I'm not exactly sure if the TouchFLO has to be on a touch screen phone, but I've seen pics of this 2D version of TouchFLO floatin' around and I'm wondering if it can be ported to our phones?

Anyone know?

After a bit of searching.

all the cabs are available in xda development and hacking forum. But the total install is around 26mb. I installed on my tilt last night and its pretty sweet. Dpad navigation works, so maybe a possibility that it could work, just have to try it. They also have the oems available for using in roms. Maybe nrg can cook it into his rom.

Has anyone here tried this yet? Its working almost perfect on the shadows, so the only reason you might have problems is the landscape compared to portrait layout. But that could be worked out, the main thing is that it will work on wm standard if anyone's interested in it.

Here's proof of smartphone version, shadowmike is porting over.

It's only for htc phones right now, so I can't try it on my blackjack before it sells to let you know any more than that. I can tell you on the tilt, that this is a great interface plugin.

thats just a matter of changing the settings xml for the image layout and changing size of background images, wouldn't be to hard, just takes a little time on spacing adjustment. The zip with all needed cabs is in the first link. shadowmike may have changed some of the files to use on smartphone, i'm not sure. He's supposed to have his done this weekend and should be available on allshadow.
NRG should get this for excaliber/dash if he's serious about making a rom.

Nice, how about that HTC Viva, I think its using the same processor as the Dash, but with native TouchFlo, can't wait.

If someone could put the XML code up then we could all do our little bit here, all we would have to do is highlight change and the original post could be corrected :)
Then all we need a test bed shore Reeg would be into this?
Just trying to make us all involved :D
I know this would be simps for showaco :)

Manilla Touchflo2d is now working on htc smarthphones for anyone interested. The layout is for portrait, but is has a xml file that you can adjust all the tabs, icons, text etc , so that it will view correctly on the dash/excalibur. Here's a link to all the files needed and a good thread on setting it up for smarthphones.
http://allshadow.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3354&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=40
The files and links are about half way down the page along with install directions and lots of screenshots.

Anyone would care sharing their xml for the dash? I'm not too good with those sort of things...
Cheers

so,
while we're all waiting for our "Dreams" to show up on the 22nd, this would be a lot of fun to play with. If anyone figures it out, and could even just write down how they did it, I'd REALLY REALLY appreciate it, as I'm sure everyone else would as well. Thanks!

I've bn working on it for about 4 days now but I don't have alot of time. I know that show has been doing some work on landscape as well.

I offer myself as a test dummy for it. Just tell me what to do. It seems to be quite impressive. I hope showaco will come out with some good stuff

hey gorap, have you already installed it on your dash? You have to move the tabs first so you can see them. I've got some of the landscape values for home and weather. The programs page auto adjusts to fit I believe. The wallpaper background has to be widened as well(hh_fw_background.png). :)

Yeah, I have been installing and uninstalling for the last 3 or 4 days now. (I love Sprite Backup) I am currently ditching the internet page and audio manager for sure. I use the diamond album rather than the one provided in the install because it seems to work and it is landscape. I saw your post on the default portrait changes you made for switching to landscape and I was going to try to incorporate them into my attempt. It is really time consuming though having to stop manilla 2d process and copy the xml file over and over. It is really slow writng to the windows folder because the install puts so many files there that it even takes my laptop a while to write there. If you have a new version of the xml could you post it. Thanks

Yeah, its a slow process changing the locations, checking them, changing a few more pixels....:)
Here's the last one I worked on(I haven't done anything in a few days on it). Just remember, my second set of values(where applicable) are the ones you'll want to move into the first set positions because my defualt orientation is landscape. Why'd you take out the internet page? You know that you can link it to whatever browser you use, right? I haven't made any changes yet to the music, photos, email, messaging, or contacts yet.

showaco, do you happen to know how many pixels there are between the icon bar and the menu bar your file has 140 but I think it would be more than that.

I don't know exactly, the 140 works for landscape on the tilt. You have the task bar at the top(27 ?), the title bar for touchflo(25 ?), tab bg(38 ?), and soft keys. Not sure exactly which ones count against it but it seems to work. Gullum posted that number, I assume he got it by trial and error.

.. I'm a total noob to this and I'm a little scared of bricking my phone. How do I install it on my Excalibur? I know there is a procedure on main thread of the Touch2D but I'd like to know if it applies to Excaliburs.

@ Showaco: Maybe if you have some time, you could write some simple step-by-step on how to do it. I'd really like to try this and the skins you're making :)

I know you posted on this thread...but for anyone who wants a horizontal theme, without the slowdown, check out My CycloneSkins (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550752) thread...I will soon be releasing, hopefully, a working version of a horizontal theme...
