Is there any way to update the radio on the triband Diamond to get 3G service in the USA?

Thanks for the help!

the answer is NO, so if you find something please send me a private message, you can upgrade your RADIO and use the 850 band to transfer voice, but not use the speed provided by the 3G network... some software restriction i think... please write me back if you find something about it

Please respect others' time and effort. Someone asks this EXACT SAME QUESTION at least once a week, and the definitive answer is that the European version of the Diamond (DIAM100) DOES NOT HAVE THE HARDWARE TO TRANSMIT/RECIEVE UMTS (3G data) ON THE 850MZ BAND. IT CAN ONLY TRANSMIT/RECIEVE GSM (voice) ON THE 850MZ BAND.

A NEW version of the Diamond (DIAM110) has been through the FCC that has 850 Mhz UMTS, and that version DOES NOT have 900 Mhz UMTS (the one used in Europe and on the DIAM100).

If you had followed the rules of this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=429) and were considerate of other people, you would have used search before posting this topic. Please read those rules before posting. As a "senior member" I am surprised you didn't search on this topic before posting this question.
