Installation:

How to install a cooked ROM.

Install Hard SPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351964)
Put device in bootloader mode.
Run Polaris_CustomRUU.exe and good luck.
Everyone NOTE:
AVG and other anitvirus's usually detect a virus in Custom_RUU.exe, it's false error. Disable your antivirus while downloading and flashing the ROM.


Final Notes:

This ROM is free to use but at your own risk, I take no responsiblity for any conflict, fault, or damage caused by this flashing procedure.
Do not restore any backup from a previous ROM except backup made with PIM Backup.

PIMBackup should work... i try in the next 5 Minutes...
but i only restore my SMS and Call History... the Rest via Active Sync and Exchange

good to know that's not only me with that feeling...
TouchFLO runns great, but as an example the scrolling at the program-list is slow as usual.

Very nice ROM. Restoring messages and contacts worked just fine, and the gui is fabolous.
I've only encountered one problem... my IGO2008 is not starting (it's a cracked version, but worked fine on other roms). I'll try and reinstall it and see if anything changes.

If anybody has advice on how to solve this easier please help.

seems a nice rom, will install it asap, i'd have prefered it without Google maps as it's usable only by a few of us who has the right "mobile contract", but this is really not a problem!!

* TouchFlo has its own wallpaper, doesn't use the system one (and choosing another is very difficult), so I can't use my wallpaper changer. Too bad, means I'll be using another ROM (there is no point in wasting that much RAM).
* WiFi is disabled in CommManager, if turning it on from Connections then you can't turn it off (after a reboot I got the icon in the upper bar, so I did turn it off)
* iGo8 works fine
* Button 4 can't be reassigned (only "4 hold")
* The system startup sound is very annoying.

I have some small bugs:

1. i cant get to comm manager with voice dial button.Cant toggle it in Buttons menu.
2. When connected through usb cable, i cant update weather, rss, and i cant go to the internet.On other roms that worked.
3.Cant turn off 3G. There is no option in settings-1 tab-phone

Otherwise, i really like new look of comm manager, dialpad and camera menu. Also the camera album is nice looking.

Opera is v9.5, build 1938.

This manila interface is MUCH better tha throtle launcher. I tried them both, and on udk`s rom is fast, really smooth workng.

Yes, QuickGPS fails here as well. Notice it's v1.0 which is really old as well. udK should update this for R1

Hey guys, may be before posting u should read the forum.
All the troubles except color changing are already mentioned many times here. Also some suggestin about Schaps configuration utility to be able to disable 3G network.
About wifi that must be enabled via settings, but still there are some troubles.

So read before post in other case the forum will be full of same posts about same troubles and will be really hard to find some answers.

- QuickGPS not updating
- Manilla sometimes hangs for a few seconds
- Batterymeter seems to stay at 100% ?? it doesnt show %

Try to use other USB connector on your computer.That is sometimes the problem.

- audio manager is always searching for music, alwys, for about 3 sec( i have 4gb of music)
- programs menu( in manily, last tab = programs, when press left soft button for ALL PROGRAMS, i get 3 icons per row.And the scrolling is more smooth than in the Programs menu(start-programs)

I've found that if you go to Wireless LAN settings you can enable wifi. Then you can access system status by hitting icons on top bar to show 'connectivity' and from there turn off wifi. After this process wifi is not greyed out in comm manager but I have not tested after a soft reset.

I really like the interface. Performance is just fine especially when you consider you can get to almost everything by only having to go down one level, unlike native Windows where there are multiple levels (getting to settings -> connections for instance).

I see some are having problems flashing and getting stuck at 17%. I noticed mine 'paused' for a short time at 17% and then got cracking again. Maybe people are disconnecting thinking something is wrong and interrupting the flash?

New radio works fine in AUS. Locked onto Telstra 3G signal really quickly.
I'm having no problems with WiFi - turn it on and off in Comm Mgr.

I was trying to install the new Syrius R0 ROM and the proces got stuck at 17%!
I didn't do a thing during the process and also didn't touch the USB cable.
5 minutes later the update tool told me there was a problem with the communication between the polaris and the host PC, so i had to recover.
Recovery went fine, but when i want to install this or another ROM the process stays at 0 %!
Could someone please give me some advice...:confused:

I got the RUUNBH error, which i managed to solve by using the HARDSPL from the HTC ELF not the Polaris strangely...:confused:

But anyway, i tried to flash the Syrius ROM again and the process got again stuck at 17 %!

Why is that?
I'm really dissappointed the ROM doesn't work out for me.

I do have some issue which have not been mentioned yet and some others that I do not:

issues not mentioned:

- the windows and ok buttons cannot be remapped and their links do not work
- the shortcut pics in programs look very ugly :)

- wifi can be turned on and off in TouchFlo

- quick GPS runs to 100% but then says connection failed

woooooo, everything works as i thought it would apart from the d3d thing.

i thought therew would be 3d drivers included with this, but seems if i install the d3d sample program which i assume should work if 3d drivers are available, it does not and the imagers take about 10 seconds or so to update the image.

is this supposed to be a build that includes the drivers or not?

I go trough recovery process, but the phone, goes to 0% before i click the update image button, not sure if it is supposed to be like that. its stuck at 0%, and i have tried different images, including the R9 i used without problems.

When i did the image, i had to replug the usb cable before the image started pushing, i think that is the problem here since the indicator on the phone goes 0% even before i start the image push. and if i try replugging cable while the 3 colored bootloader is there, i just get a message about communication failure in the romupdater.

Any tips for fixing this?, please??

IGO 8 works just fine.
I noticed just one problem. I can't start TCPMP 7.2
I am testing some movie in coreplayer benchmark. I have about 100 % with qtv display drivers, directdraw about 112 % and gdi 91 % average speed.
Direct draw have best results. Before was 60-70% with coreplayer (same with all drivers). But there are some strange "flicker belts" across display. I have noticed that camera (video recordind) works really better. You can now actualy watch this recorded videos on computer.:)

When you're doing the upgrade, are you leaving your microsd card in the phone? Often, that can cause problems. I would remove it and try again....

I've one issue that I've seen in other roms but can't remember or find the solution. When opening an online link in RSS hub, an error message states that file cannot be opened as it is either not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found.

OK, I've solved the wallpaper problem.

TouchFlo does use the system wallpaper, but uses more restrictive rules for the file names and registry keys than the system, so it didn't previously worked.

i really hope this can be fixed because it looks very nice to look at and to show-off but currently pretty cumbersome to use

After a couple hours, here's what I've noticed.

(think someone already mentioned) Can't use finger to zoom in album
In Settings/Buttons - Button 4 is missing (only Button 4 Hold is present)
The End Key will only lock device, even if select Display Quick List or one of the other options


Wifi option is not grayed out in comm manager (except when connected through ActiveSync).
Mapped it to the Button 4 (Hold) for quick access.
--Battery status works perfectly for me.

**Recommend hard reset after installing the ROM!

for the audio manager i tried with and without sdcard.

1. no sd card and music from device: no problem audio manager startet correctly and played the music

2. add sd card with music:
audio manager searched and add correctly but could not play the file.
if tried to start playing an file it hang up.
but no problem for windows media player.

this is pretty much unbelievable. its running very very fast (has SOME bumbs but just SOME)... and the shell is MEGAcomfortable. i would like to make some changes but in general this is amazing the 3D drivers addition is more obvious than a fat guy in somalia...

I wouldnt recomend that to anybody. I did some changes with advanced config tool 3.1 and i couldnt do anything with the pda, cause the screen was like dead. Nothing worked when i tried to press buttons etc, just scrolling worked. I tried with soti pocket controller to change the settings, but in 5 times with different settings i couldnt get screen to work. Hard reset was unavoidable :(

I can also confirm that iGo 2008 doesn't work :( Have to revert to an older ROM. And BTW, this ROM runs a bit sluggish on my Orbit2. And the finger scroll is not that good.. :(

Go to reinstal iGo8.
My iGo8 work perfectly; this evening, work-home (Roma, with SyriusR0) all OK!

First off, congratulation with a great rom, this is far the best rom I've tried so far. I've tried to collect and summarize the problems (bugs) I've found with Syrius R0 so far:

#1 QuickGPS not working
Problem: QuickGPS starts to download, but fails at the end.
Solution: None as of yet

#2 Video playback not working
Problem: Playback of video clips made by the camera does not work.
Solution: None as of yet

#3 Auto focus on camera not working
Problem: Pressing camera button halv way down does not focus like before
Solution: None as of yet

#4 Unable to enable WiFi in COM Manager when ActiveSync is connected to PC
Problem: Seems to be a problem enabling WiFi when connected to the PC.
Workaround: Disconnect the mobile from the PC when using WiFi until a permanent fix is available.

#5 Hardware buttons for browser (IE) and GPS gives error messages
Solution: Re-map buttons from Settings / Personal.

#6 Video calls does not work

udK: Bugs, congratulations messages and plain old stupid questions seems to flood this tread. Can you please update post 1 or 2 with a list of known/confirmed bugs so that we don't have to re-read and re-post them 100 times.

to be honest, since the camera album is not designed for this device id like the old camera album back too. i noticed that in HELP on the camera album, it says to rotate picture to tilt device, this means the device needs an accelerometer, which we dont have, so,

old camera app required and old camera album required. these must be available in cab form somewhere.

This is an issue, but at the same time doesn't seem to negatively affect the pictures and overall the camera has never responded this quickly!! This is by far the fastest this phone has ever run (experiencing no sluggishness)

Another minor bug - From the Photos and Videos am not able to get any of the videos to play!:confused:

After installing hebrew language (PARAGON LENG) and after reset phone doesn't show any text at all:(
It worked on all udk roms untill this one...

Any advice what to do?

First i thought that the touchflo plugin wont let it start so turned it off in today options installed PARAGON LENG then after reset there is no text at all

Any help appriciated
