Hi out there, as my Software called LocO is from now on also available in English i am proud to present it to you:

With LocO you can fire up your phone's integrated/external GPS receiver and submit your position to http://loco.4ppc.de . Everyone knowing your Nickname can view your uploaded Position at the site. Completely free and completely anonymous as no data except for position, time and userid are beeing transfered.

Usage is pretty easy:

Visit http://loco.4ppc.de, download PPC Software via Link.
Leave the Box on the site empty -> new UserID will be generated (no further registration necessary !)
Start program on PPC -> Settings -> Enter UserID and chose a Nickname -> Button "Bind Nickname to UseriD"
Start GPS -> As soon as you got a fix -> Button "Send position" (below GPS Start)
Distribute your nick -> Enter Nick on Website and view location.

Yes, but Wireless LAN can also be used, depends on what's available. This is handled by WM. If you are logged into a WLAN network this is preferred, else the program wil establish a GPRS/EDGE/UMTS connection.
