Instructions:
0. make a SuperCID (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=292068)! Required!
1. make an application unlock (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373229) (REQUIRED if flashing from official roms only!)
2. run RUU_STAR100_WM61STD_V7b.exe on your PC
3. follow the instructions
4. wait until flash process will be completed
You can flash it over ANY (Qtek, Dopod, HTC or Cingular) rom!

I haven't did an All_packages_to_one, so feel free disassemble it, and make your own versions of my ROM. Enjoy!

ANyway, the conncetion option in setting have duplicated option, beam and comm manager ... And if not mistaken there shud be a SMS option to set the message center but in the v7a doesn't have ... You can edit CHome_240x320.cpr in the windows directory, and change the font to something else.

I installed the rom. I have used it for 2 days.

But now, it has been frozen on 3. screen (which beach landscape) when I powered on. I tried to pwoer off and on again a few time but results are same.

I can not do any think. I can not re-install rom. because of PC can not connect to phone via USB.

Are there any way to stand up my phone or it dead?

I think, I lost my phone.:-(

I tried it one more time. I am using Cingular 3125 and the rom version is 4.1.502.5. Any other suggestions? Maybe I am missing something? Should I remove SIM card and/or SD card?

yes, you can extract setup file with WinRAR (right click on it, and select "Extract files..."), and you get a folder with the same name, then just launch ROMUpdateUtility.exe

i have a Cingular 3125, it has 128MB ROM memory, instead of Qtek 8500 (64MB)

Yes, but that will be difficult for you i think.
You need to edit a CHome_320x240.cpr file in Windows, and change Aksent font to Segoe Condensed.

By the way, i had added a simple manual for those people who had a problem with Connection Error or something during flash process:

i thought i'm very clever and copied the CHome_240x320 from your previouse rom to the windows directory of the v7 rom. the result: the font of the clock is correct but i can not open the settings anymore, i get an error:

The control panel document xyuBaMAMepuKocbIMbIyMHee.cpl.doc cannot be loded. Verify control panel again.

can you send me the original CHome_240x320 or do I have to reinstall everything?

afterwards I will make the changes to the font manually, can you give me some advice what I have to change?

Hi Erofich, this is an excellent ROM, nice and stable, the only issue I seem to be having thou, is there is a performance decrease over v6e. Just wondering if you have any idea to what I might do. I have installed the identical programs on both but v7b the performance is slower.

Alternative method to backup your contacts is to use PIMBackup (google for it)

Unfortunately hardreset didn't help; I am still getting same error messages.

After file uploads to around 4%, and I am getting error message in Update Utility screen:

Wow... this new ROM is fantastic!!! Two quick issues, though...

1. The standard windows mobile 6 ringtone appears to be missing... you know, the normal "ring ring ring" tone ;-)

2. MMS appears to be broken for AT&T... was the network wizzard supposed to set this up automatically?

My photos are exactly in the directory \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures and no one of this photos are displayed on the home screen. Only the photos of the Qtek-Space.

the photo's must be stored in Storage Card\Pictures skip the 'my documents' folder and leave the 'my' from pictures out.
It works, but it is not efficient, cuz as far as i know pictures you take have the standard path for storage (\my documents\ etc.....) so you have to copy/paste them yourself tot the right folder.

Thanks got it sorted. Just a quick note to Erofich, I noticed while changing the settings that "Beam" and "Comm Manager" each appear twice in the Settings menu. It's a minor cosmetic thing, but thought I'd mention it in case there was a bug causing it.

I love this ROM. It's GREAT! It just my Jawbone headset sometimes behaives funny when I receive a call. It rings in headset and when press headset to pickup the call, it seems like it switches to headset, however the phone continues ringing and call eventually goes to voice mail. If I pickup a call from the phone, everything is fine. I never had this problem with WM 5. It's an intermittent problem and insn't happened every time. Any ideas?

Great work, I updated perfectly with windows vista my Qtek 8500 with your STD_V7b of WM6.1 standard!
But now I have three questions :

1. :( MMS : I updated from WM5 because I didn't received MMS. Now I'm receiving notify of MMS, but in today panel
I see "No new EMail" (EMails no MMS?) but above all when I try to download, MMS client answers :
Max.Received Size limit overflow, but MMS is only 8K, and when I force download, it start with GPRS icon enabled on radio, but do nothing

2. :confused: Can I reorder today subpanels (missed calls, sms, mms, ... profiles, ring tone, ...) ?

3. :p In future release can you update SQL Server Compact to 3.5 SP1 ?

I was able to flash my phone (via SD card) fine. I am having a problem though, anytime I try to type something, say "very" when I try to do the V I have to press 8 three times, when when I do that, it just puts in 3 T's.

Does anyone know whats going on with that? Any help would be appreciated.

thats an easy task, browse the "Windows" folder and check the images, cook your own images and replace the existing using resco explorer,,, restart and congratulations,,,,

the installation routine works very well - also fine the included unlock.
program listing seems pretty fast to me.

i will test bluetooth function and how stable some non-included programs run a bit later today.

so far till now no errors or problems occured.
but one thing is a bit annoying: the choice of boot- and 2nd display pictures are not so good. but thats a matter of taste ;) would be fine if somebody could write down here all the folder and filenames where which picture can be found so people can easy replace them.
(hint the little htc logo animation from the clean wm6.1 homecooked rom was nice i had)
may be it would be more neutral to use standard wm6/htc colors themes and such (also the font for home screen clock is not so nice)

in the next days i will upload the new diamond like htc theme. i remember i had such somewhere on my HD ;) (if somebody is interested)

ok guys - here the htc home plugin.

copy "Gregory HTCHome.cab" to your phone/storage card then execute it. it wll install all what u need inclusive the weather program.
the options for the weather program can be find under start->Weather.
under Start->Settings->Home Screen u can choose the THC theme

additional i add a common plain theme "black scheme.Scheme.xml" (may be u want to change the basic markup and bordercolor of your phone - no matter if u use HTC theme or not)

the file "HHCv10Final.CAB" is a customizer for these THC screens - just copy to phone/storage/card and execute for installing. it seems it can do a lot - havent tested it till now (may be u guys give a feedback here).
additional it seems u can change the icons of the thc theme with that tool - for that u have to use "HHC-Appearances-20080309-10FINAL.zip" http://www.pocketemu.com/request17.html unzip it and copy the choosen style/files to to correct folders (i think so it will work - just google for HTC home customizer and read about it)

<sigh> Having done a ton of ROM updates to my various phones over the years, I have always prided myself on getting through after reading all of the supporting material and then getting the update loaded. Alas, with this ROM, I can't seem to make it happen. I have a 3125 that I have Erofich's 6.1 Pro on board now. Everytime I run through the process, I get to the tricolor screen and then the ROM update utility simply times out. That is, it never gets above 0% then I get an error on the PC and I have to reboot the phone. I figured it might have something to do with the ROM so I followed the instructions to edit the registry manually, which seems to work fine.

But that did not work. SO I downloaded the officel 3125 ROM from HTC hoping that would solve the problem...same issue.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hadn't thought of this but at one point after adding Pro V2, I did try to sync with a Viswta machine...like others, it would hang and I would have to reboot. Do you think it might be related? I am thinking of wiping the device with Clear Storage and starting again from there...

you should flash an official wm5 ROM before, and then a WM6.1 via SoftSPL

try re-installing your rom, occasionally I will run it issues similar to yours and a re-install usually fixes them.

Yes that's what I did, but aside from OEM, SYS, and ROM, there is also a 'Missing' Folder created... the folder has several files in it and I don't know what to do with it... I tried to BuildDSM it, as well as putting a .dsm file with uuid but to no avail... Sorry to be bugging you about this...

I translated the page, but the registration link didn't work afterwards. I tried clicking the link to the registration page then putting that url into google and was told that it was virus behaviour (preventing auto registration scripts).

After opening my browser, I opened google translate in one tab, then opened 4pda registration in another tab without translating it(so yah, it's still in Russian), I copied the word or phrase and pasted it to the google translate tab. Even in the fields that needed to be filled up, that's what I did. Yep, you have to switch from the two tabs from time to time. It's a bit time consuming but well worth it...

I have a Cingular 3125, and after flashing to this ROM, the data connection is greyed out in the comm manager. I have run the HTC network configuration wizard, and selected "US / AT&T" but this did not fix the problem.

Try reflashing a factory rom from SD card, that might bring it back to life.

Check your back cover first and make sure the small switch on the right side is working.

If the phone will not power on at all, try this

remove the battery, leave out for at least 5 minutes, plug in the power, put in the battery, replace the back cover.

Sometimes this will work. No guarantees.

The Aksent font is used for Opera Mini, which is difficult to read. It is fine for clock, but not Opera Mini! Has anyone found way to keep Aksent on clock but use Tahoma for Opera?

I have never in my life felt like I needed to pay someone for 'ahem' free software / shareware off the web before, but I sent you a little cash (it's all real money to me right now) for replying to me and all the others so promptly. The work was beautiful, and the instructions pretty darn good if even I could follow them.

I fought with this forever, because of my earlier post about Opera Mini. Look at the attached images -- It's horrible in Aksent font, Tahoma is a must!

I tried overwriting Aksent.ttf with Tahoma using Resco Explorer, that's one way. But then the clock is smaller and uses Tahoma :) I wanted Tahoma in Opera Mini but keep Aksent on Clock. Putting Tahoma in \Windows as ahoma.ttf doesn't work for some reason -- I think because when the fonts are enumerated the ROM-burnt ones come up first no matter the file naming! This solution worked best:

1. Copy 3 fonts already in \Windows to \Windows\Fonts
2. Copy from your PC \Windows\Fonts\Tahoma.ttf to \Windows\Fonts as ahoma.ttf
3. Change Font directory with RegEdit

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\FontPath]
FontPath="\Windows\Fonts"

You can use "\Storage Card\Fonts" as well.

Et voila!

Option 2 if you don't want to edit registry. (not tested)

first ein tried the 6.1 professional-version on my qtek 8500.. it works fine but i missed the button for "ok"... then i try to instal the 6.1 standard... hang up at 36 % ... restart in bootloader... try again... hang up... reboot and now it freezes... i can only see the bridge with the skyline of a city and the htc logo... nothing happens... battery out, in, start... the same.. only the bridge with the skyline... and it won´t connect to the pc...

I suspect this may not have anything to do with the software, you may experience the loose battery cover switch problem, search the forum and you'll see

To fix the reboot problem just stick a thick piece of foam on the cover where it touch the tiny switch

I think your problem may be down to the fact that Erofich has left out the .NET Compact Framework (CF 3.5) to save extra space. The idea being that you install it separately onto your SD card. Visit this thread on MoDaco for the required downloads:

The article says to install to internal storage but it seems to work from memory card.

I've been very pleased with this new install but I have ran into a problem. Every time I've tried to get online with the phone I am getting a error message that says the remote party has ended this connection. I ran the network wizard to make sure it was configured properly. I tried the suggestion dated from 10-16 about the blackjack (which just says to use regular WAP instead of secure WAP). I've checked the GPRS settings to make sure they are set to cingular. So far, nothing seems to be working. Anybody have any suggestions??

Great work, I updated perfectly with windows vista my Qtek 8500 with your STD_V7b of WM6.1 standard!
But now I have three questions :

1. :( MMS : I updated from WM5 because I didn't received MMS. Now I'm receiving notify of MMS, but in today panel
I see "No new EMail" (EMails no MMS?) but above all when I try to download, MMS client answers :
Max.Received Size limit overflow, but MMS is only 8K, and when I force download, it start with GPRS icon enabled on radio, but do nothing

2. :confused: Can I reorder today subpanels (missed calls, sms, mms, ... profiles, ring tone, ...) ?

3. :p In future release can you update SQL Server Compact to 3.5 SP1 ?

There are just few problems with ringtones, I have found duplicates of sound files in windows folder and in My Documents folder, the path is set to the My Documents folder but there are not all sounds and there are sounds which are not playable on WM too.

In case you are going to release next version, tide up the sound files please, I know the sound files aren't that big, but on the Qtek 8500 devices isn't that much free memory ;)

PS: does anybody have the WM5 ringtones? The big problem afte move to this ROM is the ringtone my wife was used to :( I think the sound was called bumblebee, but I am not sure.

Here's where I went...

Att.com - go to "help & support" on the far right, bottom - choose wireless support. Make sure it shows the 3125 as the phone you are using. choose phone/device tips-"how to use my phone/device"

After checking the MMS Settings... I went to Media net - accessing browser settings. This shows the proper settings for both the GPRS & the Proxy.

Don't forget...After you make all of your changes, you have to power off your phone & then power on again. I didn't do that at first and was "spinning my wheels". Something about "rebooting" making the changes take affect.

Please note: at this time I am working with tech support because there is a network wide problem receiving "other carriers" mms files. This should not affect mms files within AT&T. At least it didn't for me.

Really this is an exellent work! I'm not an smartphone user, I prefferr pocket pc instead, but make a try with an imate smartflip and upgrade with all wour ROMs. Have to say WM6.1 PRO is the best but many software seems to not work propertly or is very difficult to use it even with the cursor... I'm not a pro, just an user, but have a question: Could be possible to make a version capable to use aplications intended for both OS, Standard and PRO? In my opinion this could solve many problems. For example; I use iSilo a lot, and with 6.1 PRO you can only use it with the cursor, and it too slow that make me preffer the standars version of iSilo on my StrTrk, but can't install it on 6.1PRO version. Same happens in both directions with different software... So if you have an idea, or think you can make a ROM capable of take the best of both worlds (standard & PRO), i'll be pleased to hear about it.

Only one problem, sync'ing with two machines. Apparently this is fixed in AKU1.2, but that hasn't made it into these ROMs yet. Is this something that's coming along soon, or can you give any suggestions as to how I could cook my own with this included.

Yes there is, just use "file explorer" and open your windows folder. You'll find the clock on top link in there, just select it and choose yes, that would hide it. Select it again to re-enable it. In my case, I just made a link of it to my start menu, that way, I could toggle it on or off easily... Hope this helps...:)

Thank you - I've realised I was being a prize plum!

For anyone else who gets stuck on this (and is as stupid as me) there are files called _Short_POC.lnk under Windows and others that are part of the ROM. The initial flash then copies these files back into Windows as Short_POC.lnk without the inital underscore. It's these second files that control how the button presses are handled.

I've just renamed my replacement link from _Short_POC.lnk to Short_POC.lnk, copied that into Windows and it's working perfectly. Like I said, I was being a plum as I saw the underscored links and thought those were the ones everyone was referring to, not thinking to look further down the alphabetical list for non-underscored ones.

Believe it. The phone doesn't have the hardware to support microSDHC, you will never get a microSDHC card to work correctly. There are some regular microSD 4gb cards supposedly.

You cannot delete files in the ROM when they're on the phone (some programs will let you "overwrite" them, but they don't actually delete the original just places your new one over the top of it).

Your only options are to dump the ROM, remove the files/settings you don't want and then re-cook the ROM, or flash the clean ROM and then install the bits you're missing. I went for the second option and installed Office on SD card, etc. Which are the useful applications you mention - I've probably found cab versions of most in the last couple of days if you want them?

I have no problem for the display ... Perhaps you try to remove the country code of your phone number in your phone book ? It seems windows mobile treat full number with country code and local number as different number ...

I was hesitating whether to post this question because so many posts deal with T9 issues but I don't think I can find the answer.

1. Installed this ROM, it worked beautifully as directed. (had to do manual CID with Perl though..)

2. It came with T9 English/Russian.

3. I wanted to add T9 German so downloaded that CAB linked in the first post.

4. Now English is gone. How do I choose between T9 languages? What am I missing?

5. Bonus question: no more MSN messenger? [edit; found it. *feelsdumb*]

Thanks for the rom! Installed and is working great on my Cingular 3125. I have a couple of questions and a tip for at&t users.

1. I installed the rom with no problems yet I did not perform steps 1 & 2 (make a SuperCID and make an application unlock). Is there any risk with skipping those steps? WM6.1 seems to be working great for me.

2. A couple of posters praised the standard version but said that they preferred the pro version. Can someone make a quick rundown of the differences? speed? features? memory and storage use?

---regarding the media net and mms settings for at&t. I've read several questions from users who were having trouble connecting.---
You'll need to manually enter the settings as the standard rom does not have the at&t settings built in. Here's the steps:
1. go to settings>connections>gprs. create new. name it Media Net. Connects to: The Internet. Access Point: wap.cingular. User Name: leave blank. Password: leave blank. Authentication Type: None. Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0. Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0. IP Address: leave blank
2. go to settings>connections>proxy. create new. name it Cingular WAP. Connects from: The Internet. Connects to: WAP Network. Proxy (name:port): wireless.cingular.com:80. Type: HTTP. User Name: leave blank. Password: leave blank.
3. THIS is the step that many are forgetting. go to settings>connections. Soft Key: Menu. Select Advanced. set the following: Inernet Connection: Media Net. Work connection: automatic. WAP connection: Media Net. Secure WAP connection: Automatic.

That is how I set it up and I am connecting to media net and receiving mms messages.

I found the DLL in OEMDrivers folder, added the lines to the RGU but it still cannot connect via activesync. When I attempt to connect it, the device displays a page that asks me to type my Name and Password, as well as domain...

And another thing, if it is not too much to ask, I can't seem to make the HTC Sliding Panel work. I got it from the package folder of the dumped HTC Rose ROM.

If asyncmac.dll is exists, then i dont know how to solve your problem

You need a BootLauncher from htc s740 rom too

Been using your ROM off and on for a while and have only one nagging issue - the calendar doesn't have all the options for recurring appointments. For example it doesn't have a 4th Tuesday of the month so if I try to create (or edit) a recurring appointment that is on the 4th Tuesday (such as today) it converts it to the date (such as every 24th of the month). Is that MS or a reghack??

Otherwise it's been flawless for me and allows me to beta software on my wizard without much downtime!
