ok that storage is insane my friend :). my bandwidth for my internet is all messed up right now though so im not even going to attempt to download it right now. im supposed to get around 4-8mb's and im getting 800kb's rofl. theres a tech comin out tomorrow so hopefully that will be fixed. also figured i'd wait a little bit and see if there are any itty bitty bugs that may get pushed out quickly(like you always do cause your awesome).

I'm having active sync headaches with this one... Windows Mobile Device Center tries to configure the device, then an error box pops up and says that the device was disconnected, please reconnect to continue... riiiight...

I've flashed plenty of roms, heard other people complain of active sync problems - but never had one myself. Frustrating...

You have to place it in the windows directory.

I'm only removing since some people do not want it included.

Plus when removed it free up about 5MB of space.

Worse case, I will call this one the lite version and the one with the weather brn files as the regular final.

I had the same problem with the Active Sync, I decided to reflash and start from scratch and that seemed to fix my problem. Still does not go into landscap but not a big deal. So far everything seems to be in great working order.

If I connect my phone the first time after a Softreset, everything works, but then if I disconnect and try to connect again it doesn't work!

I am running 7.3 STD with phonecanvas. Only problem I have is that my contacts doesn't sync with exchange activesync. Eveything else sync fine. If I sync with pc my contacts, then it syncs.

Thought it might be WM6.1, but my wife has the Diamond, and it syncs fine exchange activesync.

I am trying voip with this firmware but, the volume is incredible low. really hard to hear anything.
But when i switch to phone sound is great. I wonder if this is about firmware or, there is a seperate voice setting for voip dialer??
Or any hacks to boost the volume ?

When I press the button on the earpiece of my bluetooth I use to open Cyberon Voice dialer. Then pronounce the name and dial that number. My guess is that I need to reconfigure the soft key on the right of the wing to open the application. My bluetooth use to work on my previous ROMS

In fact thats the first thing I test before event thinking about uploading it.

I did not include the active sync killer in the lite version.

Try a hard reset first to see it resolves your issues.

Voice command and voice speed dial is not included in versions 7.

You will have to download the required cabs and install them.
Then use /Setting/Personal/Buttons to reset your key mappings accordingly.

the tcpmp and quick menu can be put in the programs folder. the quick menu can be run from there directly and a shotcut can be made for tcpmp.

the htc killer and hiernate cabs are elias made. look him up. they have their uses. if you like them use them.

and yes, i said it. the lites have always been my favorites. and this is the magnum opus. i have yet to encounter any flaws or anything worth mentioning.

i have uploaded the latest google maps as well.

try a ahrd reset and then run autocabs right after. always give me clean installs.

I think I have the solution for the Activ Sync with Vista. I had to end all sync center processes manually and restart computer. Also check that your mobile center is up to date. Everything working great now. If i find anything else I will let you know :) Thanks again.

have you tried deleting the mobile device in activesync and/or reinstalling activesync? after flashing, i would sometimes have problems connecting, but this always did the trick.

I'm using Vista also. I got the active sync to work by doing what was suggested waaay earlier in the thread about deleting the existing sync partnerships and hard resetting the device. It took 3 tries, but it finally took. I was in a semi-panic though because with no PIM Backup built-in to the rom, I wasn't even able to restore my contacts #'s from my backup file. No sync and no way to restore info from a backup... For a sec there I thought I was going to have to restore to OEM. (I was just thinking, now that I have sync working, if I put the PIM Backup .cab onto my memory card I'll never have that panic again)

People who are having the activesync issue: I've been able to solve it by closing wmdc.exe and wmdHost.exe in taskmanager, and then reconnecting my device. I've got Vista Ultimate 64bit.

Edit: Nevermind, it only worked one time. After that, nothing...

Edit2: Okay... what the... Seems to work again after a soft reset.

I was wondering if it was my phone or has outlook not been installed on vs 7.4? I installed the new rom and when I try to sync with Windows Mobile, specifically my contacts, windows mobile says that outlook is not installed. I have re-flashed several times and I know this version does not have office on it but 7.3 did not and it still had outlook e-mail that I was able to sync with.

go into the registry under HKLM>services and delete the enlarge start menu service, go into HKLM>software>htc>enlargemenu change enable to 0

Most likely your application might require NETCF 2.0 instead of 3.5.

Is this an older app?

Some of the older apps will not run when NETCF 3.5 is installed.

I use to provide a version called the micro which did not include NETCF at all and you would install the version you needed.

Here is my find for WMDC:

Tap Start > Settings.
Tap the Settings tab.
Tap the USB to PC icon.
Tap to select Enable advanced network functionality.
Tap OK.

Soft Reset

Repeat the steps above and disable the advanced network functionality.

****DO NOT SOFT RESET****

Open WMDC and connect USB cable.
It will take some time but it will connect and sync.

I need to test to see if this will continue to connect but if others with the same issue can try this and report their findings it would be much appreciated.

ok, well im having problems with the Pictures & Videos app, I cant select a single picture and hit menu as in the menu for the app, it just closes the entire app, but I can select multiple pictures and hit menu, resets dont resolve the problem. Any ideas? Also the Camera Album app no longer lets me select which folder from my SD card, and it did with v.7.3.1

i posted a file/folder (tcpmp81) up in the thread. when you find it put it in the program files folder of your sdcard. open the folder. scroll/go down to, do not click on, Player.exe and create a shortcut. once highlighted with file explorer press and hold, bottom of window. with total commander, once highlighted tap file go to >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (A) and create a shortcut.

Ttran let me thank you for (in my opinion, of course) the smoothest ROM yet. i haven't upgraded to 7.4 yet, as i am still very pleased with OTP_v7.3_STD_TouchFlo_2D_Final_No_VC. on a typical day i have around 24 storage & 21.5 program. thats awesome. i used to be happy with just 19 program. anyway great job, and thanks for the dedication!

I then unchecked the contacts option under exchange, synced, then enabled it again, synced and now it looks like all contacts are there.

I haven't had any problems with Skyfire on this ROM. Don't forget that skyfire is still Beta and most problems that you encounter will be the browsers fault.

I donated for the first time the other day, i have had some financial problems and once i had the extra loot i donated $25 to make up for all the releases i didn't donate! I feel the same as most of the other users! if it wasn't for Cooked ROMs i would of thrown my Wing away last year when i bought it! It will suck when TTran leaves!

As for what Kyphur said, i agree with everything except for the tolerance of the noobs posting in a developers area. Other forums i have been apart of always made it so you can not post in dev areas unless your account was a dev account! I have even seen where they block people below a certain number of posts from posting in those areas. It stops a lot of the fly-by questions. It would be nice if only the beta testers and Chefs could post in those forums, the search feature would be a lot more useful! right now its tough to find anything, and i have been reading these threads for over 2 years. I can just imagine how hard it is for someone days into the forum to find information!

i posted a file/folder (tcpmp81) up in the thread. when you find it put it in the program files folder of your sdcard. open the folder. scroll/go down to, do not click on, Player.exe and create a shortcut. once highlighted with file explorer press and hold, bottom of window. with total commander, once highlighted tap file go to >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (A) and create a shortcut.

Tried 7.4 Lite last night, and had my first activesync issues with vista. With all of the other V7.X roms I have had no issues, but after flashing V7.4 and trying the usual tricks, I could not get it to sync with vista. I did however, get it to sync on my other PC that runs XP with activesync. Also, the top and bottom bars were light blue instead of black. On previous versions of the rom, the bars have been light blue until 2D starts and then they turn black. With 7.4 they never turned black. Is there a seperate app that was used for that or is that part of 2D? Thanks for the input. I went back to 7.3 for the time being as it has worked almost flawless for me and is definitely my favorite rom to date!

I'm not sure what kind of issue that would be considered. Can't you just get a clock skin from the Manila 2D skins thread over in Hacking and Dev (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425974)and put you whatever clock you want onto this ultra lite ROM?

Can someone please assist me with pointing me in the right direction for changing the Call History Icons in OTP 7.4 back to the ones I liked in 7.3? It seems like it'd be such a simple issue, but I've looked all over and cannot find the files.

And I'm also searching for anyone who knows how to get HTC YouTube working on this ROM the way Gullum got it working with his ROM. (maybe it needs to be cooked in, if that's the truth lemme know)

Is it a must to charge the battery to 100% before flashing. Someone says if you flash a rom while battery is not full, after flashing your battery supposes that it is full and your battery do not charge to full.
I flashed before while 15% and after flashing I saw 85 %. I know it is impossible to fill battery up to 85 % in so short time.

The only way to flash the rom without having at least 85 % is to enable bootloader mode.

As for the qustion about the battery changing like that I do not know since I've never seen that issue.

The last rev did have an issue with the battery staying at 100 & full all times and I've inlcuded a fix for that with v7.4.

So place your phone into bootloader mode and flash away at any percent.

I removed two out of the three standard ones, you might have to go in and select it to get it to work.

Finally finished customizing the wing... Considering starting the new job next week and wife always forces me to choose between the phone and the family, today is my last shot to get everything straight when I still can.

First impression of OT7.4 (upgraded from OT7.3 std phonecanvas):

All bugs fixed!!
The beautiful weather background is gone (the grass land portion), I really liked those.
Blue call history icon (which doesn't matter to me)
Google maps gone (need to install myself)
Office suite is gone (normally installed to SD card anyways)
Audio booster is gone (useless anyways, but tf2d still has a softkey points to that on the music widget)

Everything works as advertised! You have just proved yourself to be the best cook for tmobile wing!

One small issue: the audio quality is kinda ugly when I'm listening to music with my bluetooth stereo headset (Phillips VOX340) which I don't know whether it's the rom or the headset. Good thing is I don't use it for music anymore.

Edit: Just tried it again, now the music is crystal clear... Don't know what happened. There are few soft resets between both trials, maybe it has something to do with that. Anyways, no issues now. Perfect rom!

I love the looks of this new rom! i am so happy we are getting away from the diamond style. it was nice for a bit, but black and blue look good together! Anyhow i have notice a huge slow down in the performance in my phone from 7.3.1 to 7.4, anyone else notice this? especially when i get a call or try to close something! seems to that everytime i try to hit the X to close a program it taps something else on the screen...like when i close the phone app it will hit either 9 or 3 most of the time or highlight a number in the history! 7.3 was very fast and i updated because of the low volume issue!

I have installed a few apps to the SDcard, which was google maps(haven't ran it yet), mobile flashlight, tcmp and QMenu (I uninstalled it and removed the large Menu entries in the registry.) almost forgot, i also updated the radio to 03.21.90 then downgraded to 03.18.90.

Also i followed some info on removing camera.exe, commmanager.exe and another exe from the exclusive entry in the registry.

Could any of this cause the slow down? I have done a hard reset...i usually do after flashing. But i am not sure if i did one after that.

Activesync, I'm still trying to include the fix in the rom but have not been successfull yet.

As for the battery drain, I think this is a known issue when using 2D as your today home, which I have no control over.

hey guys, i love the 7.3.1 it works Perfectly for my wing. my battery sucks and was crap before the rom upgrade, and for 12 bucks on ebay ill just buy a backup. my question (to get to the point) is the only Two things that i notice on this rom that are bugging me... (i can live with the double click for things that use to be one click, so no worries there) but.......

what is the fix for the battery status icon in the top right of the screen (they always show full even if my battery is down to 1% (happens all the time) is ita quick cab i can download and run or is it a manual regedit, if so whats the keys and change

also, when replying to a txt then closing the phone, or opening and going to home makes the screen go back to portrait instead of landscape. closing it doesnt change (because its normally like that when closed) and then opening its fine.

both minor glitches, but are there quick fixes besides re-rom'ing it?

Yeh ive noticed the battery drain too, guess we will have to live with that until they revise Manila 2D. Usually I can go about a 36-42 Hours without recharging but with Manila 2D I can only go about 24 hours before recharging. Otherwise a bug free ROM Thx ttran

I don't have this ROM installed but the icons are in the Windows folder & are likely called "clg_in", "clg_miss" & "clg_out". Just drag & drop & they should overwrite. Good luck.

Just to confirm, the when you first flashed the rom did you let it complete the customization process?

I'm not saying that you did not but I have notice that some people did this so when they hard reset their device it will run again.

The customization process is very important folks...

It does as it's name states, if you dont let it complete then you will run into issues.

And also, please do not remove the custom add-ons I've set to install during customization, they are very small but required.

I really like this rom, very fast, and no doubt one of the best roms ever cooked for Wing.

I really like to listen to music, and my Wing is the only device to listen music.

My question is that in 7.3 while i was listening to music if I pressed the power button to turn the screen off to save batter it would have turned of the music aswell. On the other hand, 7.4 does not disturbs the music it just turns of the screen and you can stil listen to music.

I am thinking it might be doing something with devicelock.exe or something which the 7.4 does not include. The reason i am asking for this is because I want to switch back to 7.3 as i really liked it didn't give me a lot of problems.

By problems i mean i can't connect Wifi with 7.4, Windows Mobile Device Center is not connecting. the shortcut button for text msg is not working. Also that some *.exe file is missing or something like that.

So while switching back i want to have the feature of not getting my music cutoff while wanting to turn off the screen only.

My question is that in 7.3 while i was listening to music if I pressed the power button to turn the screen off to save batter it would have turned of the music aswell. On the other hand, 7.4 does not disturbs the music it just turns of the screen and you can stil listen to music.

I am thinking it might be doing something with devicelock.exe or something which the 7.4 does not include. The reason i am asking for this is because I want to switch back to 7.3 as i really liked it didn't give me a lot of problems.

By problems i mean i can't connect Wifi with 7.4, Windows Mobile Device Center is not connecting. the shortcut button for text msg is not working. Also that some *.exe file is missing or something like that.

So while switching back i want to have the feature of not getting my music cutoff while wanting to turn off the screen only.

I was having big bad headache problems with activesync/WMDC and this rom, too. I can't promise this will work for you, but it now does the trick for me every time...:

plug the usb into your device. computer goes 'dingdunk' but no sync... now hit the power button on your device a few times. your computer goes 'dungdink', 'dingdunk', 'dungdink', 'dingdunk' ... first time I did this it was out of frustration and I was pleasantly surprised to see it synced. this goofball method works for me every time I can't sync....

Nevermind. I tried to update the radio today and Vista said it was installing new hardware, yada yada, radio update failed because of bad communication - and now my 'goofball' method isn't working to make a sync anymore... back to standard frustration mode.

oh wow.. so here is what i just did. 1. Uninstalled WMDC restarted pc. 2. Soft reset my phone. 3. Downloaded WMDC from Micros*** and installed it. 4. connected phone. and finally connected. I also found out that if WMDC is connect and if i use my phone it would disconnect the WMDC even if i am just browsing or anything at all. It would just disconnect WMDC connection with my phone.

I installed everything from http://good4every1.blogspot.com/2008/09/samsung-omnia-user-interface-on-your.html which basically gives you omina. I ran it on your 6.5 no TL or SPB version.

Everything seems cool, Contacts move a little slow if you have the first and last names their because they move side to side (using graphic memory i guess) but i just access my contacts fast through the dialer (sending me to iContacts). But thats about my only complaint, moves very fast good for texting because the SMS window pops up like a normal non-windows mobile phone would.

a few threads i found mentioned not power cycling the phone (as opposed to a soft rerset) after entering connection settings(proxys and what have you). they said doing the pwer cycle helps by putting the settings in rom(or something). others mentioned the problem was on windows mobile. anyway... i just want to find the solution.

i am still using the 7.3.1 rom and it runs amazing, but i flashed 7.4 on my wife's phone and the "phone" features run terrible on it.... everything on the rom is perfect except there is huge amounts of lag when trying to answer a phone call.... exactly like the stock rom. did you change anything with the dialer between 7.3.1 and 7.4 ttran?

Yeah, it still seems to be a bit laggy, and that's even overclocking too. I've noticed the same with creating texts takes forever, and general functions seem to be slower than the older versions of Open Touch. I love the overall "feel" of it though.

I'm using the standard ring tone, and I don't feel any laggy. Of course it's slower compared to other OT versions but from OT 7.31 std phone canvas to OT 7.4 there isn't an appreciable difference.

Yeah i would say the same as the OEM, maybe a bit more. Its mostly when you go to hit the X it will grey out for a few seconds before it actually closes. Also when the phone rings it will say unknown caller then the caller ID comes up, but when you go to hit answer it won't slide but it will answer the call. I flashed to 7.3 because of the problem but if you want i can try flashing back to 7.4. I notice there was a memory leak to. Everytime i ran oxios it would release over a meg in memory. Even if i didn't do anything on the phone.

I am running OTP 7.3 biggy with PhoneCanvas and Office - this ROM is near perfect for me. I was able to fix the battery status indicator by replacing the current one with new one - discussed on this link below....There are 4 cab files (see link) and the only one I used / tested is greenbatteryfix3.cab (extracted from the corresponding zip file).....did not install any other file that were included in the zip file....

My favorite so far has been v7.3.1

Everything worked on it, and I didn't have any problems when installing iContact. With v7.4, the "messages" button on the side of the phone (not the GUI, but physically on the phone itself; the button) does not work properly. iContact lags a bit with v7.4, especially when it needs to populate a lot of contacts. I'm not sure what causes that, but it hasn't happened in a while. It mainly happened when I first installed the program, and it occurred after the first two or three reboots. It hasnt happened for a couple days now.

v7.3.1 had everything working, but I didn't like the vTap thing and wanted Office instead, which is why I upgraded to the newest one.


Just to make something, clear, though: THESE ARE ALL AWESOME. I'm not trying to complain. You just seemed like you wanted some feedback, so I wanted to voice my opinion. I totally dig this entire series. It's honestly the best thing to happen to my phone since I bought it. I like it more than anything I've done with my girlfriend's Tilt as well. Your whole Open Touch 7 series is just plain awesome.

agreed. but there are also some apps that have been a real pain to get working via .cab install (ie. HTC YouTube) so I'm looking forward to seeing that cooked into this final release.

as much as I like PhoneCanvas I'd also have to agree with previous post that it does not work well if you like to install S2U2.

I finally got active sync to work again and immediately flashed back to 7.3 STD (the one without phonecanvas or 2d VC) and I have to say that everything is working great for me now - thanks!!

I have to emphasize also that Windows Mobile Device Center makes a sync perfectly now. Every time. Nothing even close to the frustrations I was having trying to sync with 7.4 installed. As a matter of fact, I haven't had 1 single missed sync yet. And I've connected at least 20 times - because I'm goofy like that.

so far im gonna stick with 7.3.1 as well. everything runs lightning quick (even without overclocking) and the batterymonitor bug does not bother me - i just replace it with the clock(i like to always be able to see my time in the menu bar over any program anyway) and run arielbattery monitor... i really like how it shows your actual battery percentage on the menu bar (thanks again for the heads up albert!) - i cant wait to see what your working on next ttran.... but i would suggest building off the base rom in 7.3.1 instead of the stock tmobile rom - it just seems more responsive and personally there are no applications i run that do not work on it.

Ok.. I loaded 7.4 and no problems with the dialer (using PD dialer), activesync or any cabs. I used vjbrisk to make IE the default browser on the large globe and changed the custom browser underneath to Skyfire. Had to do a little home xml editing for the title centering and added the skyfire icon. Everything good so far but I really wanted to create a solid Bond theme for the phone. Ive changed the splashes to bond bmps, installed s2u2 and added bond bmps to that along with movie sounds. For my notifications I used text to speech british voices and added bond theme music for effect. Now here is where I'm stuck and need help folks.. can anyone tell me how I can change the following:

Change the startup sound to use the custom bond wav I have. I've already edited the registry to point to it and enabled the startup sound but I get nothing when I reboot the phone.

Also, how can I substitute the hardware buttons sounds to a custom wav? I want to use a silencer and shell hitting ground wav I created so that when I hit a button or type on the keyboard it activates that sound.

Lastly, is there a way to set up the alarm to play an mp3 or point to a wav in storage?

Any help will be appreciated and ttran.. I didn't forget you.. will be doing some chucky cheese funding for you soon. Sales have been down at work but come hell or highwater... although I think we're already there.. I will manage something very soon!

if people would just realize that office can be added by the user instead of the cook via a cab file, and it has been posted before in this thread, and dozens of times in this forum. The reason why is because you can install it to the storage card and it still works flawless, but it saves you almost 6-8 mb of storage space on the device.
people also have to keep in mind that there are some apps that you may want to install later that have to be saved to the device ( ex. voice command, ms live, flash support ). its not that difficult to just install a cab file after flashing.

still using the OT 7.3.1, havent sat down in front of the pc to do the upgrade to 7.4.. but since theres issues with the lag while answering a call, I will wait for ttran to make another update or wait for my G1 to come in the mail.. Then i can flash my wing as much as i want cause it wont be my primary phone.

back to the rom question. this rom is great, no major issues, everythings been real minor ( battery indicator - fixed by installing wm6 battery cab, but it does disappear every now and then so I end up having to reinstall and then soft reseting. But I think i just need to use schaps advanced config to fix that. )

Not really because these questions are based on the otp 7.4 rom which ttran has made mods to the touchflo to. But I understand you're concern and appreciate your help.

Did you try the startup volume registry value?

Went to hklm\software\htc\startupanimation and added value 1 to "enabled" file, 127 value to "volume" file and location of wav to "wavfile". The only thing I can think of that may be the culprit is the "default" file which has no string value. Other than that.. I dk y its not working.

I don't know if you can point a registry value to a new wav, I can't find the registry for it. I will continue to look though.

I have tested 7.3.1 w/office and phonecanvas for the last week + now and have had no issues whatsoever ...

I changed the battery status and added all of the programs that I usually add on my device - ms live, yanceyware, a few games (soduku, pocket uno, and s-tris) total commander, vpinit, screencapture ++

Changed the skin on the dialer

Added a few cities to the weather area and updated the manila2d.exe

So far I have had nothing but success. No issues with sync to Vista, battery lasts 36+ hours with a fair amount of phone usage as well as my few games. No lag on answering calls and I am using .mp3 ringtones stored in my sd card.

Free Storage = 23.93
Free Program = 25.53

I have to say it is a solid ROM and can't wait to see what you will have for your biggy ROM this week.

i was so impressed by the mod that i had to donate, not alot but just enough to show tran that he is indeed needed in this fourm. I myself was part of a hacking crew for the dreamcast and ps2 and understand how it can sometimes feel that you may not be appricated. so far im gonna stick with 7.3.1 as well. everything runs lightning quick (even without overclocking) and the batterymonitor bug does not bother me - i just replace it with the clock(i like to always be able to see my time in the menu bar over any program anyway) and run arielbattery monitor... i really like how it shows your actual battery percentage on the menu bar (thanks again for the heads up albert!) - i cant wait to see what your working on next ttran.... but i would suggest building off the base rom in 7.3.1 instead of the stock tmobile rom - it just seems more responsive and personally there are no applications i run that do not work on it.

v7.5 is not compress so there so not be the lagging issue.

The main reason I'm updating it is to include YouTube since a lot of people are having issues getting it to work.

I want my users to be happy with my roms not have head aches trying to get add-ons to work.

If your happy with your current rev then don't worry about this one.

If you want YouTube and new included fixes, then go for the new version.

Also, I like the way you asked the question about the love part... All my roms include that if not I would not be providing updates....

It might just be me but this afternoon I flashed to 7.5 Biggy (before you posted Media) and I have a pretty good lag. I've tried restarting and it still has a noticeable lag. I also can't get the weather to update for my city along with Opera Mobile saying it can't connect to any address and then it goes to the Today screen and gives me Touch here to launch TouchFlo going immediately into Launching TouchFlo. It's a great ROM and a nice change. I've been looking for something new for awhile but just didn't find anything I liked. Thanks for cooking a great ROM.

honestly i think we should just scrap the 2d vc altogether - sure its pretty but it seems like a pain in the ass to get working.... plus you could save a tiny bit of space and the standard vc has the same functionality.... just my two cents =)

If you don't want phonecanvas, please download another dialer and install over it.

Most of the files will over write so you will not loose that much space.

No it does not need the full opera to work. The media version does not have the full version of opera and youtube still works.

I just had to find the correct oem packages to get it to work on the herald plus a new build.

wonder if this is a first bug or if i missed something in the past 225 pages. but when i click on the people tab and choose all people, i get a "The file iContact cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted cert, or one of its componets cannot be found....blah blah! you know the one. I thought being hardSPL'd stopped this issue?

BTW i installed - OTP v7.3 STD TouchFlo 2D Final No VC.nbh
