seems ok now and without Cube and other HTC stuff like recorder, ZIP, etc...
It'll bring at least 60 to 63mb program memory free from the 101mb available. nice isn't?:D

That's all for while folks...

And regarding GUI, I'll be using shekhar's md2 theme as default but I'll include extra themes in windows so you can install later if you wish!

This sounds great. I gave shekhar's ROM a try and it's really smooth and fast. The battery indicator is awsome... would love to see it in your rom also. As I've seen there are some problems with locking/unlocking, if there are, you could include S2U2 with some nice theme ;) Looks like a busy weekend... waiting for 1.6. Nice to have you back ;)

Ok i have to agree in this point. but the 1.59.42.15 is a lot better than the 1.58.XX and with the ROM from c_shekhar only 1.58.XX will work!! Or is it also possible to use the 1.59.XX?

By saying that I wait for a ROM, it doesn't mean I am "unpatient". I am aware that our cooker has his family, job, another 1000 things more important to do. It's just a way of saying that epimasso's work is apreciated and waited, that he has fans that are using polaris better than ever expected.

I'm engaged in two projects beyond be a father, husband and cooker!
A friend of mine gave me two Nikes just out of the box and a new challenge: Boot an android!:eek:
So, you can imagine how flexible is my time now....LOL
Course, I'm around by during weekends..you all know that is most times difficult work while your kids are jumping around, wanting to play and your wife pushing you away from machines, right? LOL!:p
Anyway...I finished V1.6 already over 20931 build but I decided not release because I wanted to split a bit more modules and apps to gain extra performance. Meanwhile, 20764 from Touch HD is out as well as a new set of 20931 drivers. So, I'll look into these guys first and then after play a little, I release 1.6. It shoud be this week. Next one I"ll be totally off for Christimas time.!:rolleyes:
Regarding 20940, sounds a fake build. Rumors tell us that someone from another Forum had changed DSM files in a way that a new 20940 Build could be created. Actually it comes from a 20933 drivers. I got a Hermes Kitchen with 20940 on it but 0804 (Chinese). I'm swaping now to 0409. It takes time and patient. That's all news so far...

You have right. As you see in my signature, I bought a Nokia E71. It's fast, stable, with big battery and it's clever enough for me...
Polaris need me for navigation, IGO8. But Garmin on my E71 is not so bad...

I was off for Christmas time with family for sure. Back yesterday and I know that I have a lot to do with custom roms....I'm reading and updating forum news...so, I'll start something very soon...

O, what good news that you've returned. No matter what ROM's I try, I get back to your's. I have noticed that ROMs that have the older drivers (the ones that work only with 1.58..xx.xx radio) are fast and smooth. I would say that this is the way... but you know way better(although there are people who complain about old radios and claim that the latest one is great, great signal, great gps).Good to have you back

Good news around....finally! :p

v1.6 is practically ready for uploading...:D
I'm also start cooking v2 based on 21014 build.
That will be 2 new ROMS at the same time! ;)
