I like these skin so much. But when I updated to version 1.5, I meet some problems in <today> screen. Those problems were:
1. There were not three led light on the top of screen, but they appeared over on <heart> icon
2. There was not <phone> icon on the top of screen

Enter into the Spb Mobile Shell "Advanced" options as you want add a new program item and check the Spb Menu tree. You should see EXACTLY these 11 items, all checked:
0 [x] Organizer
1 [x] Internet
2 [x] Multimedia
3 [x] Tools
4 [x] Programs
5 Settings
6 [x] Messages
7 [x] Games
8 [x] Navigation
9 [x] Wireless
10 [x] My Menu
(The folder names should be translated to your language)

If you miss one of them you have to add it manually to the registry key:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Menu\Root
(the numbers on the left are the Index values to set )

Hello,

I'm having the Dutch version of SPB and I'm using the Kyro HTC skin (on my Kaiser)
Last version (1.5) is installed.

Few "things" I found were:
1. ......."Your new status icons work like a charm. But they are a little bit mispositioned. The ones on the now screen should be about 5 pixels more on the left to match the position on the launcher screen".......
2. the weather-tab containing the blackstorm images.......the descriptions are in Italian now
3. the gaming-icon in the programs tab is called "Wild" > please change this for the Dutch language to "Games" / the navigation-icon can be called "Navigatie" in stead of "Navigation"
4. Maybe add the status (switch on/off) of the data-connection (GPRS...)

And I agree with:
X the calendar on the now screen is definately missing
X "why dont you add the status (wifi/phone/BT) icon on top of all screen"

As you see these are all minor thing compared to the great functionality/use of your program!!!

update looks nice... only thing that doesn´t work for me now is the "my menu" item on the now page..... the button is still there... but no image any more.... as i click on it it opens as usual^^

Backhrounds and Tab icons are included in the same .dat file so, it's not possible to mix different styles without generate a big number of .dat files.

A couple of things:

For those who are having trouble using the SKINs connection manager (which by the way rocks), you need to edit the script files located in \Scripts\Switcher. On the BT-On and BT-Off scripts on line 30 is a SendCR (send carriage return). Delete this line and replace the file on your mobile. It will work now.

Also, Is it possible to have the weather tab display the current weather on the today screen with script editting, or is it built into one of the .dat files?

I must be missing something (or NOT missing something!), since I have what I think is the calendar both on the Now screen and the Calendar screen. What else should be there?

EDIT. Never mind. I figured out what you are all missing. It's not something I miss. I never use the calendar to access future dates; have Pocket Breeze on my Today screen. In fact, if I could I would eliminate the calendar from the Calendar screen completely and add more calendar events. Just my opinion. ;)

Hi MikiBest,

ive been playing around with mobile shell and your skins the last days. Because of the unflexibility of Mobile Shell we cant use our own calendars, call logs, sms chat programs cause the buttons on the now screen directly link to the windows mobile programs.
But maybe, with your help, we could find a way to compensate this odd behaviour. Do you think it would be possible to add another line of program icons on the today screen, below the standard ones for mail, sms and calls? Something like the icons on the programs launcher tab above the big icons.

So if theres a new call, sms or whatever we could start our favorite programs right away from the now screen with the buttons we have set there. I think theres enough space above and below the clock to move everything a bit upwards to get the room we would need for those new icons. Your favorites menu on the now screen is a nice idea, but its one click more to do to start my favorite app for sms, phonebook and so on...so thats why im suggesting this.

So what dou you (all) think?

mikibest, you are right, the SendCR is required, however, the SendDownon line 30 is not. for the Sprint Touch.

On my Sprint Touch, The program you call, wrlsmgr.exe, automatically selects the bluetooth option, so no SendDown is required. As soon as I open the program all I need to do is SendCR. My bad, I was looking at my changed script, not the one you created.

OK, just in case anyone else did not get what miki said.

Here is the temporary fix for the missing appointments on the Now page for v1.5.

1. Go to Program==>Settings==>Spb Moible Shell (click)
2. Change layout to classic
3. Also enter the configure menu (below) and tick Show current and upcoming app...
4. (you might also want to change the clock to digital here).

5. Thats it :)

If you use spb phone suite with this skin , you need smaller icons but the marks (Automatic by example) remains outside your screen.

I modified the profile_marks.dat to avoid that .

Unzip the file and copy over your spb_phone_suite directory.

about the phone/BT/WiFi switching.... the scripts work but there is a catch (makes it much less usefull ..hope you can fix) , when i click on any of them nothing happens...so i click on the back arrow then swipe my finger from top to bottom to close the spb shell...once the shell is closed the MS wireless manager screen show up & then the the command is done (whatever I clicked for example turning BT on will be on) then the MS wireless manager screen closes by it self & i feel a brief vibration.... That means the sript is working ...of course i have to start shell again manually by clicking [Now]


it seems that the script get "paused" or held till the spb shell is closed ..which really defeats the purose of having phone/BT/WiFi working within shell while its loaded so you never go back to today screen or the start menu

can you please look at the switcher scripts again & see if that can be fixed????

I looked in xml files but can't find where is the problem... :(
Titles work on all "main pages" but no in sub-pages do u have a fix for that ?

Maybe you don't have the WiFi on your device, so you can see only Bluetooth and Phone on the Wireless Manager window. If it's true, you have to remove the SendDown into the Bluetooth scripts and one of the 2 SendDown on the Phone scripts.

Is not possible, wirelss manager hasn't a command line behaviour and it's necessary to put it over the other windows to send commands to the WM window.

Interestingly, if I set the Calendar to 'None' and have more than 5 appointments in the next 7 days, MS grinds to a halt. Buttons don't function properly, changing from Home to Calendar to Programs, etc, no longer works right. If I reset the the Calendar view to any of the other settings (1 Week, Auto,etc.) everything works fine. I suspect MS has an issue, not your app.

the scripts do not work unless i close spb shell then the MS wireless manager screen show up after that & the script starts to continue its steps after that

so its not working as supposed (no touching & all from within shell) ... i have to close shell ... but when i said working OK i meant that they find the proper function & excute it .... they still have a problem that they freeze untill shell is closed

I have a problem tough. I removed every thing, SPB M S and the Folder also. Re installed every thing from the begining, just to be sure.

All works fine (using any skin) only there is an ugly red star (I think the navigation icon, Omnia skin), where the status icon should be (upper left) and the status icon is down at the buttom right (in the programs tab, in the others you cant see it at all).

I think its just some mix up in one of the scripts, plz let me know what to modify.

So I guessed the wireless was the empty one (which by the way i couldnt rename, so its still blank in the spb menu).
All i did to fix the issue was move the navigation up once, to become number 8. and the blank nuber 9.

Verison 2 - I am being punished, you added my long requested 9 x contacts page and I was so happy then as the script for the 9x contacts executed it crashed my Touch, after a reboot the contacts icon does not show the contacts page. So I wanted 9 and now have none :mad::mad::mad::mad: Tried a few more times and it still locks up and needs a reboot - its as soon as i select the 9x contacts, script executes then jams.

UPDATE - all the contact scripts lock up my Touch not just the 9x, it gets to about 95% saying adding then locks up. Is it something to do with old verisons, to uninstall i just remove lot from memeory card or is there another method i need to do?

I have also lost the icon for my menu / favs on the main clock page.

I must have bad luck as it was so near to being perfect - back to v1.4 for now
unless you can give me any answers.

Still this thread is now taking off with loads of people joining in so you must be very busy.

The wireless text must be empty otherwise you see that text under the connection leds. Navigation must have the index 8 and the empty one (wireless) the index 9.

The version 2.0 can be unstable if the rar.exe program can't complete the zip file qa_layouts.dat.
When you click OK on the first question ("Cutomize layout") the script starts to add some common .xml files to the qa_layouts.dat; after each choice other xml files are added to the zip according to your selection. The last selection (contact page style) completes the zip file and allow to move it to the Spb folder. If the rar can't add the xml file for the contact pages, when the Spb MS run again you don't have these pages. The problem should be the speed of your device, maybe adding some sleep(xxx) to the script solve the problem. Or maybe the rar.exe version (Pocket RAR 3.6) is not fully compatible.... you can try the newer 3.7 or 3.8. What is the message you receive from RAR when it fails? I'd like to help you to solve this problem; please send me all the informations you can extract.

1. The drop down phone menu still shows it has turned my phone on but no signal is recieved, to turn on phone i have to use original comm manager. Bt and WifI work fine. I can live with this issue as it may be specific to HTC Touch but it would be nice if it worked.

2. The my menu/favs icon on main now screen is missing - i just have the 3 usual icons and nothing in the fourth plalce but if i press where the icon should be the menu comes up?

And you are going hate me but I now think 12x contacts is the optimum amount so any chance on v2.1 to have options of 9,12 and 16.

Overall its fantastic work and hopefully you can help me with my missing icon.

Here the rar 3.8 , extract and replace the rar.exe in the scripts folders .
Maybe is better than version 3.6.

Usually people can't see the fav icon if had installed an older SPb MS version. You should get the 2.1.2 (it doesn't require a new license)

With this new version is not a problem to add new layers and the 12c x page should be created in the new release.

I switch back to "Original," then try to delete the files, I am not allowed to delete Mortscript (or copy/replace it, for that matter,) due to "file sharing error.":confused::confused::confused:

NEVER MIND, I'm a dumbass. I forgot to kill Mortscript in the Task Manager! (And the startup menu; thanks dealwagon, I forgot to say that) Deleted old files, soft reset, installed new ones. Works like a charm!! I didn't do dealwagon's steps 4-6, but am pondering number 7...

I originally asked this.. So, here is all I did..

1. Go to windows/startup
2. delete spbskins or whatever its called (to keep it from launching on boot)
3. reboot
4. delete the spbskins folder
5. go into spb mobile shell setup (control panel thingy) and disable the menus that skins created.
6. Go to \windows\settings (I think) or programs\settings and remove the spb skins link there.
7. Hope there is no more trash littering my phone that I have not removed.


Not that this is a bad program, but lately it seems that lots of GREAT STUFF comes out (this included) but the uninstall is an afterthought and I have to hard reset a LOT if I dont like something.

I hope a later version thinks about this.

thanks cirrus for the nice words about iPhone 2 ... i posted that skin earlier
& thanks MikiBest for including it in your package as well as my posted spb phone suite small icons... but can you make the iphone 2 list icon different from the first iphone one you did?

i also see that you included my dark calender for bright Luna pages but i think the file i uploaded was from my FULL screen themes so it is little off in landscape (see how the box over current day is off in pic below)

so i am fixing it & will be uploading the correct file from a bright but regular (not full screen) to have things fit better for your theme
this needs to be placed in the following folder (to replace the existing one):

\SpbMobileShellSkins\QVGA\Backgrounds\White

also i am still waiting for an answer about the phone/BT/WiFi switcher that pauses untill spb shell is closed then completes it work?


lastly, can you please give credit when adding my theme modifications or fixs in your history page?

ted working on the dark & light calenders but found out that there is more to it than just the calender files...its little mess now

it seems that all the theme scripts are missing 1 line that copies the proper calender files...so i am in the process of fixing all the scripts to copy them & adding the correct calender files that have proper position of the square around the current day

well... i finished it quick so instead of waiting till tomorrow i just uploaded now

this file contains the fixed scripts & calendar files and some additional scripts for the spb phone suite
just copy these files to the same folders in your SpbMobileShellSkins folder...allow to replace existing similar files

now the Bright Luna theme scripts will automatically copy the dark calender
& the Dark Kyro theme scripts will automatically copy the transparant calendar

also the square around current day fits right & correctly now

I also included the files for SMALL spb phone suite icons to fit this application
& I included the original ones also if you decide to go back & use the big ones with other themes

& thanks MikiBest for including it in your package as well as my posted spb phone suite small icons... but can you make the iphone 2 list icon different from the first iphone one you did?

i also see that you included my dark calender for bright Luna pages but i think the file i uploaded was from my FULL screen themes so it is little off in landscape (see how the box over current day is off in pic below)

so i am fixing it & will be uploading the correct file from a bright but regular (not full screen) to have things fit better for your theme
this needs to be placed in the following folder (to replace the existing one):

\SpbMobileShellSkins\QVGA\Backgrounds\White

also i am still waiting for an answer about the phone/BT/WiFi switcher that pauses untill spb shell is closed then completes it work?

lastly, can you please give credit when adding my theme modifications or fixs in your history page?

I keep on gettig there is no application associated with scanstatus in the 2.0 build. Also, each time that I clicked a script after mortscript, it asked me which program I wanted to open the install qvga script. Previously, when I double clicked on it, it would automatically run. I'll keep trying...

I moved the folder into my documents on the storage card. I figured i was doing something different this time. This time with 2.0, I started with the skins in the storage card/cabs folder/spb ms folder. For some reason, having the skins folder in the same folder as the SPB MS folder was messing something up. All I know is it's working now. Thanks!

and on my omnia the icons on the now screen (telefon, sms, mail,my menu) are not exactly centerd. I think they schoul all move a littel bit to the left and the my menu a bit to the right.

The gestures on the today screen dont function right because the contacts shortcut is replaced with the weather shortcut. Is there a way to get the gesture(start finger from start and move finger down either left, middle, or right for phone contacts) to pull up the quick dial? I wouldn't mind moving the quick dial next to the programs on the now screen, I just want the gesture to pull up the contacts. Thanks!

Some people make comments about completely uninstalling, other updating, some having contacts problems, icons problems, etc. As a developer myself, I understand that when things are getting pushed forward as much as this GREAT (!!!!) app/add-on is, things can't be 100% tested in every conceivable combination.

Go right ahead, v2.0 is great. I only had problem with icon place ment, but configuring the spb setting file fixed it. Perfect now.

i noticed that on time page, that the date is not in the proper position

also when you use a "Luna" bright skin, that the clock stays white & not easy to read

so...i fixed both issues:
now the date is centered in landscape too & matchs the protrait fit
& i made black clock digits for the bright luna skins for better visibility / contrast

i also extracted the backgrounds from all the bright skins while i was working on those files ...and placed them in the relevant P & L folders... you can use S2V software to assign them as S2U2 backgrounds or use in today themes too

i did not extract the backgrounds from the dark "Kyro" skins yet

i modified my previously posted ...

these scripts work like the ones before : change the size of spb phone suite icons (large to small to fit MikiBest theme) & another to change to original size back

the difference is that these new ones posted here also add a registry tewak to add a link under tools---> spb skins
this makes it easier to locate them for people who change the icon sizes alot between MikiBest theme & other themes

if you dont change that much, you can just use my older ones & locate them with file explorer when needed

Usually people can't see the fav icon if had installed an older SPb MS version. You should get the 2.1.2 (it doesn't require a new license)

With this new version is not a problem to add new layers and the 12c x page should be created in the new release.

Dont have any way to do a screenshot (its the stadard HTC Enhanced version) but let me try to explain again in simple terms:-

If I use your drop down menu to turn on phone I get no signal
If i go to original HTC com manager it shows phone has been turned on but to get a signal I have to turn it off then on again.
BT and WIFI both work fine just the phone not working

but i will explain more


when you click the top part on the 3 led colored tag, another screen open with 6 lines (BT on/off, phone on/off, wifi on/off)

if you click any of them (eg. BT on) then my understanding is that the phone vibrate then BT should go on without any more clicks....
in my case, when i click it...i feel the vibration...then nothing happens (script pauses / freezes) ..the BT will not turn on & i stay on that same 6 icon screen

what i do after that, is that i click "back" to get out of the 6 icon screen...so now i am in the main home screen...then i swipe my finger from top to bottom so the spb shell get minimized & i see my today screen briefly

immidiatly after that, the MS wireless manager screen pops up & the i see the wait cursor for a second then the BT turns on by it self (script continues to work now) then MS wireless closes

to go back to spb shell i click "Now" which i assigned to my right softkey...& the 3 led colors on top now show that BT is on

in other words:
it seems that the script steps are "good" but the MS wireless manager runs in the background behins spb shell...and the script orders do not get done...unless spb shell is minimized then it continues....

that is not really useful, as you have to go in & out of spb shell

if somehow the MS wireless manager can be activated to run in the front not the background & not wait for sph shell minimziation then all should be great

i hope i made it more clear now???? hopefully we can get a fix soon

one last note:
i checked & my MS wireless manager has all 3 functions (BT, wifi, phone) and in the proper order for the script (to fit the "stepdown" order for the needed function)

Ok I can now report following on V2 after much testing......

1. To get fav icon on main screen working / showing you do need mobile shell version 2.12, it does not show up in older versions like 2.1.

2. To remove wronlgy placed icons you need to go into customise menu and move it around to following order:-
Organizer
Internet
Multimedia
Tools
Programs
Settings
Messaging
Games
Navigation or Active tasks (mine is active tasks)
Wireless - link is blank not named
My Menu

3. If you have rar problems when scripts run then an upgrade to rar 3.8 seems to solve it as suggested by MikiBest - posted below just drop in your scripts folder.

4. On my HTC Touch the drop down phone menu seems to work but the phone reports no service - MikiBest is looking into this but as no one else seems to have the issue it might just be on the HTC Touch only

5. If you have used older versions the scripts need to be run again for each skin as they are blanked out in the SPB Skins menu.

6. Uninstall - I have removed and reinstalled it lots of times and for me all I have to do is delete the folder from my micro sd card and drop in the new version. If you cant delete the scripts file as its running kill it in task manager. No reboot seems to be needed

SCORPION, what do you mean by the "drop down phone menu"? My wireless manager that appears when I click/press on the carrier icon at the top does not do what it is supposed to.

If I select BT ON or BT OFF, the phone vibrates like it's running something, but nothing happens. I even give it a few seconds to complete whatever it's doing, but it never seems to. I then have to go back into the COMM MANAGER and either start or stop my bluetooth.

In my WM6 emulator the fav icon works with the 2.1.2 but not with the 2.1.1/2.1.0 .... The icons are not the same: in the 1.4 release you have a gray heart, while they are coloured in the 2.0. Installing the 2.1.2 is very simple and not require to purchase again the license. After installed, you have to run again the Install_QVGA script.

I've prepared the 12 contact page for the next upgrade.

Does the HTC use a proprietary command manager or the standard WM6?
If you execute the program \Windows\wrlsmgr.exe to turn on the phone do you get the signal?

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Menu\Root\Settings\2\cplmain_26

Check if the String value for "Text" has the same value of the wrlsmgr.exe window name; modify it if necessary.
If you can't find the "cplmain_26" key, add it manually copying one of the others.

Wow man that would be awesome. I dont really know if this is only a request of me because no one here replied to my question yet^^...

Any hint on how i could get this done would be really really helpful. Is there enough space on the now screen for those icons? If you have to remove anything, the calendar would be my choice, cause theres a fully functional dedicated calendar tab in your skins.
I dont really know how the now screen is constructed and how the availaible space is managed, that would be your part ;) .

hello all

i got few messages commenting on my tweaks for the iPhone 2 theme

so i decided to work on adding 2 more themes to this nice package
I released these 2 theme lately & lot of people like them

- Pitch Black GSmart
& - Brite White GSmart

i really use them most of the time ...the white one works great for the sunny days in outdoors

Now having them fit in this package allows customization with other buttons, clocks, BGs ...etc

just unzip that attached file...then copy the files to their relative position inside SpbMobileShellSkins folder .. if you see a new folder in my zip, just copy the whole folder
last step,,,go to scripts folder & click on Kyro Pitch Black or Luna Brite White script file to get the related skin...these will load the theme & will also creat a link in tools--->spb skins for fast switching like other skins

MikiBest...please feel free to include in your next release (with proper cridet plz)

Drop Down menu - at top of the screen in the middle it says "flight mode" press here and a menu drops down giving options to turn on and off BT / WiFi and Phone. If you dont get this menu then go to the settings / customize menu and check its ticked -its the one with no name.

another easier way

go to spb settings ---> customize menu---> tools--->spb skins ----> scroll down to the skin you do not want....then long press & choose "remove"

Thanks for the info I have now made my skins menu a bit more streamlined.
I dont really understand the workings but I guess only 1 skin is ever installed at a time so even if you run all the scripts it should not take up any more memory other than the reg settings for the icons in the spb scripts folder? :D

Thanks for improving the connection (BT/Wifi) with no confirmation dialogue screens. They worked 100%. Thanks also for incorporating the LEDs on the top bar, something similar which I have suggested earlier on. :)

I noticed the Digital Clock on the Now page and also the Top Bar shows the time in 12 hour format but did not show AM or PM. Can you add a AM or PM or A or P next to the clocks? The Analogue clocks have them.

Again, thanks for the great work and do keep it up.

I noticed that if I keep the Layouts to the minimal (1 Digital clock page, 1 program page w/o MRU, 1 Contact page), the memory (RAM) usage is less. I checked the memory utilization for MobilShell.exe runs around 4.8MB, compared to the Original Themes at 1.6MB. Is there a way to reduce the memory footprint on these wonderful themes? (I use MemMaid to check the memory usage by services, daemons and processes).

when you choose a "luna" bright skin after you have been using a dark on, do NOT skip or cancel the options..
you have to go through the options/customization ...even if you choose the same clocks & icons again...to get the text in black & can see it againest the light background

the reason is that options will use win rar to combine the xml files for you & it will use the xml files that call the black text ... if you skip you do not use rar & will retain the old files with white text

I didn't have the cplmain_26, so I made it and copied the strings from cplmain_23. Changed the text of Bluetooth to Comm Manager, which is what comes up when you run wrlsmgr.exe .

Now, when I click the carrier at top, the drop down shows me the Bluetooth On, Off, Wifi, etc... screen. However, when I tap BT On, it turns off the phone. (it vibrates, opens Comm Manager, and turns off phone). Phone ON turns both phone and BT on, while Phone OFF turns off both. (On my Comm Manager, there are 3 options---top bar is a button that powers both on/off, next is Bluetooth, and then phone---see screen shot).

Its not a huge deal, but I bet I'm not the only one who has this. I'd just like to be able to toggle off/on BT with this if I could.

Thanks for improving the connection (BT/Wifi) with no confirmation dialogue screens. They worked 100%. Thanks also for incorporating the LEDs on the top bar, something similar which I have suggested earlier on. :)

I noticed the Digital Clock on the Now page and also the Top Bar shows the time in 12 hour format but did not show AM or PM. Can you add a AM or PM or A or P next to the clocks? The Analogue clocks have them.

Again, thanks for the great work and do keep it up.

I noticed that if I keep the Layouts to the minimal (1 Digital clock page, 1 program page w/o MRU, 1 Contact page), the memory (RAM) usage is less. I checked the memory utilization for MobilShell.exe runs around 4.8MB, compared to the Original Themes at 1.6MB. Is there a way to reduce the memory footprint on these wonderful themes? (I use MemMaid to check the memory usage by services, daemons and processes).

I'll add the AM/PM information.
The amount of memory is due to the background and weather icons images.
Is not possible to reduce it. Sorry

However, the lighter skins text is white, and this makes it nearly impossible to read. Can the lighter skins have black text please? Or I am doing something wrong?

When you change the skin from a dark skin to a light or the contrary, you should change the layout also if I select the same options, because the text color is included into the xml layout files.

Just installed 2.0 and it is great. Just a couple of things

-On my Tilt when I slide the keyboard and go to contacts, the contacts are in a different order than when keyboard is not open. Top row of contacts are not there.
-When contact are selected from main page, then select a specific contact it gives you options to call and send SMS. It would be nice if send email could be incorporated into that screen if possible.
-On the calendar screen if it could be an option to display tasks instead of appointments or in addition to appointments.

Ah the long awaited 12 x contacts at last!

I cant wait to try out v2.5 and am installing it now.

I must confess that I tried out the Manilla2d /M2d but it was way to slow on my Touch and just did no look as good as your program and it took ages to install.
Lasted about 3 hours then I went back to v2.0 of this. The only thing I liked was the lower buttons that allowed for more of them as they scroll left and right.

Maybe its someting SPB can code into the next version of MS or is it posible in this version?

Still me thinks this is still the best shell by far.

This happens when you update by deleting the old folder and adding the new versions folder. There are 2 cures:-

1. Go into the customize menu screen / tools / spb skins and untick or delete them.

2. Run the scripts again for each of the skins by gonig inot the install folder / scripts and clicking on them

Yes I wanted to suggest this too, the last time i tried, but gave up, cause i wasnt sure of the language and didn't want to risk pressing the wrong things.

An advice: set up an English version too (for the paypal), for the donation, you might get more satisfied ppl trowing e few euros your way. I dont know if you have to open a new paypal for that, but even if it is, i guess it would be worth it on the long run. Just guessing from the way u work (speed/quality). You might also want to add the donate icon in your signature when the english version is ready.

Also you might want to consider putting up the names of the ppl who donated on the site or at the beginning of this forum (be editing the first port), as so many other rom cookers here do. A lot of ppl are egoist, and even if they are not, most will still like being named. Trust me it has a good effect on you income. And you really deserve it as you have done a great job for us. I dont think most of us would be this satisfied with our Omnia (not to talk of all the other PDA-s) if not for you.

I have a little request:
Again about the calendar under the digital clock

When we choose the classic now screen, we can choose between Analog clock or digital clock
If we choose analog clock we have just the analog clock and the status icons under
And if we choose digital clock we have the digital clock, the calendar under and the status icon under
And if we choose the professionnal now screen we have the same screen as classic screen with digital clock

Do you think you can do that when we choose the classic now screen with digital clock we don't have the calendar under?

- Kiro OmniaBlue : is the omnia skin but blue color. You can use it with Omnia Icons, Omnia weather, etc.

There is a Omniablue.tsk theme to use with this skin.

Suggestion to improve your product.

1. The unistall script should preserve "MySkin" directory.

2. The install script should ask if the current .dat files are to be copied to the MySkin directory first.

3. The script question "ContinueCancel" should be changed to "YesNo".

4. I prefer to use my own background and now tabs with your buttons and icons. Would be great if you incorporated the following options and directories:

MyBackground
MyNow
MyPrograms
MyContacts
MyWeather

This would allow me to add my own items (only one of each)

I hope you will consider some or all of these suggestions.

i noticed that on 2 clocks No calender there is a rectangle under the clock that is shadowed & still brings up the calender
i wanted to get rid of that rectangle to have cleaner look & less errors of bringing calender up when not meaning to from main screen
i also added the glow effect above status icons on landscape

i just fixed the 2 clocks No calender xml files for light & dark backgrounds

just unzip, & replace the files in your ppc with mine in their relative folders
(do not replace the whole folder..just the files inside)

It isn't a bug; I've inserted this rectangle to create contrast between the number and the background. There are some cases in whitch the background is light in that part and we can't read the temperature. Try the Kyro-Windows for example.

The scripts work if your wireless manager window are options placed in the following order:
- ALL
- WiFi
- BlueTooth
- Phone

If in your device the order is different or you miss one of these options, please edit the switcher scripts adding or removing "SendDown" commands

No need english patch, simply download the WQVGA 2.5 Omnia version from here:

Remove completely the old SpbMobileShellSkins folder if you had installed a previous version.

Unizip the 2.5 zip into the "My Storage" (or Storage card) and run the
"Install_WQVGA.mscr" [if it doesn't work, execute first Mortscript.exe]

Thanks a lot again for your app. I was really impressed with the idea of the options script that can automatically recognize the new .dat files in new folders.
One minor suggestion you may consider is the green bar (among the 3 color bars) for phone status. I think we should keep the blue (bluetooth) and yellow (wireless) bars and leave the green one to save space. I don't think it really necessary since we already have the operator logo indicating the phone status. Or is it there just for good appearance?

First of all you have to extract the zip file (into the My Storage/Storage Card) using a tool like PocketRAR. After that you will see that folder.

The scripts work if your wireless manager window are options placed in the following order:
- ALL
- WiFi
- BlueTooth
- Phone

If in your device the order is different or you miss one of these options, please edit the switcher scripts adding or removing "SendDown" commands

1. If it takes off and u make money then everyone else on the forums will start charging and before long the whole thing will die as the best thing about mucking around with skins is its free. And a lot of stuf is rubbish and not worth paying for (not your program - it rocks!)

2. Copyright - did you hand drawn / photoshop the clocks? if not someone somewhere owns em and you cant sell em. Same goes for any other
stuff you try to sell :eek:

3. Copyright Isssue 2 - SPB may well get funny if people making things for its software start charging - rememeber they kind of let us make changes but may well put a stop to all skinning if they feel other people are making money.

4. Paying for stuff is just not something I personaly would do and I also would not think about charging - I get many requests for 64x icon sets every week and enjoy people requesting them and for me thats enough.

I would like to see the < and > symbols removed from the title on the now screen. I think it would make for a cleaner look. Can the titles be removed from the Calendar, Programs, Weather and Contacts page? I don't need for it to say calendar for me to know I am looking at the calendar page. 1. This is my own risk, because people are free to pay and get my components or to get the other free works.
2. I don't draw the clocks, but i get real clocks pictures and adapt them with a graphic tool to the spb format. I don't think these are copyright protected, because i don't sell phisical replicas. Components made by other users (if freeware) will be included into the freeware package. Sure I can't sell them. (For example I'll never sell your button series.)
3. I don't think SPB will stop the skinning because of they are earning lot of money with the diffusion of their software. If they stop this, people maybe will stop to use SPB MS switching to another customizable tool.
4. My work is now and will be in the future completely free of charge. If people make donations when they use the tool, I shouldn't need to sell nothing.

After I install the WQVGA that folder doesnt show up. What do I do?

Should be a memory issue... The wheater picture in the main wheater page require lot of memory. If your device has low free memory maybe something in the page is not visualized correctly.

Since I'm new to all these skins I have no idea what Ferrari, Modern, Tecno, etc. look like. I just see a big list of names and have to pick one at random to see if I like it.

It'd also be nice if when the lists pop open if the current setting was highlighted so we know what not to pick if we want to change, or what to leave alone. I find myself saying, "Hmm, now which one did I just try because I didn't care for it...? DOH! That's the same one I just tried, time to start over!"

Any way to get "Layout H" that has the clock on first tab, where the calender pops up when you tap the clock, MRU on second tab, Programs on third tab, Weather on fourth, and Contacts on fifth?

I like to be able to swipe across for everything, but having the programs and MRU on the same tab keeps me from being able to. And having the calender as it's own tab is a bit of a waste for me, but tapping the clock for it works great.

1. Is exactly what MikiBest does changes the backgrounds and the layout with his skins.

That animation is very nice - love the digits movement and the weather. However I think you will find in the current version of MS you cant use flash animations on any of the pages so I doubt even with Mikibest's amazing skills he would be able to use it. Something for a future version of MS hopefully.

One extremely minor thing - when you run a script it offers individual or "ALL" customisation which is a great idea but if you dont highlight anything it bypasses it all and you cant go back. I pressed my ok but and it did nothing, then I realised you had to move highlight down to "all" or the other options. Maybe you could highlight "all" as the default to avoid this?

I think it's okay for Mikibest to charge for some components. Personally, I thought he would get around to charging at some point, anyway. If you look at how quickly this tool developed, and how much support there is for it, and the website itself, a lot of time and effort went into it. This is not your run-of-the-mill xda innovation on another program, this is something different. Mikibest is great with "customer service," gets back to you relatively quickly whenever there is a question, and takes special requests like there's no tomorrow.

It appeared to me that he was developing this tool to the best of his remarkable abilities before too many other people could jump on it, and now that he has established a good foundation to build on, and gotten plenty of interest in his product, he can start to charge for some of the extras. It's a classic marketing tool, and he has used it effectively.

So far, his core product (and plenty of options, mind you) is free, and that is pretty cool, if you ask me. If you want to purchase some extras, great, but if not, you can still use his awesome tool for free!:):):)

i found the solution for the above problem, it was actually the settings at SPB mobile Shell. It seems like SPB only support 9 icons. By default all was select at the SPB Menu which is 12 link (Organizer, Internet, Multimedia........Navigation). When i select only 9 out of 12, the first problem that i face earlier was solved. But a new problem appear, the icon and the text is missing. Anyone know how to add icon and text?:confused:

The void item on the tree is the connection manager list. If you add a text this will be showed on the middle of eache page where connection leds are placed. So to avoid this, the text must be empty.

I read your post; your idea is good but too hard to implement: as can you see, the 3 line leds are stored into the button series files, so if you want to change it I have to edit all files. Moreover we can't switch from one led type to the other. Maybe we can create e new button serie with this rounded leds. (if scorpion send me something I'll add to the free package :)).

The Manila clocks are now integrated into the free package..... tomorrow evening i'll release the new 2.7 upgrade.

Some people want the fourth fav shortcut icon removed but I use it all the time so please keep it or make it optional, dont kill it off.

New version 2.7 include two new background images , 1 clock no calendar option, 3 clock pages layout option, 5 manila clocks (blue, green, red , purple, orange) , T-mobile style theme, Nokia Express button serie.....
I don't want remove the 4th icon, i've introduced a new neutral icon style where the icon has little impact to the now page look.

Will be perfect when we can save the choices and retrive them with only one click (maybe in version 3.0)

Well i dont think thats possible, but anyway, asking doesnt cost anything, thats why i second that question. It would be very nice to activate the flashlight with a special button somewhere...

Ah so someone else has the exact same issue - they go back to the first version to feature the coms shortcut and I have explained it a couple of times here but nothing seems to fix it. I have disabled the phone icons in the coms shortcut via the config so all i see is BT and WiFi and have givien up trying to fix it. I thought it might be specific to my HTC Touch but maybe its WM6 as you have a different PPC. Anyway its no biggy and I can live with it as the rest of the program is so great.

- added 3 new button series: HTC white / HTC purple and Nokia Express; optimized the Folders one.
- added 2 new themes: Luna-Arena and Luna-TM White.
- added more layout options: 1 clock without calendar and 3 clock pages (the third page show the zoomed analog clock)
- introduced the detailed version for all analog clocks (if you have purchased one or more extra analog clock, download again the zip file using the same link; it contains now the clock zoomed version; send an e-mail if you don't remember the link)
- added the "Manila" coloured analog clock family.
- introduced the second level selection for the customization options (for example to set the color)

You must use the Uninstall.mscr to remove all , keep that file from the 2.6 full package

HTC digital clocks are grouped into the Diamond option: you should find a sub menu where you can select the clock colour.

I found a bug (or at least a leak in setup) : when I clic on "Jeux" ("games" in English) I obtain an empty screen instead of having all of my games.
Perhaps a bad French translation somewhere ?

I can't find the password for opening "profiles.dat" (the file from SPB PhoneSuite), it is different than the one for SPB MobileShell (b0fm18zq). Is someone know it please ?

I'll have to hard reset my phone and therefore will need to install Mobile Shell and the customation files again. Does anyone know where the settings (the items in the different menus) are stored, so that I don't have to customize all the different menus (Navigation, Tools, etc) again?

Is this possible?

Today-screen tools like TodayAgenda do this, if it helps as an explanation what I mean...

You've got two options:

a) There is a folder called "Original" (\My Storage\SpbMobileShellSkins\Original\Q), just copy the files to \Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell.
b) uninstall and reinstall Mobile Shell. Unfortuantelly, the custumization of the menus will be deleted.

These are the only options I'm aware of...

The reason MikiBest's site says "don't run the uninstall.mscr script" is that 2.7 is only available as an upgrade to 2.6. (So if you run the uninstall script, it uninstalls 2.6.):eek::eek::eek:
