View Full Version : Please dump SPL
jockyw2001
30th August 2008, 06:29 AM
Is there interest to run cooked roms on this phone?
If there is, I can develop a USPL.
I need the original SPL first. Please can someone dump it using the attached SPL backup kit. Connect your phone and make sure activesync is ready syncing (green). Then run the file monet-backup.bat. It will attempt to application unlock your phone. Ignore the prompt to restart your phone, just click it away. It will create a subdirectory "4" in which you find a few dumped files. Please zip it and attach here. Thanks!

Thanks for posting your dumps guys. Unfortunately the dumps do not include the full SPL. An intermediate step must be carried out to find the proper address. Please run the attached batch file "memorymap.bat" it generates a memory map. Post the file "memmap-lobster.txt" here. Note: you must have a activesync connection via usb cable before running memorymap.bat.

Okay, thank you all for the dumps. All SPL dumps are the same version (SPL 1.05.00). I will now start preparing a USPL for you guys. With the USPL you can then flash cooked ROMs. Since the original RUU isn't available, it is important to reconstruct the original rom. To do that you must run the attached "monet-backup.bat". This will backup all rom parts except for the OS which we will back up separately in a next step. I will support you doing that, but the next steps: setting up a rom kitchen and cooking a rom is something you will need to do. Of course I can give some support, but as I don't own a Monet this will not have a high priority on my todo list :)
I've got a little present for wtusvi who posted the dump "3_yswuhan.zip" . The simunlockcode for that phone is 72566103

You mean you could flash the splash succesfully?
I need more confirmations from others.
He flashed the splash, and I mean your SSPL really works.

As you mentioned, we are using RUU from Shadow since we got no original RUU for Monet, so is that possible to use Shadow ROM Kitchen to cook a ROM for Monet? Or maybe we got to do some homework on the Shadow ROM Kitchen first? Your support will be great appreciated. Thanks

That was a stupid move. Can you still enter bootloader mode (tricolor)?
To all others: don't start flashing anything other than a splash with the SSPL.
First I need to release a USPL (or maybe HardSPL) version!!

Yes, the examples I have in mind are the Rom Kitchens of Shadow and Vox, but I'm still looking for an even closer match.
The first challenge will be to dump the existing OS and reconstruct it to a flashable rom (e.g. OS.nbh).

Probably you flashed the Qtek SPL :(
To unbrick all original Monet rom components (spl, radio and OS) must be flashed.

Did you only flash the OS part? If yes, it should be possible to unbrick it.
Ok, your security level is still cleared.
It is time for somebody to dump the OS. There are various instructions in XDA. I will look for a description and post the link.

A how to dump your OS description you find here (for Vox S710):

And here you find a description how to cook a ROM (also for Vox S710):
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=vox_cooking
I'm not very experienced with Rom cooking so I can't really help you with that (besides I don't own a Lobster ...).
The first thing to solve is to reconstruct the original Lobster WM5 OS from the dump !!!

Before reading in Qtek 8500 ROM uses the pdocread backup.
the order is:
pdocread 0 0x2600000 os.nb
jockyw2001
23rd September 2008, 01:38 PM
You can convert the os.nb to os.nbh with attached Darksimpson rom utility and then flash it.
Start the tool, enter ROM builder, choose device "Monet", in OS choose your file os.nb and click the build rom button and as output filename choose os.nbh
You can flash the rom by starting the phone in bootloader mode and then flash with the RUU utility. Make sure that os.nbh is the only .nbh file in the RUU directory.

Well then I am out of options to unbrick your Monet.
You have been too early with flashing that Qtek OS.
To everyone: before flashing another OS make sure that you have installed the USPL first !!!
The right sequence is:
1. run SSPL
2. now flash uspl-1.05.nbh with the RUU
3. check if the uspl is installed by entering bootloader. The display should say: "1.05.USPL"
4. now you can flash a cooked OS

找张 SD 卡,先格式化,注意选择 FAT 32 文件系统,将生成的 os.nbh 复制到 SD 卡上并重命名为 MONEIMG.nbh,然后插卡开机进三色屏,看是否能卡刷。
