I would personally like a rom without office mobile and orneta calculator built in as well as ricks extras folder. Have tried cooking my own unsuccessfully. Would go to kavanas rom but like the custom panels on ricks rom. If you are doing it then it would be awesome to have mini weather built into the rom since i'm a big fan of it!! Also you came out with a cab that adds a reboot option to shut down screen that i absolutely love, would be great if you could build that in as well org!!

I can see your point in that since the last ROM's there have been many tweaks in appearance etc, to which could be made readily available from the ofset, including weather app would be cool, would be good if this was a project for all users so with your knowledge we could all get the ROM we want?
Mind you would be another outlay as i'd have to get another Dash the last thing i'd want to do is change the look i have on Dash :)

Hey yeah there is one benefit. When you reach 50 programs installed the remove programs list goes blank. It would be one less program to add to list freeing up a space for another program to be added without the above happening. Its just a personal request as well, seeing as org is thinking about doing it it makes sense to me to have his great weather app built in.

I like Ricky's rom, and have been using it for quite a few months now. It does everything I need and more- but there are a couple things I would change.

-Multiple keymaps, for excalibur/dash/different language keypads
-undo the shortcuts back to original, so the ie button goes to ie, etc
-default a wallpaper in the call screen for an alphanumeric converter, or find a way to make it work properly like Tmo did
-Some sort of a reboot shortcut would be awesome! Even better- a program that reboots for you every day at a specified time
-am I the only one that constantly needs to close programs and free memory? If not, a shortcut there would be nice too!

Thats all I can think of, adding more neat programs and such is such a double edged sword- some will love it, some will hate it. Personally, I would like to see a weather program and I always load Live search and google maps, but others may just prefer to have more available memory. It seems like I have to go into celetask and stop everything, then run the free memory program twice to get enough memory to run skyfire:(

I'm being facetious. I just always think it's funny that we can't post "warez" unless they're in a ROM image.

And with respect to piling on the software, I'm not a big fan of putting anything except essentials in a ROM. Since you can't please everyone, there'd be floods of messages here from people saying "I don't like application XYZ that came on the ROM; it's a memory hog. How do I remove it?" or "I don't like the default magenta sliding panels. Why didn't the ROM come with peuce?"

Funny thing, in my time here I have learned a lot. Some dont ask questions, some search- I am that guy. I have all the Kavana and most of the Ricky roms right here on my computer- I was around and tried each as they shot out that week (or so it seemed). To say a member is not worthy because he doesnt get involved in worthless posts is odd to me.

If a new Rom is built. NRG I liked your slim weather the best. (clean simple clear) Although with the test UI it steered me away when Showaco made a plugin for psportscenter. I incorporated outershowa weather with shows slim style cpr which is an acceptable band aid. Not that I would be picky but having the option to use that plugin would be nice. So, like I said if you concoct a mixer maybe you could take that into consideration.

It's got a great developer base since they don't have to learn wonky languages or pay a fee to develop like some other companies. Keep in mind, tho, that a lot of the software will depend on the capabilities of the phone. Most software right now was built to test the platform. Most proto-phones people have been using don't have some of the gadgetry like GPS, accelerometers, etc., that some of the official android phones will have, so there's not much there yet.

And tongue-in-cheek, it's not a matter of how many apps a platform has, but whether the ones with functionality you NEED do exist and do their job well.

I would like to see a ROM that improves upon the Java VM. Kavana 0408 rom has a version of Java VM that works very well with Opera Mini. However it does not work very well with Gmail and some other java apps.

Actually I'm really happy with my phone right now, but I'd like to try another stuff, just for kicks, and since my programming knowledge is very limited (at least for smartphone) all I can do is offer myself as a beta tester. I've been looking a little on this TouchFlo2D and it seems very nice. But if it's some home made ROM by the people in the Excalibur Forum that would be even better. I know we have very capable programmers around. So, count me in.

Cant believe i missed pancake day almost photoshoped my own photo of some onewith a pancake on their head but im too busy trying to recook that rom so it contains an ATM for gix. I cant make ridiculous pictures on photoshop all day you know.Ill let you guys know when its done.

Well, while the thread is trashed... haha... I have managed to cook up a good ROM based on the latest WM6 Tmobile Drivers and a whole new core and SYS from the "Rose" (S740) phone. This one has the new Chome and many new improvements such as a new dialer and calls screen, new weather app, new Java Jbed, etc etc.... I'm still debugging it right now and I might need some "alpha" testers before I release it in the wild. If you'd like to help please PM me :) Thanks
