Is that soft compatible with some other softs such as Icontact abd how could I associate the 2 softs, if possible ?

I'm having an issue with the SMS status icon.

It seems to only work the initial time the phone is turned on- for example, if I do a soft reset and click on the SMS status icon, it'll open my messaging. However, if I try to open the messaging up again, clicking on the SMS status icon does nothing, unless I do a soft reset.

Any insight on this?

With Resco explorer or others select files from folder and "Copy to" "Programs files/Spb mobile shell" then Click on "Restart SPB"

Hi;

This tool looks absolutely great; but it seems I can't extract the ZIP file (the 3.1.1 VGA version). I have downloaded it to my computer, and tried unzipping to my device (HTC Touch Diamond), using the built-in ZIP program in explorer (Vista). I have also tried to unzip to catalogs on my PC.
Then i tried WinZip 12.0. The result is the same: After unzipping approx. 2/3 of the files, the unzip programs are crashing.
What am I doing wrong????? :confused:

1. The SpbMobileShellSkins folder contains all the skins, so you can't remove it
2. yes it's possible, see how works the Original skin. You should create a new folder and a new script to manage it.
3. Spb MS is not compatible with other contact manager applications.

Sorry for my ignorance, but where exactly do I have to copy these backgrounds to? I've tried putting them in the "black" folder in Spb mobile shell skins but that didn't work for me...:-(

I'm using SPB Phone Suite and,
my Problem with the SPB Phone Suite is the bigger Ring-Stats Symbols on the Top.
I have read the posts before, but there'snt any solvable Posts. :-) And on imarche.net/omnia FAQ-Page --> file "profiles.dat" and copy it into the Spb Phone Suite installation dir" does not solve my Problem or I do anything irreversible :-)
The bmp's of default.dat in the zip.package are also bigger as the SPB MS bmps, and they are not colored because greyscaled colors, so i cant use them on LUNA'Style, you know what I mean!??

I have solved the Problem otherwise: I have unpacked the profiles.dat and
have resized the image sizes of profiles32.bmp and profiles32_m.bmp files to 64x768 and saved them in profiles64.bmp and profiles64_m.bmp
and the files, which exists with the same name before, i have unnamed in profiles32.bmp and profiles32_m.bmp, which bmp's were my Problem !! :D

May be, that the Problem is only by HTC Touch Diamond??
Whatever, huhuuu I solved the Problem at last.

Your Problem is, you must install first "MortScript" before activate any Scripts from this Package :)

I got it to work again, but now it has no picture. So its just a blank spot next to the phone shortcut. Anyone got anymore solutions?

edit:
I figured out where the problem lies but have no sollution yet. It has to do with the ordening of the menu items. I have them exactly as someone else mentioned a few posts ago, Im using the WQVGA version an on the clock screen the star from my menu shows in the bottom right corner of the screen (a bit more right and down then its supposed to be) And in the programs tab it doesnt show up at all.

Any ideas?

I have to agree with every one else you keep hitting the mark with your improvements.

I can only think of one area left that I would like to have the option to choose the items that are displayed.

The TOP bar - I like large easy to read signal strength and battery level gauges
- I like a row of MRU on the Now screen for quick access to pinned programs. (see attached)

Not saying they are must haves, just thinking aloud.

Well dont mind my rambling from last night haha.
I got it all figured out now, seemed i was using MS 2.1 all of a sudden (installed wrong file)
Now that im using 2.1.2 everything works fine.
So dont bother answering my previous posts.

p.s. 1 small thing, in landscape analog clock view next to the clock is a square where the calendar is supposed to be. I can click it but it doesnt show any appointments

I tried posting this earlier, but it apparently did not get posted. Unless my posts are being moderated beforehand... if so, sorry for double posting.

Yesterday, I missed a call and it went to my voicemail (it's the first time since I've installed this.). My NOW page is showing that I have a voicemail, but there is no icon, and the other indicators are all pushed to the left. I installed the newest version 3.1.1 thinking that it may have been resolved, but no dice..

Anyone have any ideas? Please take a look at the attached screenshot and let me know if anyone can help resolve it (other than telling me to "delete my voicemail").

I am requesting a step-by-step guide for dummies for saving my own theme. I have the files in a folder on my storage card. Where do I go from there? I clicked on the save theme script...then go to the "saved themes" file...and get the following message: There is no application associated with "saved themes." Run the application first, then open the file from within the application.

Also...is there a way to create an option for only TWO contact pages of 16 with a program and MRU page? Thanks.

A lot of us use our devices for business and need to change to silent or vibrate only mode several times a day. I have to be really accurate with my fingernail or take out my stylus to accomplish this from the home tab as the status icon is so small. Most of the time I end up going to the programs tab, opening tools, and then opening the phone profiles from there as that is easier to accomplish while walking into a meeting or appointment. Keep up the great work!

I have a sollution for you:

It is possible to use links in the my menu. Go to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2503021&postcount=2
Download the links and in the tools directory you will see phone profiles directory and phone profiles lnk files. Depending on what u want copy the files to your mobile and direct the my menu to these links. I used the phone profiles.lnk file and all works nice.

p.s. Any chance of some new digital clocks miki? Im using the Luna facet white background and none of the clocks come out nicely because all are white font. I like the omnia analoge but the i can only see the alarm OR 1 appointment with calendar 1 row... not both if u know what i mean.

I installed this program and tried it out, when I tried to uninstall and switch back to my old theme I noticed that my wifi doesn't work at all now. The top bar display shows that Wifi is on, Comm Manager shows it being off, and when I try to toggle on it does nothing. Can anyone help me fix this?

Open SPB Mobile Shell Settings, choose "Today" and change the left softkey to whatever you want. Or you can just press the "dial" button on your phone...

When clicking on a calendar entry on the calendar page or Now Screen the MS Calendar is being opened. Is there a way of replacing the original MS Calendar by a third party calendar application? There are several tools in this forum claiming to to that, but non seems to work for the Now Screen.

Hi I am using your Omnia theme on my Ipaq 914c which is great. Tonight I installed the SPB Phonesuite as I need to have the different profile changes available.(in case you know of another program please let me know). So after installing Phonesuite I now have a different style profile icon in the Mobile Shell startup screen. It is not the Omnia icon anymore but the standard phonesuite icon which is very big compared to the Omnia icon.

Is there a way to change this?

Open SPB Mobile Shell Settings, choose "Today" and change the left softkey to whatever you want. Or you can just press the "dial" button on your phone...

NO No No...that's how this is today, but when I click on DIAL button, it opens Weather page...
I think SPB sucks...Make the phone slower and doesn't help on fast access to regular apps like contacts, dialer and some other...

just remove the Spb MS and then delete the .dat files in Program File ---> Spb Mobile Shell folder

reinstal it and put the modified skin in Program File ---> Spb Mobile Shell folder

it's better to keep the original .dat files in your storagecard :) it works for me if i'd like to change the skin with another modified skin without backup the original Spb MS

I have a Samsung Epix and this was working fine the first few days. All of a sudden it freezes when trying to switch to the calendar tab. I have to hit the red 'end' key on my phone to go to the standard today screen. When I hit the right soft key 'SPB Menu' it freezes. Also when my screen is off and I hit the power button it hangs trying to open the Mobile Shell 'now' screen - only the title bar of the today screen shows and I have to hit the end key to get to the today screen.

I know it is still listed as a Beta for the 320x320 resolution - just wondering if anyone else experienced this and/or knows a way to get it working again. I'm using the latest SPB Mobile Shell (2.1.2) and also use SPB Phone Suite 1.3.1 beta & SPB Pocket Plus 4.0.3 beta (the betas are for 320x320 support). When I run the original.mscr script to go back to the standard Mobile Shell screen everything works fine.

Thanks for any info/tips - I really liked using this for my homescreen.

Nice mod on your now page. How did you add that middle row of 6 application icons between the launcher and status icons? It also looks like you reworked some of your screen space to have all this fit ie. middle applicaiton row, 2 more weeks displayed in calendar or is it that your phone has a larger display?

In any case, is it difficult to make this change? and can you change the app links easily (ie without editing the registry?)

I have to ask the obvious question - you DO have SPB Mobile Shell 2.1.2 installed on your device, correct? These skins are a plugin for that application. It won't work without that.

I've just updated from 3.0 to 3.1 but every time I try do run a different skin the I can't set the launcher buttons, analogue and digital clocks and the weather icons because they've all disappeared:confused:, what 've I done wrong? Version 3.0 was working absolutely fine.

* Has anyone experienced a loss of Samsung Widgets? I deselected spbwatcher and selected the widget option as I fancied a change and it's not working

*Is it possible to use the original spb analogue clock? I reinstalled it all just now and didn't opt to change the extra options and still had it with the iphone theme...I really like it but can't find it within the extra options so assume this is a blip due to the reinstall. I'd like to keep it but not have to have it for every theme (I tend to change themes every couple of days), if I select a different clock for another theme I'm assuming it will be lost?

Any advice on either of these issues would be appreciated :)

Tap and hold and it will bring up a menu where you can remove the contact. I think the pictures need to be set in the WM contacts application.

This program is great!

The only think I wish it had were a preview of each option as you click it.. If I'm not at the computer, I don't know the difference between the different types of buttons or weather icons unless I go to the website and look at them..

Are any of the clocks animated? How can I make my own animated mobile shell clock?

I installed this on my Xperia, following the instructions. As soon as I try to load Mobile Shell it hangs and I have to soft reset.

Ok, well I don't have a skins directory (well besides the one with all the scripts, where I ran uninstall and it deleted everything but did not reset SBP to default) and can't get back to my original SBP layout. Ah well. Will try a reinstall.

I originally asked this.. So, here is all I did..

1. Go to windows/startup
2. delete spbskins or whatever its called (to keep it from launching on boot)
3. reboot
4. delete the spbskins folder
5. go into spb mobile shell setup (control panel thingy) and disable the menus that skins created.
6. Go to \windows\settings (I think) or programs\settings and remove the spb skins link there.
7. Hope there is no more trash littering my phone that I have not removed.


Not that this is a bad program, but lately it seems that lots of GREAT STUFF comes out (this included) but the uninstall is an afterthought and I have to hard reset a LOT if I dont like something.

I hope a later version thinks about this.

my Xperia has become noticeably slower compared to the normal SPB panel interface. I had to uninstall it and use the normal SPB mobile shell to get this program working of course. My phone has froze twice on me after this too. Keep in mind that i did a hard reset before installing this program.

I used the WVGA themes with Xperia X1 phone.

I am not sure if it is different on yours, but on my device the star icon is the task manager. when I hit it, it shows all running apps and I can close all, one, or all but one from there!!

Got mine back to normal after reinstalling SBP Menu overtop the messed up version. Crazy that there is no proper uninstall however; not take away from the work they have done but uninstall I think is pretty important

I have been using this app for a few days now on my new Omnia, and aside from a stray icon showing on a screen (I have done resaets + reinstalls) I am liking it, I just have two suggestions:

1- If possible, to generate a preview page' of the choices as you select them...I must go through the entire setup 5-8 times before I find a combination I like because I keep forgetting what one set of something looks like.

2- Perhaps an easy 'background changer' to allow users to chose unique (AKA images they have on their device already) as a portrait and another as a landscape background....not THAT would be cool!!!!

As I said...just suggestions, I like this app already and will be donating in a couple days!!!! :)

I have a problem. I can't get the themes to work. I'm installing Spb Mobile Shell 2.1.2 och then downloads a theme with dat filer. I then copy these files to the Spb Mobile Shell folder under programs in my omnia. Makes a soft reset but it does not work. i only get 4 black/white ikons under meny.
What is the problem?
Have been looking for half a day here and can't find it.

Something is wrong. About a week ago I had a various theme installed via the SKINs app, and I put my phone into 'vibrate only' mode.. Since then, my phone still thinks it's in 'vibrate only' mode even though I put it in 'normal' about an hour later. Sounds work through TCPMP or Media Player, but otherwise my phone has no sound at all.. I've tried a soft reset but no luck.. Do I need to uninstall this and re-install Mobile Shell to get my phone back?

All I did was install the CAB.....after that, you can't get back to your Today screen. Even when you quit MobileShell, Shell will pop back up in a couple seconds.

Got settings / personal/ today. Then items tab, ensure SPBwatcher is only item ticked.

Open the archive, and copy the SpbMobileShellSkins folder to "My Storage". Then tap the Install_WQVGA script as per installation instructions.

I have in SPBSettings mapped the Spb-SpeedDial-Tab to left Softkey instead of original contactlist. In German the Name of the mapped funktion is "Wahl-Register".

After installation of your wonderful skins the mapping for this softbutton is broken. SpbShell will be opened instead. In registry i found a entry for this, it links to *dialtab*. There may be a fix for this problem?

Believe you can fix by going to Settings>SPB>Select Advanced on bottom>Select Menu>Make sure My Menu is checked...if you want to add stuff to it (Which will be on favorites icon on now page) highlight My Menu and click menu bottom right, then add link, then pick program you want to be there. Hope this was what you wanted.

These two problems I have too.
I think this is the problem of the skin Version 3.1.1. Don't forget, it's a Beta Version, there are such issues quite normal.

I hope somebody will develop further this nice Skin edition. It has a lot of potential, but at the moment unfortunately its a little bit buggy.

The first contact wich is defined on first button in dial tab is not be shown in landscape mode. In landscape mode the first shown contact is the second of dial tab. So in landscape mode the first contact is invisible.

I am suprised about BT...anything specific your trying to connect to? I have connected no problem with multiple headsets, and a Mac at work (in fact, the Mac was by accident...I scanned for BT devices and picked up 2 PCs (one sccross the hall from me), 4 cell phones and the headset I was actually trying for LOL)!!

Not sure if I can help with the errors, but I can try...are they all with Shell and this customizer, or other apps?

Bluetooth - open up windows control panel - bluetooth devices. You need to set the correct com port here and match it to the active sync application (in file - connection settings). Can't help much more than that as it's been ages since I set mine up but I currently have 10 and 11 set up in my control panel and 11 in active sync. You'll also need to turn on discovery until you've successfully paired the device to your PC.

SMTP - not sure as I've only set up pop email to my gmail account. Pretty sure you can only do SMTP with a proper exchange server though.

SMS - get resco keyboard or one of the many full screen keyboard applications - much easier to use. Alternatively you could use the Samsung Phonepad option which is much easier to use but due to a bug in the firmware, you need to hack the phone to set it as the default input method (very tricky as it involves getting the right class id into the registry).

everything was good for the first few days but now all of a sudden when i clcik on my dial tab which is a softkey it takes me to the weather page instead of the dialer. i saw someone else post this problem but he never got a response. hoping someone has an idea of whats up.

also ever since i installed this, whenver i click the calendar icon on th ebottom taskbar (between the now and spb menu icons) my phone locks up. saw someone else ask this and they never got a response either.

so im hoping someones got some ideas. the dialer tab is a big problem for me right now. ive uninstalled and reinstalled spb MS. also whenever i go back to the original script then the dialer tab works fine. but once i go back to a new skin it gets all messed up.

Yes, if you own an Omnia, use the correct version. Your device screen is 240 x 400, so you should use this version. For other question, read the faq on page where you downloaded the skins, those issues are listed there.

Not sure if you have the SAME issue I do (I have an Omnia), but the navigation icon shows on my Home screen as well...it doesn't do anything other than cover half of my task manager icon (doesn't inhibit it's use at all), but it is there!! I think it may have something to do with that specific icon. I tried all the fixes, and it still pops up...Oh well...doesn't bother me enough not to use this app!!

I run the mortscript
the i have run install_SQ320 say yes to install all skins
i make all the next choise.
Then i try to run the scanstatus but nothing happends so i perform a soft reset.

The palm restart correctly but i can launch mobile shell !!!!

If someone could help !!!

Wow awesome skins, and me late in the piece have only recently discovered them... I am using a hw6900 with 240 sq display on wm5

When I click my carrier icon I dont get the wireless menu that I have read you are supposed to get?

I have reinstalled rebooted etc and still nothing.. :( what am I missing or is it a bug?

Also while my device has wifi when I use the wireless commands it says wireless not found on this device :(

anyone else still using a 240 sq display with similar issues? ( Iknow its a bit old now) or is it PEBCAK (problem exists between chair and keyboard)

The only thing I can see wrong with this picture is that this app was designed for MobileShell version 2.1.2!

Not saying it will work for sure, but maybe downgrade Shell to 2.1.2 and see what happens!! (I am on the Omnia and don't have this issue)

Just wanted to check- does anyone with an Epix (i907) have this working without any problems? It still hangs trying to switch to the calendar tab for me. I have tried with both SPB MS 2.1.2 and 2.1.4 just to see if it would help. My first reply and question regarding Omnia, SPB shell and Kyro skin.

Omnia dialer locks up the display/touchpad right after i answer the phone,
which is think it's cool, because otherwise i press buttons on the touchpad
with my cheek. The problem is, that if i first lock the phone and it goes
to sleeping mode (the display switches off), and then answer the call,
the keypad doesn't lock, because the shown menu is SPB today instead samsung dialer. When i answer this way, i have to push the answer key and
then main talk button, to get into samsung dialer, which then locks the keypad.
Anyone knows how to solve this... that the shown menu would be
dialer, after answering and the phone was locked before?

None of the On/Off switch (BlueTooth,Wifi,Phone) actions work! When I press one of them, my phone vibrates for a second but nothing happens. Am I missing something?
- The switch script are based on the standard \Windows\wrlsmgr.exe program; check if it's present into the Windows folder. (It's a ROM file so it should be hidden).
- Execute this program and take note of the window title on the Windows top bar. It should be "Wireless Manager" or something similar.
- Open the registry and go to the following key:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\Menu\Root\Settings\2\cplmain_26

Check if the String value for "Text" has the same value of the wrlsmgr.exe window name; modify it if necessary.
If you can't find the "cplmain_26" key, add it manually copying one of the others.

i have there some questions about a few bugs in this skin suite. (i use the wvga Version for a HTC Touch HD)

First i have the problem with the picture on the main weather page, that was explained here in the FAQ on the imarche.net website:

Why doesn't the application show the picture in the main Weather page?
- it's a memory issue which happens sometimes with the VGA version. The weather icons require lot of memory; it's possible to check the total Spb MS memory running the TestMemory.mscr (extract it from the zip, copy and run from the Scripts folder).
For VGA version download the patch with reduced dimension images:
VGA Weather Patch for all versions until 2.7
(Unzip into the "Storage Card" or "My Storage" root where you have placed the SpbMobileShellSkins folder, replacing existing files)

Is that "VGA Weather Patch for all versions until 2.7" also usable for WVGA Version?


Second I am not happy with that BlueTooth,Wifi,Phone Switcher. It seems to be a little unstable, gives messages, that aren't correct (f.e. "the Phone is already on" - but it is definitely not).

Is there possibility to use the switcher area at the top of the screen to open directly to the Commanager instead of opening the switcher window?
Only the indicators and the operator name should stay.
Is there a possibility for that?
What software is used to program spb Mobile shell skins and functions?

After downloading the updated SPB Mobile Shell, 2.1.4 I believe, I am having an issue with the My Menu icon not linking to anything on the home screen. The icon is there, but doesn't serve any purpose. Is anyone else experiencing issues like this or is there a workaround?

I've been using this customizer for awhile now and love it, but I really need My Menu back as it was my shortcut to all my favorite apps.

When I install the skin all works fine.

When I do a soft reset it says “The file ScanStatus can not be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components can not be found .....“

This is probably coming from the SpbMSSkins shortcut in Startup trying to execture ScanStatus.mscr. I can manually execute the ScanStatus.mscr file however do not know why the shortcut can not.

Can I just remove the shortcut?

Well finally read through all 95 pages but it paid off sorted all 3 issues i had, basically make sure your spb shell is up to date 2.1.2 or later, make sure you order of items in spb are in the right order and finally get update for phone suite icons in this thread (although did like the originals but were to big)....now to have a play.......A big thank you to all who contributed :)

black187, Did you amke sure all the SPB items are ticked? If you want it to boot into SPB then you need to use the the small program the I posted with your answer. After you install SPB watcher then go into the Today screen and make sure the only program ticked is SPB WATCHER.cab Then after a reset it will boot with SPB Mobile Shell instead of your default Verizon or whatever you have.

This is more an SPB thing as opposed to this app, but maybe someone here knows how to work around this. I had programs originally installed to my phone, but moved them over to my memory card to free up space recently. They still show up in the program menu, but the link to the program doesn't actually work and the icon for the programs is gone.

Any idea how to restore the links and icons to the moved programs?

When clicking on a calendar entry on the calendar page or Now Screen the MS Calendar is being opened. Is there a way of replacing the original MS Calendar by a third party calendar application? There are several tools in this forum claiming to to that, but non seems to work for the Now Screen.

And another question (which I already asked twice): is it possible to show birthdays stored in Outlook contacts on the Now Screen (like appointments)?

SPB has a plug-in that will link to Agenda One, Agenda Fusion, or Pocket Informant. You can then make one of them the default in SPB Mobile shell and it will come up from these skins instead of the WinMo calendar.

* Has anyone experienced a loss of Samsung Widgets? I deselected spbwatcher and selected the widget option as I fancied a change and it's not working

*Is it possible to use the original spb analogue clock? I reinstalled it all just now and didn't opt to change the extra options and still had it with the iphone theme...I really like it but can't find it within the extra options so assume this is a blip due to the reinstall. I'd like to keep it but not have to have it for every theme (I tend to change themes every couple of days), if I select a different clock for another theme I'm assuming it will be lost?

Any advice on either of these issues would be appreciated :)
To have Spb mobile shell to run and to use these skins you must uncheck [U]ALL[U] Samsung items from the Today Screen Settings. We hate the wicked widgets. That's why we are here!

i believe someone mentioned this question a few threads back, but on the Now Screen, there are four icons (email, text, calls, and a star icon). it is my understanding that this fourth icon is a "favorites" link but i have no idea how to put "items" into this link. i've been combing the "settings" files, but no luck. does anyone know how to add links to the favorites tab? thanks.
Go into Spb Mobile Shell Settings Customize Menu where you see the list of items. Click and hold on My Menu. Then add links or files with the items you want in there. Be sure all items on the menu tree are checked and in the order given elsewhere in this thread. Then the fourth icon will work and the wireless status leds will be in the top bar. It took me forever for this to sink in from all the good posts in here, but it finally worked!

This is what i would like to know also.
I love these theme packs, with the fast switching and button / clock options it provides and dont want to lose that, but would like to be able to add further themes.

I remember members on our forum loosing widgets when they installed Flash 7 I think and or the newer Flash lite. Take a peek you will get an idea.

This is more an SPB thing as opposed to this app, but maybe someone here knows how to work around this. I had programs originally installed to my phone, but moved them over to my memory card to free up space recently. They still show up in the program menu, but the link to the program doesn't actually work and the icon for the programs is gone.

Any idea how to restore the links and icons to the moved programs?

After installing 2.1.2 and trying out various themes, I decided to go through all the setup/menu items. I have two games on my Kaiser and noticed that when I go into the shell to launch games - it's empty. How do I configure or remap to have that folder look at the proper location? OK...I am giving up for tonight. I saved these images as 16bit BMP images. I have an Omnia, so they are 240x400 in size.

Got it working on my Omnia
had 2 BMP images but couldnt save them as 16BIT (only 8bit or 24bit) so had to download a convertor (used AhaView)

Anyone know a free image convertor as Irfanview or Paint.net dont give the option for 16bit?

I used photoshop, and no matter how I saved the images they did NOT work (I posted them on the previous page). If you could tell me what steps you took, or take a look at the ones I posted and let me know if you see any glaring differences I would appreciate it (I am usually pretty good with imaging)!

I found http://www.gimp.org/ allows you to save as .bmp and 16bit (it's free also)

placed both files imageP.bmp and imageL.bmp onto my storage area then ran the "NewBackground.mscr" file within the scripts folder.

Hmm, I seem to have problem with SPB shell app. I try to open /programs/SPB menu, but it doesn't open, I don't know if this is the reason for my below problems.

I installed the themes correctly it just does not show.

So to get this straight, in the Settings/Today/Items everything I must check is SPBWatcher? What about in Settings/Today/Themes - do I leave everything alone?

If I enable in /Settings/Today/Item just the Spb Mobile Shell, I only get a couple of small icons on today screen, the rest is empty.

What am I doing wrong?

edit: when i uninstall themes, the spb menu starts working again. so there must be something with instalation of the themed.

Is there a way to substitute the classic digital clock of SpbMobileShell with the black diamond clock, without installing the extra skins option menu but only overwriting .dat files?
SpbMobileShell2.1.2-SQ320-Skins_Release3.1.1 is not compliant with my Treo Pro and if I come back to origin, I have to backup and restore my SpbMobileShell folder, because the
specified restore procedure doesn't work well, leaving old icons and settings.

I finally got a chance to look at this app last night, and it is a little rich for my blood. Is there an app that will do the correct conversion that is free (or at least pretty cheap)?

I have PhotoShop (an older version, my Uncle gave it to me as a gift about 5 years ago), but I can't get the images to work no matter how I save them, so maybe there is a trick, or setting I am missing????

Not that I don't really appreciate MikiBest doing those two for me, but I want to do more for future changes!!

I had the same kind of issue and found that you have to have the SPB Custom Menu set up in the exact order as found on Mikibest's FAQ page:

7 [x] Games
8 [x] Navigation
9 [x] -must be empty- (Wireless Manager)

I unchecked it, and I lose the Navigation icon on the Home page, but I also lose the task manager aspect of the Home screen. I liked that one, hopefully I can find a mid-point!!! I've got Spb Task Manager assigned to a long press on my camera button on my Vogue. Works better for me to have it as a hard button. I've also got it on my "My Menu" that I can get from the last icon on the home screen. Two taps that way, but not too bad.

hi guys, i have just downloaded the new background app which is awesome. EXCEPT that i cant get it to work. I currently use GIMP which allows you to save in 16bit format. I have an omnia so i use 240x400. no matter what i do, i still get told that it is the wrong image file. Please can someone help. What i have noticed so far is that when i run the app, and select a file. the file of my choice is xxx.BMP, as opposed to xxx.bmp (the xxx.bmp is when i use one of the original sparator2 files from the qp_bkg_now.dat file)

more investigation as to why the files wont work with the background generator. I have just downloaded a trial version of image convertor. Image convertor convers with a bit depth of 32. An image that i have saved in GIMP saves at 24 bit depth. (i found this when i right clicked on properties) Those are the only differences i have found.

In both examples i have used 240x400, 16 bit R5.... In addition, when i double click on the file saved through gimp, i dont get a preview, however, with the file converted, i do get a preview. Does this have something to do with the bit depth?

Yeah i see that. On one of my old themes, it was volume. On the one i am using now, it takes you to an "items" menu.

Is there a way to control what this 4th icon is? I would like to customize it

In GIMP, when you go to save as it provided you with an advanced functions setting. In here is where you can chage to 16bit.

I have only managed to get a handfull of images to work, and i know i am following the same steps each time. Some work and some don't ????

When i view the properties of some of the images it states 'previous colour' 16bit 'current colour' 24bit ?? even though i saved it as 16bit

I'm glad it isn't just me!! I have looked into GIMP and the new GIMPShop and I can't find the advanced setting to change the bit depth, but so far no image I have saved with any of my apps (GIMP, GIMPShop, Paint.net + PhotoShop) have worked!!

I've searched this thread to no avail; does anyone else have this problem? In late December, my SPB Weather stopped updating. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling SPB Weather, changing weather sources, adding cities, adding weather templates, all with no results. Anyone have any ideas?:confused::confused::confused:

Never mind. For some reason, it would not update anymore via Active Sync; I had to close Active Sync, open PIE, then update. And that worked. Now to figure out the Active Sync thing; I haven't changed any settings...

Image converter is very expensive for me. What i still dont understand is that GIMP saves as 16 bit 5:6:5 as well. but it doesnt work. The bit depth is 24 bit.

Image converter saves at 16 bit 5:6:5 but at 32 bit depth and this works!
