Okay.. I got a brand new touch dual last week, and off course, it seems to be sim locked.. :o  It IS nice and shiny though. A silver version actually..!
Anyways, I did try the SuperSID and security unlocker.. But i'm kinda stuck at one of the first steps in the manual.. Checking your original radio version and downloading it.. It seems my Niki has radio version 1.58.21.24.. And that isn't available for download.. Anywhere.. :')
So.. I've got this phone on my desk, which i can look at, but can't use.. All brand new, nice and shiny..
I've been searching the forum to see if there's any way to dump my original radio, biut i guess to achieve that, the phone needs to be unlocked on forehand, right..? Any suggestions on how to go about this?

You can try with another radio, like the 1.58.21.23S, but first of all, be sure that you have a NIKI100, not a Neon or similar.

Well, the battery says NIKI160. But fortunately for me, underneath the battery on the phone itself, it says NIKI100.
So, according to the Niki SuperCID thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395945) i can just skip installing original radio (step 8) and flash v. 23s..? Without consequences..?

Hi xxxneoxxx!
I know it's a while ago you were wondering if you could use the .23 radio.. But I'm still curious if you have tried it! And if you did, how does the dual perform?
Thanks!

I had to do that either, one of the two niki100 had a 1.64 radio, and when doing "step 1", it always crashed at 99%. So whay I did was first downgrade the radio to a 1.56, then run step 1, and finally flash back to another radio (random one), it worked perfectly...
Just remember to use spl 1.15 or the unlocker won't give you results...

Hi biktor_gj!
I've already installed spl 1.15. So that's one step in the right direction =)
But how is it possible you can use different types of radio's without any problems? Because several threads warn you for the damage a wrong radio can cause...

Well, after a while of reading up, i kinda gave up on it.. :) Found all kinds of info, none mentioning this radio version.
So i figured; i saved over 150 euros buying it locked, why not pay something to get it unlocked in return. I mean, unlocking isn't that expensive after all.
One of the infos i found was actually that over here in the Netherlands, unlocking your phone using an unlock code doesn't void your warranty, but using software to do it, does. :) So this was an extra reason find an alternative way. Eventuelly bought an unlock code. Went over to www.htccode.com and bought an unlocking code over there. Works like a charm.
I know, it might be the easy way to out, and if my radio version was mentioned in the unlocking thread i would have been more sure of the fact it WAS actually going to work properly, without the battery draining and stuff, but it wasn't mentioned, so i figured i was better off playing safe on this one..
