go to my device/program file/igo8
edit the "sys.txt" on your home pc by adding
(backup your orig file!!!)

[interface]
resolution_dir="240_320"
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"

[debug]
skip_eula=1

let me know if it works
good luck

To get it working for me I had to add the following to sys.txt

[device]
type="hp910c"

I also switched over to OnCourse Navigator. It is pretty much the same prog but TTS WORKS!

TESTED THIS ONE ON THE 900:

[device]
type="hp910c"

AND IT WORKS :)
I HAD TO ADD THE GPS COM 6... LIKE ON THE 600

1) TAKE OUT YOUR CARD AND UNINSTALL IGO (IF YOU CAN)
2) DELETE IGO8 DIR FROM PROGRAM FILE OF THE DEVICE
3) ENTER IGO8 DIR IN YOUR CARD AND EDIT THE SYS.TXT FILE

[device]
type="hp910c"

[GPS]
port=6
baud=57600
set_messages=0

4) INSERT THE CARD ( FOR THE INTALLATION....)
IF IT DOESN'T WORK ,CHECK YOUR IGO VER
GOOD LUCK

Well, I have no probs with starting (IPAQ 914c & latest iGO8 v8.3.2.64873) but strange thing happens when I try to change power management settings in iGO. When I change default value "Use Device Settings" to "Always On", my ipaq`s screen turns off whenever I plug charger in. As soon as I unplug charger, screen turns on. After that, only solution is factory reset. Did anyone had same probs?

Cheers!

I could never get the old iGO8 to work on iPAQ 910c. I managed to get the "borrowed version" (8.3.2) installed and loading with no problem or errors, except that it's saying my paid maps are outdated and then I can't exit the application or do anything after except soft reset. The Naviextra Toolbox does not detect my SD or my mobile device to update it anymore either. How can I uninstall this thing so I can try installing my old one back (want to try one of the solutions mentioned above to see if it works)?

It does not show up in remove software, and I see no way that I can get rid of it. what do I do? just delete it from Program Files?

Yes I do,
update your sys.txt file in the root of your program file folder iGo8 as follow:

[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

[interface]
resolution_dir="320_240"
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"

[debug]
skip_eula=1

[device]
type="hp910c"

[timezone]
sync_os_timezone=0
reset_os_timezone=0

[gps]
port=6
baud=4800
set_messages=0
