View Full Version : [CUST] [20080914]Celogeek Icon Reorganizer and Customizer for all rom, all language
geistteufel
8th September 2008, 12:19 PM
Hi, all,
I have made a tool working (in theory) for all diamond rom, all language.
For French guy, look at there : http://celogeek.free.fr/2008/09/celogeek-icones-reorganiseur/
They is a full and clean explanation totally in french, with screenshot ...
Under the pack they is my icon set. You can use easyly set any icon you want, any name for directory and link, and reorganize automatically all tools as you want after or during any rom installation.
So, you probably just have to set the ini file one time, they will work forever between any rom.
You can now, always keep your icon organisation under Programs between rom.
If you install new software, just add it to the ini file where you want to move it, re-run Celogeek Icon Reorganizer, and that's it !
Ok I join this file, with English directory version (can change it easyly),
I have add lot's of link, in french and english, so they can directly work nice if you have this kind of ROM language. For over, you have to add your link under.
Just run it first, look in Programs (with StartUp > Programs), any link that is not move in directory you like will appear here. Add it to the ini file at the right place, and re-run cir. That's it !
Here explanation of ini file :
-- CUT OF INI --
[dirs]
app=Application?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-1
conn=Connections?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-2
game=Games?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-3
gps=GPS?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-4
multi=Multimedia?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-5
office=Office Mobile?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-6
system=System Tools?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-7
internet=Internet?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-8
[internet]
app1=Messenger?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-103
app2=Opera Browser?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-101
app3=RSS Hub?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-102
app4=Windows Live?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-103
--END OF CUT --
First : [dirs] section
in this section, you create any key you want
ex:
app=Application
internet=Internet?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-8
They will create directory name "Application", the "app" is use below as an alias for application
They will create "Internet" directory and set icon for this directory to "celogeek_icons_set.dll,-8"
after you can create [internet] section, with all application need to be move in it. You can't have twice same application in more than one directory.
Ex:
[internet]
app1=Messenger
app2=Opera Browser?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-101
they will move Messenger link under Internet directory. Key is not important, but need to be unique per section
they will move Opera to Internet directory and set a custom icon to "celogeek_icons_set.dll,-101"
So my init file contain lot's of link I have add from "TOR french" ROM and "Dutty 1.9" link, I have add iGO8 icon and TomTom icon too a personal tools for me (same for spb soft).
If link doesn't exist, it will be ignore.
So here the installation process :
Unpack cir.zip under your internal storage.
Go under it,
move to themes directory, install theme you want (it's a cab that contain celogeek_icon_set.dll), for the moment they is one COOL theme named MAC.
After that, move back to cir directory
Run cir.exe
Just wait, a message will appear when job finished.
Look in Programs the result after that.
Any link that isn't present in INI file will stay in Programs directory. All this link will automatically be added to INI file under section [unknown] with their custom icon, if found in lnk file.
So after you just have to move it to the place you want. Don't forget to set a key value to a unique one in section you move. ex: app1=test, move it to Internet, change app1 to appX (X is last number found +1).
Ex:
before:
---
[internet]
app1=abcde
---
[unknown]
app1=Test
after:
---
[internet]
app1=abcde
app2=Test
---
Copie to you pc the ini file and change it as you want, and push it back to the cir directory after.
A cir link with my icon (a nice girl in purple), will be add automatically in Programs link, just click on it after any change of ini file.
Hope you will like it !
Any question or ask for icons set are welcome and will be done with pleasure by me !
So, just ask
Good customization guy !
See celogeek_icons_set_XXX.jpg for ressource number

It will install my new sets of icons

don't forget to push right think on [icons] dirs, send me your ini files just to see if I can see something wrong.

In fact I want something easy to change. You use celogeek_icons_set.dll, and just change the theme as the one you want but keep same icons meaning number
-1 = application
-2 = ...
After we can move from one to other without need of changing reg.ini
I will make a theme with that theme
If you see somethink funny and better, no prob, I can do it :)

I have corrected some of the icon in my ini file
So, get my ini, and try with that
By the way, I have create an unknown section, that fetch automatically link and icon not in ini and stay to be placed in your phone.
Some of system icon have custom icon, so if you miss to push it under the ini file, my tools will remove it from the link.
I have correct my ini file and push all of system icon, replace some other.
Try it with that, and tell me what icon missing now ?

Please supply previous version so I can see if it will fix the problem
In fact, the tools will auto custom every icons of application.
If you set an icon in ini file, it put it under the link, elsewhere they just remove the custom link (for exemple you put Opera custom link, and want to get back original icon, just remove ?... in ini file)
Did you get my ini file ? still missing icon ?
If yes, give me a picture a missing one, I will try to send you the defaut system to push under the ini file.
My lastest version auto create unknow section will default icon for all link that is unknown under the ini.
So if you want a full control, you can remove all section (except dir), and run it on a fresh install (sorry icon custom by system is loose if you remove it from the ini file)
After you will get all link and custom icon under the ini
You can just move it to the section you want. All custom will be under the ini unknown section.
By the way, I think copie Programs for backuping all original link could be great before any customization. You can revert it easyly in case of somethink wrong, correct your ini, and try again.
You see the process ...
Hope it can help you, sorry for small inconvenient, I will try to find for you custom part for certain link.
Just about icon under link :
Often a link is just a shortcut to an application, this application have only one icon, so that it.
But sometime link is a system link, not directory point to an application, and have already a custom part "?dll_resource,-number" ... So my tools can fetch it if the link isn't already under the ini file.

Ok, perhaps they is a big difference between our rom, and your rom have mistake to customize thing
Here a process :
- Hard Reset your phone (save thinks before)
- After that, copy the Programs directory (Windows/Start Menu/Programs) somewhere to have a backup in case
- Remove from the ini file all section except [dirs].
- Install my theme.
- Run my CIR.
All icones will be down to Programs directory.
- Recreate section with icon fetch in [unknown] section. All system icon will stay properly in that section.
- After that, sent me back screenshot and your ini file, I will look at the problem to improbe my tools.

sorry for delay (weekend)
so yes, you can do it,
By default I reorg my icons in programs directory, with the ini file I push in my zip.
So, if you want to change the organisation of some tools, to create your own directory, with your own icon, or with your own title, has you want, just change the ini file and run CIR again.
You can change after a full reorg, and re-run CIR, they will reorganize all icon by looking in the ini file the organisation you want.
if you add tools or change tools from dir to another, just run it again.
For tools CIR don't know (don't appear in ini file), they create a section call "unknown" and push full line of your new stuff their, you can just move it to another place in ini file, and run CIR again to apply !
Good customization

ok, I think all this explain is in the main stream but just for resume :
when you run CIR, they use the ini file to place properly any link with their custom icon, in directory that is declare for.
So if you what to change a location, just move the line with :
appXXX=Appli?CustomIcon
To another directory place (directory is set by section [dir1])
change the XXX in order to make the left part unique in the section.
after you can run it again.
Any new application appear in [unknow] section, you can just move it to a known section and run cir again
Have fun !

Yes, of cours,
In fact, your can have something like this :
[dirs]
app=Application?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-1
conn=Connections?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-2
game=Jeux?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-3
gps=GPS?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-4

office=Office Mobile?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-6
system=Outils Système?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-7
internet=Internet?celogeek_icons_set.dll,-8
[app]
[conn]
[game]
[gps]
[multi]
[office]
[system]
[internet]
=> You can of course add / remove or change title of categorie, so do what you want
in dirs when you have
mykey=mytitle
you need to create a
[mykey]
with link you want in it
all link that cir don't know will be push under Programs directory,
just change the ini and do it again, that will be place where you want

Ah no luck guy, my tools only work with maximum 1 sub level
I haven't program the recursive move mode, I have made 1 sub level support (directory under another), but you have 2 level here ...
so just in this case, move it, sorry
if it appear too often, I could plan to solve it by a real recursive move to root directory.

This wound be good if that is possible, i have about 6-7 installable items that create 2-3 sublevels, why a software designer would make it such a pain to navigate to the program shortcut!!
Maybe a workaround could be done? i was thinking if it possible for it to scan programs for *.lnk files, move them all to "programs" then perform the sort.
this may take slightly linger because of the search, but do you think it is viable?

I'm already do something like that, but in fact, they is no "find" function in MortScript. So I search lnk of any directory in program, if I find a directory I do it again.
I have to create a function to do that, with a recursive call system.
I will try to do that, just wait a few,

Hi,
i was wondering how the multi level search was going on? just i am running into problems now.
when i run cir i have configured the ini to create multi level menus, for eg:
programs\system\tools
programs\system\config
programs\system\explore
and when i run cir the first time everything is perfect, all shortcuts are placed where they are supposed to be, but if i attempt to run cir again, nothing happens to the shortcuts in this type of multi level menu.
everytim i want to run cir i have to manually cut and paste all of the shortcuts back into the windows\start menu\programs folder then run cir.

so it should work, did you have the last version ?

Hi,
It was nothing to do with that, i managed to fix it. I figured that it was crashing out because the directory before "config" didnt exist because im guessing that your script worked in ascending alphabetical/numerical order so i added a number system to the directories to ensure that each directore was created in the correct order and the issue went away.
See my new Dir list:

Your welcome !
I have seen that new Manilla version (3 and more) set Start button to there program tools (shortcut, not movable, limited ...)
so my tools lost his interest cause we cannot access to old program directory ...
Thanks god they is a patch to restaure good old feature :)
until this program don't work better that old program directory with good tools to organize it, I will prefer keeping that :)

I have a question about the icons, currently they are called from "celogeek_icons_set.dll" and then the "-1" defines the icon within the dll.
but i was wondering if i could use something like:
app=Application?windows\application_folder.png
would this be possible? if it is it would be much easier to assign icons to the shortcuts!!
Thanks in advance
