Using the R5 MOD sins yesterday. The only error I have is the QuickGPS cant update & Camera button not working. The ROM is great for me. Installed program:
1. Tomtom 7.451-Flawless, gps connect ~10-12 seconds
2. iContacts 0.9-Flawless
3. Cyberon VC 2.5.1 WWE-Perfect
4. M2DC very.22-Perfect
Still testing... this ROM is great, I don't know what the big deal was yesterday.
I don't have any errors (lock is working etc...)

All though QuickGPS not working, Tomtom still runs great.
I had a GPS fix this morning in less then 15 second while in moving car
Running R5 with Radio 1.59.44.02.
I perform 2 Hard resets after any flashing and ALWAIS reinstall all applications, most of problems others have I don't have. Lots of peaple dont believe in the importance of hard reset.
I never restore any back ups except email.

I had to download opera mobile from opera's website, because when installing from the cab in the first post i get a popup error saying my device doesnt have a valid rom.

Where can we get other languages for the keyboard?

Other than QuickGPS - big deal my gps locks within 10 - 20 secs anyway - I can't find any problem. New dialer is good too.

Bluetooth is fine, WiFi fine and camera is fine (tho no auto-focus).

Perfectly explainable:
1. You flash the ROM
2. Customizing it all night
3. Falling asleep with the phone in your hand
4. Forget to charge it, then udK is so fast that new ROM comes out and you are out of juice.

Hi udK. Second hour with R7. Have not play with it yet, but did find a bug.
This may be issue with my phone????? When you in call and try to raise or lower the volume, it goes all the way down first. Tried it with speaker, same thing. Even when volume is @ 50%, as soon as you touch volume button it drops to (0). If nobody has this, then it's my phone..

udk, your 3g dialer (from pdm) does not work anymore with the new release (R7).
The button "video call" from the menu in the default dialer, just dials without video..

I'm running R7 with radio 1.59.44.02, and I find the rom great; I actually like the feel of this rom much more than any others.

The only problem I have is that when I start the camera, in whatever mode, the preview display is always zoomed in to the max; and the zoom bar does not work. However when I take the picture, the saved picture is zoomed out.

I've read of some people having issues with the autofocus, I'm not sure if its the same problem.

Second day with R7. Here is what I have come across, indeed
1) Camera starts zoomed in, however taking a picture comes out in correct zoom level.
2) adjusting volume during a call volume is always down all the way. Please somebody else test the volume, I want to be sure it's not just my phone.
Tomtom & Google Maps work greate. The ROM is really good. Better then
3LIT3 II ROM.

The camera does not zoom simply because the Iolite does not have the autofocus function ;)

i finally installed Hard SPL and then this ROM.
Everything worked great. Good Rom.

When i launch the camera i see a black screen. The menü works but the screen looks like there is a cover in front of the cam.

Which kind of radio rom u have ? If u still don't have this one: 1.59.44.02, flash it and your problem should be fixed.
If u already have this radio ... so try to reflash it and/or reflash the rom too.

Try doing it by the SD card, I think it's the simpliest and faster way. Read this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384084) thread. There they explain you how to do it.

If you flash only the radio you won't loose your data.

This method I never used ... if u flash the rom radio using Custom_RUU u don't lost any data and u don't need hard reset, it's very easy and fast.

Glad you made it using Custom_RUU, but just to clarify, yes, if you want to flash anything from the SD-card you have to rename it to POLAIMG.nbh, leave it on the root directory of the card and make sure it's formated to FAT32. In this metod you don't need to leave the card empty just with the ROM or format it before flashing. It works just fine for me. Specially because my USB connection with the PC is highly unstable. :eek:

why this memory is low? In my orginal wwe rom i have 102 mb of memory.

Theres always confusion about the 3D drivers. HTC use a ddi driver that is a core component of the 3d driver that was ported by the P3D team that is often referred to as a 3d driver. The 3.x ddi driver is used by the 3d driver though epimazzo has used the 1.6 driver with the p3d driver and has confirmed that this is working - i havent tested this myself though as i am happy with Maxniper's omnio rom which i think is great and works well with my Android testing.

UDK does not include the 3d driver in his roms but this can be added by using the cab file in the 3d driver thread.

for new TF2D you must update themes with M2DC program. themes have m2dct extension.

Yeah i then started touchflow again, but if i tap the screen as it prompted me it didn't start.

I have R7 running stable with this Opera http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MH67LC7D. Install to main memory, then I modified the registry to have it open from M2D Internet tab, then used M2DC to point the Internet shortcut to "OpenShortcut.exe" in \Device\Program files\M2DC\OpenShortcut.exe and it works great.
I only have a problem with adding cities to weather tab. Checked out many posts (Iolite M2D, M2D v22,21,20...) non of which works. If anyone has a tested & working way to do this please post a detailed instructions.

Adding cities is no problem for me. You just have to put the bigger cities in. (And maybe you must have a wifi connection running.)

i was happy that using Q-GPS from "12345678ap" did download 100% and didn't bring any errors. But now neither in IGO8.3 nor in TomTom 7.9 I get a fix. What is the problem? I think it cannot be that hard to get it working. With the original Windows Mobile 6.0 and TomTom 6 and the original quick-gps everything worked.

i think it is better first to update radio to 1.59.44.02 (for who have not) and then use that QiuckGPS (http://www.avaricum.net/qgps.cab) and after that both wifi & GPS work fine ,you should test it.

I already have RadioRom 1.59.44.02. And I use your QuickGPS from http://www.avaricum.net/qgps.cab
I tried Igo8.3 and after 2 minutes I got 2satellites. Then after 4 minutes they disappeared and re-appeared after 30 seconds. After 5 minutes I didn't want to wait any longer.
2 satellites aren't enough to get a fix.
Does the clouded heaven and slight rain affect getting a fix? Or is there still a technical problem with my rom?

Hello dear,

I should say that when downloading the ROM's you should disable the A/V. it is kmown that some of the A/V's think there is a trojan, and if you don't disable it before downloading then they might delete the "so called" infected file.

I am using AVAST and always disable it when downloading new Roms.

Take care just to enable the A/V after flashing.

i honestly prefer udk r7 to 3lit3 V full because of all the 'trash' (sorry) applications that come in the full versions..

But i really need to use my camera.. if i cant find a solution within the next few days i guess i'll go for 3lit3 V (some version without so many apps) coz the camera is very important

I totally agree with you, I also loved Syrius rom (i.a. that when I touched the Antena Icon in the upper line it opened a System Status Windows and there I could touch one of the buttons for example the conexion button and I directly came to the option of switching on WLan, or if touching the Phone icon I came directly to the Airplane Mode on option - with other roms I always come to open CommManager ...) and the some other "little" things.

BUT I also want the cam working ...

I am sure udK is working on R8. There are couple of ROMs with footprints running OK. I think that we all have few options.
1) Try changing Radio ROM to 1.58.32.33 or 1.58.25.14-NOT TESTED with R7.
2) If Camera is a must, temporarily use a different ROM until R8 is out.
3) Use a Scotch tape and attach a 3 Mega-pixel Photo camera to the back of the phone, thus will improve the photo quality greatly.(JUUUUUST KIDDING):p:p

BTW:
I used my earphones and after I plugged them in, the headphone-symbol appeared at the upper status bar. But the sound still came through the external loudspeaker. Then I unplugged the earphones and plugged in again. Now there appeared a system pop up telling me the earphones got attached and the sound came through the earphones.

The second thing is, after unplugging the earphones the headphone-symbol remains in the upper status bar and the devices seems to work slightly slower. Is there a solution other than rebooting to let the icon disappear?

Look in the temp folder if there is a file called xtra.bin and the timestamp is from now, then it worked though there was a error message. Simply copy the file from temp to windows and then launch quickgps and you should see "downloadtime: 15.02.2009 17:21 or similar.

yes it was, I copied xtra.bin to Windows and opening quickgps it shows the download time 15.02.09 18:05:46 but it also says Valid Time: Expired ...
and new download says exactly the same as above ...

After you downloaded and copied to windows it shows the download time. When you have 5'o clock it should display 6'oclock as download time. so don't update again, instead wait for min. 1hour and then open quickgps again. now is says valid for 6 days and 22 hrs. or similar.

Had this ROM for a few days now. This morning the phone locked up so reset it. Had to take out the battery to do so. Now it won't reboot just stuck at the o2 bootscreen with the RGD versions. Have tried rebooting without sd card in also.

Looks like I will be flashing again when I get home from work.

Hi Guys,
I have a little, and really only a bit nasting problem ...

A few weeks ago, when Syrius CAM was not working I tried 3LIT3 Rom and it changed the First page to its own ... may be you know it.

I find the Syrius one, with the waving much nicer and more sexy than this one, but even after reinstalling R7, it did not come back ...

Any idea how to change it - may be without hard resetting the device - or if having to hard reset, I can keep the solucion for the upg to R8 (when it cames out :))

And the quick GPS, do I always have to copy the xtra.bin to have it working???

I have changed my camera back to 5_04_29195 that handles autofocus correctly. (4_08 lose focus between half press and full press)

Installation:

How to install a cooked ROM.

Install Hard SPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351964)
Put device in bootloader mode.
Run Polaris_CustomRUU.exe and good luck.
Everyone NOTE:
AVG and other anitvirus's usually detect a virus in Custom_RUU.exe, it's false error. Disable your antivirus while downloading and flashing the ROM.


Final Notes:

This ROM is free to use but at your own risk, I take no responsiblity for any conflict, fault, or damage caused by this flashing procedure.
Do not restore any backup from a previous ROM except backup made with PIM Backup.

I installed your ROM R7 for HTC Cruise alias Polaris, but I have problems with gps, does not recognize the device by any software. How can I do?
For videocall I have seen your suggest that the "3g dialer" by PDM but not find it. Can you help me?

Is it (or will it be) possible to change the volume of Audio Manager without changing the system volume?

It's already mentioned that the volume control is not working on the remote control. Probably related to the 1st issue/request.

On the Internet tab, the button "Launch Browser" is not working. The link to YouTube works fine.
Also the buttons "All Bookmarks" and "Browser" (on the bottom of the screen) are not working.

In Programs\Games there's cross to close the folder instead of an "ok" button (default for WM 6.1).

I don't know if it's an issue, but when changing the Home screen background, it only changes on the first tab.

When unplugging the wired remote, the headset icon is still displayed on the top of the screen.

Edit:
When a program is added to the start menu, it is still visible in the program folder.

@SaBo you say its unecessary posting that information but it is not said on the first page what is included only about 2 lines have been updated and if more have then how come it still says that the SYS: .... Iolite ?? as i thought this being a 21XXX build it would have come from the topaz/rhodium roms?
Also sorry if there has actually been more updated and it just so happens that the correct data is the same as R7.

Agree with you there, It's built with 3.13 drivers and with the normal applications and footnotes, and nothing extravagant. And memory is still 85.14 MB, no Radio and CEOS: 21038.1.6.0

Hmm, benefits would of "just" a newer build would be you could use
the latest Rhodium menu enhancement and other goodies which require
at least a 21xxx build rom. Concerning the 85MB, maybe someone should
tell udK about the patch which chavonbravo and cmonex worked out and
he would include in the next beta. Actually the 100MB patch is just
changing a few files and patching one hex value.

Camera works very good, but quick gps don't work (it's no problem form me) and gps have problem with any aplication like virtual gps, trackbuddy. My automapa works good.
Test with radio 1.65.30.09 and 1.59.44.02.
And don't work HTC Rhodium Menu Enhancement and 3LIT3 Menu Enhancement.

The preinstalled QuickGPS does not start.
I tried the fix for R7, provided in this thread, with copying the file to Windows directory and setting time one hour ahead. This version does start and after copying the file it stats, that the GPS data is correct, but still skips downloading at 70something percent.

I found another minor bug:

The headphone symbol in systray does not vanish, when headphones are removed...

In other Roms, like N-Anime there are volume buttons in the music tab. Could you please add these to this ROM too.
I have in ear speakers, that need only a very low voltage, so that even the lowest system volume step is very loud. I just changed from R4 to R8 and I have the feeling, that volume steps have even become bigger in the new rom. With the player volume buttons in N-Anime, I could combine the two volumes to set a lower amount. With your ROM, I always have to deal with equalizer to lower the volume. I think, this is not a very elegant solution...

Solved this by copying VerInfou.dll to the windows folder.

Yes, works, but only with standard quickgps, which comes with udk R7. With the postet fixes it does not work.

So every one who finds "udK QuickGPS" in his "remove programs" tab has to uninstall udk quickgps an put the postet Verinfou.dll to windows. Then everything is fine !!

I haven't seen any udk quickgps on my htc touch cruise but I did install quickgps from this post:

Does anyone know how to disable the name suggestions when typing in a name for a new sms?
I get 2 suggestiions, 1 just above the keyboard and 1 just below the name i'm typing.
I would like to remove the suggestions directly blow the name i'm typing.
