Text Message Delay

Quick question,

My GF is on the Verizon network and I'm on the Sprint Network with my Titan.

It's pretty consistent that a text message can take anywhere from 5-20 minutes before she get the message. Is there a reason why? This normally doesn't occur to other people I send messages to.

Radio: 3.35.04

I also get the delay with verizon users and I'm on Sprint. I think I read some where that it's a network issue between the two to or something.
