TyTNII Freeze Help me recover data

Help anybody. I am a total technoweenie and my TyTNII has locked up on the orange screen, it doesn't even get to windows. How can I get to the information on the phone, photo's etc. Orange, my provider were useless and NTC reckon that there are some pretty clever people on this site who might be able to help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):)

Even thought it freezes can you still hook it up via USB to your computer? Does it recognize it? If so you can use file explorer and get to all the files, if not I don't know of any way to get to the RAM. You might check for an APP that just mounts the phone as a USB drive and see if that works. Otherwise I would suggest a hard reset to get the OS working again but you will lose all your pics and other files.

I've tried the USB but it doesn't recognise it and I'm trying to avoid the hard reset at all costs as there are some pics etc on the phone but also some texts I need to recover. Excuse me for being a bit dumb but what is an app? And where might I find one quickly. Also is it possible that the battery might cause the problem? I've been reading some of the stuff on the web but confess I understand little of it. My knowledge is the human mind not the artificial one unfortunately

an APP is an application, but if the phone is not being recognized via the USB you won't be getting to your files on the phone via the PC. So none of the files were stored on a storage card that you can pull and copy files off of? Sounds to me you are SOL. You could try a different battery but it most likely will need to be charged outside the phone.
