i want to install Windows Mobile 6.1 on my phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399300
post #6

i am new to all this flashing and everything... so i have a lot of questions
1. what is the best os to work with my HTC WING? vista, xp, or leopard?
2. what is the best software to backup my sms messages?(free recommended)
3. i tried using the program included, the RUU.exe, but it mostly returns either error 202, or 260.. i read how to fix them, i tried many times, made sure my phone was connected to the computer, restarted my phone, restarted my computer, but every time, my phone goes to a certain screen where it displays a red, green, blue and white box in that order. on it it says "IPL 4.10.002" and "SPL 4.10.0000".. im guessing this is bootloader mode? and the other screen is a blank white screen.

i tried the following methods

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanForBeginners

they all seemed to fail for some reason, or they didnt apply to what i was doing..
4. is there any easier way to install wm6.1 and all those addons?
5. do i have to install a hardspl? can you tell me which is the best to use since im a newb at this?

I'm gonna sound rude here, but I have to second you on this :D!

Poster, I forget your name, but, judging by your lack of knowledge, you have some research you need to do on YOUR own time. We are not a free technical support team that will spend the time teaching you:

What a ROM is.
What the Radio is.
How to unlock your phone.
How to enter bootloader.
Define a .nbh file.
Explain flashing.
Explain the RUU.
All steps necessary to flash.
What not to do.
How to fix it, if you do something wrong.
What you can do wrong.
What you need to do.
Define "flash".
Define "bricked".

You need to read up, and I mean READ. Before you attempt doing this, you should be able to think of yourself as an "expert" of some sort.

This can damage your phone, will void your warranty, and from looking at your post, you will probably brick your phone.

"Genius" or not, some prefer not to be held responsible for your mistakes.
