This ROM can be dumped and recooked. Unlike many of the cooks, no RGU have been deleted. No DSM has been deleted. And most of all, the ROM has not been crippled against dumping by deleting IMGFS signatures. So feel free to dump and modify upto your taste. And share the knowledge with the community. We can improve more by sharing the knowledge than keeping it secret.

Installation:

How to install a cooked ROM.

Put device in bootloader mode.
Run Polaris_CustomRUU.exe and good luck.

- High recommend to reflash an official rom before flash this one.

- If you change some thing, you have to wait for a minute before restarting to make sure the device get your changes.

TouchFLO Tweaks

Q. I want to slide through Contacts smoothly with my fingernail.

A. In the registry, change HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\FingerPressure to 5000 or higher. Or simply start Advanced Configuration (found in Onyx Ultimate), go to HTC TouchFLO options and change Finger Pressure from there.

Q. YouTube videos are slow and choppy.

A. In Youtube, go to the video settings menu (gear-shaped icon on the top right), and select 'Fast Download'. The image quality will be reduced but the playback will be much better.

Q. Windows Media Player or Audio Manager stops playing music when I turn off the device.

A. Use the included psShutXP to turn only the backlight off, so your music will play uninterrupted. (Note: a faster way to launch psShutXP is to hold down the power button for a few seconds)


Q. How do I show album art for my songs in Audio Manager?

Q. In the Photos tab, photos can't be seen in full screen and Slideshow doesn't work.

A. Click on the "Album" soft key on the lower left, then select a folder and set it as your Favourite. Now when you go back to Manila you will see it working.


Q. The Alarm indicator on the Home tab says it is off even though I set the alarm.

A. If an alarm is coming up within 24 hours then it will show on the Home tab.


Q. During a reboot the, SIM's PIN code prompt closes after a few seconds, and then TouchFLO starts up.

A. This is a known issue with Manila 2D, not the ROM. You can access the PIN code again when you start up the dialer.

Q. How do I increase the ring volume?

A. Go to the registry, and find the following parameter: HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN\EAC_GAIN_EMBEDDED. Change it to a value between 67 (default) and 77 (maximum recommended) and then reboot. Don't go so high that it blows out your speaker!


Q. How do I increase the in-call volume?

A. Go to the registry, and find the following parameter: \HKCU\ ControlPanel\ SoundCategories\ InCall\ AttenuationCategory. Change it to 0 (a value of 2 makes it quieter) and then reboot.


Q. My SMS messages suddenly disappeared after I tried to restore them with PPCPimBackup!

A. Don't restore your SMSes while the Messaging application is open. Ensure it is terminated with the Task Manager.

A. Here's a trick: Go to Settings->Buttons, assign Button 1 to Rotate Screen. So when you open your program from M2D, just hit the button to rotate. When you close the program, the device automatically shifts back to portrait mode as it returns to M2D

I decided to stress little more cause I have faced same bugs as I got in 20721build. I'm also joining forces with c_Shekhar to built a really nice ROM. You can expect something cool coming on...My team of Beta testers are around all together so we'll release upon all tests have been done. Wait patiently cause it's worth!:D
We are already working on it. We'll evaluate if 20721 is better than 20275. Release both or release only the newest.;)

I had a huge crash on my PC and I'm still recovering everything. Fortunately, I have my PockePC stuff in a separate disk!;)

I dont know whether you've been following the 3D driver development thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426314), but the driver is in a "working" state and our testing has shown some significant performance increases.

We would appreciate if you could include these files in a future release to allow for testing as we have seen different performance gains and decreases from our own testing but believe that some of this could be attributable to the files not being cooked into the rom.

I hope you will assist us in our quest to better our devices.

Notes regarding the progress of this project...

Came here to tell you that ROM is still in test. I'm performing several ways to improve performance and use of the 3D drivers as stated before. We've been also playing around with different skins, themes, etc. But focus is performance and stability + all features and functions. That's why it takes time to release.
Now, R2 is on the way in private and what I can say is that everything is working fine except: Allprograms softkey under programs tab (M2D). Sounds a M2D issue. Have to leave this fix for M2D team cause I'm not a programmer. :p

Regarding 3D, I wanna be sure that ROM can take advantage of that. A real one. For now, it's possible to realize improvements specially over some games. It's faster. But need more time to figure out a particular thing is happening.

I also couldn't get Raphael Camera work like the way I wanted. It works but a real cooking skill is being place cause most OEMAPPS comes with many many stuff I don't like it. It means that you have to dig a lot cutting many lines of the RGU file which also means attention. Anything wrong made there, some apps won't work properly. And....this takes time...So, I liked that Camera a lot and wanted to add in this ROM. But I won't spend a lot of time trying....cause I haven't had enough time lately..;)

M-Amine is working on my device...some little problems, the most important is that often, when tapping on screen nothing happened for 2-3 times, then works.
This seems like a too slow hardware reponse, because happened in all applications (contacts, games, and so on)

im currently flashing back to full version from lite to test the Wm5 Storage app out.....

the only issue you posed that I can confirm as a bug is the WM5 Storage app. Everything else works fine.

The Reg tool is still being refined...so, it's mandatory read the thread before use. You can remove it from Remove Programs group normally.:) I have used and worked fine.

As recommended I used the official rom to flash and then am now ready to flash the Lite version...

My raidio after the official ROM shows 1.59.42.15 - I am only getting a single bar on this...

After I flash the Lite - am I to keep this radio or is there a recommended version that I need to flash? I really dont want to do all my settings and then find I have to flash again !

I see it great rom. This is a first coocked rom on my Polaris. (but not first coocked flashing...:)

1. WM5torage: Removable Class - checked ; tried all possibilities of troubleshooting ; but win XP only install the drivers and shows E: not available... I have Sandisk class2 8GB microSD. How can I solve this? (Softic Card Export 3.08 works good...)

2. I yoused build in M2DC. I unchecked only e-mail tab and lacation tab and made a backup from the original theme. After it people tab shows only "Please wait..."

There's a simple way to do this correctly!:p
The followings apps were installed by CAB and are easily removed from Remove Programs group in settings tab:

- Random Access
- LVM Top Bar
- WMRegOptimizer
- File Explore Extension

So, for top bar, just look for LVM and voila!;)

Which radio are you using? If is not 1.59.42.15..It's high recommended you install also! Thats'the most operational one in place.:cool:

According to developer, you only have to run this tool once in a moth. It's enough. I already used on mine and didn't face any issues.

To recover your PIM, use PIMbkp if you have course files saved already. In case not, I need check deeply this particular one. in the meanwhile, try look into the Tool thread for specific issues related. Link in 2nd post.:cool:

Tested this one and no issues when selecting or browsing people tab. I first disable those 2 tabs and made a backup. Then, I apply it and volia. No tabs anymore and all others working fine. :)

I checked it and in the folder of M2DC have all files I think, but when I copy them into the windows directory it shows the files in the rom: realy want to overwrite? Of course, but the files aren't in the windows dir... I use resco explorer (don't hide files...)

Is the only one solution the HR??? :(

Hi, first of let me thank you for cooking such a wonderful ROM. I really like your theme and some progs you included.

After a day of usage, I have found a few bugs, not sure if they are already mentioned.

- The left volume key does not havw the right functionality. Instead of the volume, it brings up the connection icons on the top bar of the home screen. The one with the speaker, BT, battery, etc. I had similar problem with itje's 3.5 ROM. Kind of annoying.

EDIT: After a HR, the above problem is not there anymore except while trying to increase the volume during a call.

- When you launch the internet wigit, it opens with 2 tabs. A few other ROMs had similar issues.

- As you mentioned in your 1st post, the finger scrolling om the emails hangs up the device. I know there is a cab fix for this somewhere.

These are the only issues I have with your ROM. I really like the fact that you have the best skin and especially I liked the incoming call one. udK ROM has the same one.

Please let me know if you have any fix for the above issues.

Regarding volume key, I have seen this beahaviour around sometimes but confess not bother me at all. It does not happen all the time and if you click on volume icon it will bring up the Opal volume as you wish. Most times I wanna use it by sliding right button, it works normally..so...:rolleyes:

Internet tab in Opera, I confirm. It happens on mine too..but hey better than not having access, right?:p No clue confess. I'll look in the newest build.....;)

Same here.

It seems to be a problem of the Manila 2D skin, you implemented. I have used this skin on UDKs Syrius rom and after installing, the alarm wasn´t shown at the today screen.

A solution would be really nice :-)

Need understand better what is going on actually. I tried to reproduce the error on mine device by setting up an alarm and it worked.:confused:
I setup by clicking on the upper left alarm icon (below the digital time) and setup a time to ring than it worked normally. :p

Sorry bro for having heard this thing...no one seems to face this particular issue. I'd suggest you to flash it again. As you already used mine previous one and Amine, you shouldn't have problems with this particular work. So, try flashing again and report results. :rolleyes:
Just be sure you remove SD prior to flash.

I tried reproduce installing Resco package containing 2007 version and Registry itself. It didn't show in programs like you said just after installation ends. But if you go to any other folder like Acessories or ToolBox and return to programs, they are there.:)
So, no need to reset. At least on mine worked that way!;) Why happens like that? No idea. :rolleyes:

Hi Epimazzo,

Since I used your first cooked ROM I like very well the font Calibri. :) I know you have only renamed the original tahoma font to use the calibri.
Then later whenever I'm using another ROMs, after a Hard Reset my first thing was always substitute the original tahoma font to calibri. Your method was really the simplest, I didn't must to modify any registry setting, only renaming a calibri.ttf to tahoma.ttf and overwrite it.
The first manila 2D ROM was Syrius, and I tried to overwriting the Helvetica fonts, what TF2D is using. But I cannot make this change.
Then I tried yet with your ROM, but I cannot too. Why? Is Helvetica a reserved font? Can you help me, how can change this ugly Helvetica font style to any other font?

I done a HR :) but the problem is that the m2dc couldn't restore the original picture files for the manilla... I copied the sink files of other full themes to the \Program Files\M2DC\ActiveTheme directory and after it I restored the original theme. Now works it with people pictures of the other themes.

Where did you sended the original pictures? Could you send it in mail? gortenDOTmail[at]gmailDOTcom

No.. My phone is not docked. But I do not see the WiFi option on Comm Manager at all. I flashed this ROM twice already... and I dont see it.

I was just looking at the screen shot on the first post, I dont see the WiFi on/off option in that as well.

Go to settings\acessories and open ROM settings. :)You can move between all functions enabling or disabling whatever you want.;)

Wifi is not shown by default.

Yep. helvetic is found inside Manilla OEM pack and cooked all together. I didn't try modify for using Calibri but I suppose that you can messy graphics or can't fit well if you do that. That's why fonts are included already. Confess don't know if we can change that...I mean, to force M2D use Calibri instead Helvetic. Try using Calibri.cab (fake one). I'll try over here. Give me some time.;)

Since I used your first cooked ROM I like very well the font Calibri. :) I know you have only renamed the original tahoma font to use the calibri.
Then later whenever I'm using another ROMs, after a Hard Reset my first thing was always substitute the original tahoma font to calibri. Your method was really the simplest, I didn't must to modify any registry setting, only renaming a calibri.ttf to tahoma.ttf and overwrite it.
The first manila 2D ROM was Syrius, and I tried to overwriting the Helvetica fonts, what TF2D is using. But I cannot make this change.
Then I tried yet with your ROM, but I cannot too. Why? Is Helvetica a reserved font? Can you help me, how can change this ugly Helvetica font style to any other font?

I had the same problem. It is because you activated the themes in manilla 2d customizer.
The program couldn't roll back the people tabs pictures... You should copy people tabs pictures from other skin into \Program Files\M2DC\ActiveTheme and it will use that.
I'm waiting for the epimazzos skins files... ;)

i have a small issue and i don't know what's causing it
the phone just keeps mute from time to time
it never happened before (swtos light ROM)
when somebody calls, i can't hear any ringtone
i have tried to launch music player and play any mp3, nothing

when I install PCM keyboard, later in SIPChange cannot activeting it. Exactly I can select it - without any error -, but after the next softreset it will be active (again) the "Keyboard" keyboard style, not the "PCM Keyboard".
I tried installing the SIPChange newly, but it's working already wrong.
Have you got any Idea?

Have you fixed this problem already? I honestly never heard about this particular dictionary. You can try another one and see if it works. :o There's a good one which I used to have installed called SLOVOED DICTIONARY. It's a good one and works fine.

Think I half fixed in upcoming V1.1;)
At least on mine during a call I tested, clicked on Volume Icon in taskbar and then in VC icon again to pop-up Opal VC. Just by sliding wasn't working.:o

I can confirm that too, brings up the status menu.

This is the first time ive tried your ROM, ive tried everyone elses and i must say, so far yours is the fastest, so it looks like this is a keeper.

Also, theres no wifi button in the comm manager...hmm...(just ntoiced the first post, can be added via ROMSettings, thanks)

and obviously, along with every other rom, the Album doesnt work with videos, but thats expected.

yup, that's what had come up to my mind
so i flashed original O2 6.1 ROM incl. radio and than Touch Navia 1.0 and it looks like the problem is gone :)
even the battery drain problem dissapeared

Yeah...this is funny. I just changed VC pack to Opal to fix it during incoming calls and lost its sliding function. :mad: It's a minor issue cause you still can control it by clicking on the VC icon in System Status. So, shortcut was sticked little more:p

I tried it with your rom 1.1, after flashing, so it was clear... But It wont work :(

My problem is that in Slovoed doesn't available hungarian-german dictionary...

A really fast rom. I´m unsing another skin and the german.mui for Manila 2D, Navi software is TomTom 6.

The only issues I have found:

-Active Sync is opening itsself and is permanently running in the background
-Swiping between E-Mails accounts isn´t working for me
-Scrolling in "All Programs", when starting from the programs tab is not working

You may have a look on earlier posts to fix your ActiveSync issue.
Swiping is ok on mine, fixed in V1.1. You mentioned had changed theme...how's that prior the change?
And...scrolling after clicking on Programs TAB is also working. Fixed in V1.1

So, if are using 1.1, you should be ok with these problems, otherwise, suggest you to rollback to the original theme.;)

MAIN Feature:
This ROM can be dumped and recooked. Unlike many of the cooks, no RGU have been deleted. No DSM has been deleted. And most of all, the ROM has not been crippled against dumping by deleting IMGFS signatures. So feel free to dump and modify upto your taste. And share the knowledge with the community. We can improve more by sharing the knowledge than keeping it secret.

This is a problem with all ROMs including M2D and therefore HTC Audio Manager 2.0.
You need HTC Audio Manager 1.2 to be able to use the remote control volume buttons.
However, if you install 1.2 the ID tags and album arts do not get updated within M2D. Controls do work though.

Got the AS problem solved. Rolled back to the original theme, but swiping between E-Mail accounts and scrolling in programs, when starting from the program tab is not working. Will try a hardreset adn maybe a new installation of your rom.

Hi Guys, need some help - sorry in advance for the noob questions. I initially installed the WWE KhanX WM6.1 (Build 20270) which seemed faster but decided to load Navia V1.1 up instead (i didn't know how to revert to the factory rom first). I tried putting the phone in bootmod by holding down camera, power then pressing hard reset, but only displays the tri colours for an instant then boots. But seems to work when i use CustomRUU.exe along with the shipped rom. (I take it you don't need to install Hard-SPL-V2 more than once.

Having these problems:

1. Can't find the program to adjust screen brightness.

2. No sound from the earpiece or on the phone (hard reset fixes it for a while.

3. Upon receiving sms the vibrate is constant and continues to vibrate until i press 'end'

4. Compact qwerty and phone keypad malfunctioning and locked on numbers, not letters.

5. Programs aren't terminated automatically from memory if not in use like with the Professional rom. Active sync is displayed even when i haven't connected to the pc.

5. Also what is the go with the internet pages being so tiny (ie crams a normal size web page to fit on the screen)?

6. Is there a way to get it looking like the standard HTC Home plugin, as ticking HTC home doesn't seem to do anything.

7. Is it possible to get the date in format DD/MM/YY

8. Does Data (HSDPA) terminate automatically similar to wi-fi when not in use. Holding down end locks the device - anyway to get the other menu?

Sorry for all the questions, but wanted to check if others have noticed these things, incase my install didn't work properly. I have a genuine unlocked AUS touch cruise. Not sure which is the best rom for me but prefer a button that goes straight to contacts & inbox instead of displaying the latest mail message etc.

Here, unzip the following and copy this file to your sd card and go into msdc app go to the theme tab then click the add button, browse to where you put the theme file then press ok. Select the theme then hit apply... it will automatically load it and restart TFLO

I'm downloading v1.2 and will try this.
Perhaps i didn't do a hard reset last time, but this time have reloaded RUU_Polaris_DOPODASIA_AUS_1.26.710.1_25.65.30.04_1 .58.21.23_polaris_murata_Ship.exe and also done a hard reset, so hope it works better.

I just can't understand why you have to put the device into bootload when the supplied/generated CustomRUU.exe uses activesync and loads the phone into bootmode automatically.

The main problems abover were adjusting screen brightness (is there an OEM cab file?) and wanting to end programs from memory like the professional version (do i need to specify a smaller threshold?).

ok first off browse to this site and download your version of official ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431738

This will most likely correct most of your issues.

1. the screen brightness is found in Start>Settings>System

2. The No sound issue is most likely a conflict cause by the Radio ROM, flashing to official rom then back to this ROM wil more than likely fix this for you.

3. the date format settings are also in the Start>Settings>System in the Regional settings app.

4. HSDPA is set by default to disconnect if not used for 10 min. You can overide this by going into the BG-Soft Tweak app in the /system tab aswell.

5. If you do not want Opera to default to Full screen display launch Opera and go into its settings for display and untic the "Automatic full screen" option.

This should get you started :D

Having these problems:

1. Can't find the program to adjust screen brightness.

2. No sound from the earpiece or on the phone (hard reset fixes it for a while.

3. Upon receiving sms the vibrate is constant and continues to vibrate until i press 'end'

4. Compact qwerty and phone keypad malfunctioning and locked on numbers, not letters.

5. Programs aren't terminated automatically from memory if not in use like with the Professional rom. Active sync is displayed even when i haven't connected to the pc.

5. Also what is the go with the internet pages being so tiny (ie crams a normal size web page to fit on the screen)?

6. Is there a way to get it looking like the standard HTC Home plugin, as ticking HTC home doesn't seem to do anything.

7. Is it possible to get the date in format DD/MM/YY

8. Does Data (HSDPA) terminate automatically similar to wi-fi when not in use. Holding down end locks the device - anyway to get the other menu?

Sorry for all the questions, but wanted to check if others have noticed these things, incase my install didn't work properly. I have a genuine unlocked AUS touch cruise. Not sure which is the best rom for me but prefer a button that goes straight to contacts & inbox instead of displaying the latest mail message etc.

Thanks a lot bkeaver am giving it a go (i reinstalled officail rom as per the dopod asia (exact same filename but got it from the beginners thread).

Here, unzip the following and copy this file to your sd card and go into msdc app go to the theme tab then click the add button, browse to where you put the theme file then press ok. Select the theme then hit apply... it will automatically load it and restart TFLO

Sorry i meant the 4-setting brightness toggle like on the Polaris 6.0 ROM.

I found a bug i dno if it was mentioned already. When i am on a call and i try to adjust the volume ( either higher or lower ) i get no meter, but instead i get the same screen i get when i click on my G indicator. With other words, i cant set the volume how much i want to and i can barely hear everyone calling me. Any suggestions ?

btw, Is it necessary to do a hard reset after i load a new rom (ie install WM twice)? I got the same volume problem where after i made the first call the volume doesn't work. Had the same problem today when someone rang and couldn't hear anything.

This Manila 2d is pretty nice but may have to roll back to the standard rom (assume it's ok to leave Hard-SPL on).

I get that too, don't see how you can adjust the volume while in a call. I thought ver 1.2 changed the volume controls to be as they were normally?

As stated in my earlier solution that volume problem you are having is the radio not the rom.. try flashing another radio

I am using radio version 1.59.42.15 - after flashing this radio i no longer had that volume issue. also 1.64.08.21 aso worked fine

Hi,

nice and fast as ever!

But I have a few probs:

-in the camera album in v1.2 pics always shown in portrait mode and I´m not able to rotate them by gesture?
-the fixed swiping between e-mail accounts is not working for me
-the fixed "all programs" scrolling is also not working for me

Here is the exact one I am using... the only other thing i can suggest, besides trying this radio, is download a official 6.1 rom. I believe, without looking back through the posts, that you used a official 6.o rom before. Maybe there is something about it.

I have had the same problem as you in the past and this is what fixed mine. If not I am all out of ideas. sorry...:eek:

All refers here in that post is not basically meant to point a bugs or issues but more to focus your attention for some of the behavior during my short use.
1. Basic performance testing is giving the General idea why this ROM is fast, however some of the graphic test ended with error or stuck the device. I started to see this issue since the 3D driver was included.
2. Internet behavior is strange since it is connect fast, discover a lot of WiFi points but, connecting to youTube or "long" access to the web, cause the connection to be lost. I have tweak all the WiFi setting -no good, also seen this problem in other ROMs
3. Radio - I amazed! my reception signal is 25-30% higher with the same radio as before (1.59.42.23) - How come :-)
4. Unicode support - NON of the other ROMs that is available today is not capable to support complex language - they all stuck at the boot. I don't know what you are doing different - PLEASE don't change it :-)
5. all other issue already mentioned :-)
