First things first - I would like to give a big thankyou to MRE-net for the original idea for my theme, also for his help with setting up a CAB file. Without his input i would not have been able to have achieved this. Also for this task i have used the Manila ed tool to great effect so thanks to the developers of that as well.

Warning: The usual caveat applies to this, use it at your own risk. However the CAB file works perfectly on my 1.37 ROM and has also been used successfully on a 1.93 ROM so you should have no problems at all.

Version History
Version 5 - 29/Sep/08 - As version 4 but with a transparent scroll highlighter (looks good). If you have the large icons showing on each screen then V5 is not for you as the large mid screen icons will dissapear. if you do then use V4 and download Pama's transparent slider(which itself may not work if you use the CAll history /callendar tabs) See post #42 for full details

Version 3 - 19/Sep/08 - At the request of user 'skizZO' Now includes Icon for Calendar tab, with relevant Manila files edited - *Important* You must already have the Calendar Tab enabled for this to work. If like me you do not have a Calendar tab available then you can get a CAB file to install one by searching this site. Also at the request of the user 'timoline' i have Inverted some of the icons so that they all face the same way(Don't know why i didn't think of that! Thanks!)

The Call history - Messages - Email - Internet - Photos, and Weather icons i made myself using various downloaded icon files and a bit of 'cut and paste' wizardry. The Home - Contacts - Calandar and Music icons are files i downloaded without any editing. For the Settings and Programs tabs i used icons supplied by MRE-net(thanks again)

In my opinion they look great on the Diamond.

I don't use the Email tab which is why you won't see it in the screenshots, but there is an Email icon included in the CAB. I'm not %100 convinced with the Music icon, but i couldn't find another one that i feel fits better, i'll change this if i find a better one.



I particularly like my Weather Icon, took me ages to find and then Paintshop it to my requirements. It's amazing how hard it is to find good 3D weather icons!!

To install simply- Disable TF3D
Install CAB (Automatic soft reset will occur)
Enable TF3D
And you're done!!

*** If you are updating versions don't forget to uninstall any previous versions of the CAB first!!! as the new CAB won't overwrite the old one***

Thanks, I've certainly got the bug for this now!! I'm working on some other stuff like new icons for the Call history list and various other bits bobs so hopefully i can come up with some good stuff.

Hi, unfortunately i didn't include a calander icon as i don't have the calander tab(don't think i have the original Manila file), as far as the missed call icon goes are you talking about a seperate 'Missed call' Tab? or do you mean call history? there is a call history icon but no missed call, this is because i don't have a seperate missed call tab. That said i could quite easily amend the call history icon to a 'Red' Missed call icon for you if yo want.

TF3D is a plugin in WindowsMobile...

Click on

Start -> Settings
Today
Item (the second page)
Uncheck TouchFLO 3D
Click Ok

Now TF3D is turned of ...

That's just about right apart from you don't need the theme file at all, the theme file is just another way of doing it.

Simply put the CAB in your internal storage,
turn off TF3D,
Install cab - Phone will automatically reset,
Turn on TF3D,

and you're done!!!!!

Hi stevedpl7, thank you very much for sharing with us your beautiful icons. I have been searching everywhere for some nice icons to use and I just loved your icons when I first found this thread. Great work and appreciate it!

One suggestion though, may be pushing it a little. You would probably realise that when you scroll through the tabs from left to right, there is the black square box that highlights the icons as you go along. I find it a bit of an eyesore especially if you are using a non-black wallpaper/background as the black box just stands out. I am wondering if it is possible to make it kinda like a glass box (ie transparent) instead so that the background colour can still be seen? Or perhaps the black box can be changed into something more interesting than that?

Hi yeah i had thought about doing this before as i've got a full screen image on the home screen. I've had a try for you but unfortunately i've been unable to locate the relevant manila files so can't help i'm afraid. But i like your thinking and if anyone can help find the right manilas then i'll get it changed.

Heres how i do it -

You will need - the manila editor program
WinCE CAB manager
Aprogram for editing/ making PNG files (i use Pixel editor)

(all of which can be downloade freely and easily)

Ok, using CAB Manager open my cab file use cabinate\files\extract to extract the manila files to a folder on your pc. Then open manila editor and under 'select path' choose the folder which you have the manilas in. Using manila editor to change the images is REALLY easy so i'll leave you to suss that out, just remeber once you have changed an image it will show up highlighted, no need to save just shut down the editor and it's done.
Thhen back to cab manager, 'cabinate\files\add and add the files you want to replace, overwrite the old ones, just remember that the location for instal must read '\Windows' save and exit. Put the updated CAB onto your device and install!!!

Obviously i don't know yor computer background or level of expertise but this is something i figured out for myself and i'm only an upeer average user so it's reall is quite simple. Just remember to keep backups at all times and keep a good track of what you're doing.

Hi Steve, it's a pity though that there isn't a fix for the problem I mentioned, but at least you are aware of it you will be on the lookout for a solution later.

Btw, I treid installing your CAB and Theme files on 2 seperate occasions and would you mind teling me what the differences are? Because as far as I noticed there wasn't any, except for the different file types...

There's no difference between the Theme file and the CAB, another user asked me to zip the same files as a theme instead of cab so i uploaded that for him. I'll PM you if/when i manage to change the tab background

Ok, I have been working on extending my basic theme to include new icons for the first level menus. Here they are -

Perfect!!! I was looking for just this very thing. Another user had already asked me to do this but i couldn't single out the manila files up until now!

Unfortunatley the CAB doesn't work for me, i think it must be something to do with the call history tab, but at least i have an idea of the relevant manila files now.

I tried a couple of soft resets and then reinstalled the latest icon package, but to no avail, could be something else I've done since I never stop pissing around with my phone! :)

Not %100 sure which icons you are on about but i think you may mean a large rendition of the tab icon which appears mid screen when you scroll to it? hope i'm right.

If this is the case then i can explain. Each of the tab icons has 2 manila files, one which shows when the tab is NOT selected and one that shows slightly smaller when the tab IS selected, this means that once the transparent slider was over a tab you would see a 'double image' i'm guessing after reinstalling V4 you will be seeing this (smaller icon on top of the bigger one) obviously the original black slider covered up the 'larger icon' so you could only see the smaller one. To make the transparent slider look right i had to make the smaller icon(the manila file for the highlighted tab) totally transparent.

Not i would conclude that TF uses the manila file in question for the large mid screen icon you are missing. I don't have these icons on my phone so i can't be sure but i think this is the case.

Now i can do a version with the manila files changed back to show the icons but you will get the double icon when you select a tab, and IMO this looks a bit rubbish. Here is an image to help visualize what i'm on about - Look at the photos icon.

Hi, all of my icons have transparent backgroungs and are PNG format. If you mean the large graphic i put on page one showing all the icons together then this is because that picture was put together using MS Paint and therefore the transparent parts show as black. but rest assured they are all transparent, as can be seen when viewed on the phone.

Hi, your scenario is not exactly what i have at the moment I have never seen that infact. I have just done a re-flash so I had to go through my manilla customisation again. After the no large central icons in V5 I decided to go for V4 and use pamas's original transparent slider. with this combination since I don't use the calendar or call history tabs everything is perfect. I don't have the double image you show above, just the normal slider icons and a nice enlarged version centre screen as I slide left and right. I know it's just eye candy, but that is the whole point of manilla customisation and at the moment I think your icon set is the best around so it is nice to get a better look at just how nice they are when the large version pops up centre screen. Thanks. :)

I had the same outcome using v5 as above - losing the big icons

so I've now gone back to 4 and pamas slider.....and voila, everything is as it should be - so you don't need to change anything at all

I was thinking the same. Also, are you willing to provide the theme in a *.zip format for the individual *.png files? I want to apply a lot of this theme to my TP, all except the TF3D Tab Icons. The existing suite I am using is my preference. The icons in the Communications tab, as well as Call History tab are what I'm most interested in.

One problem: when I scroll the transparent slider to the right all icons go to the left, except for calendar tab: it goes to the right!

Version 5 - 29/Sep/08 - As version 4 but with a transparent scroll highlighter (looks good). If you have the large icons showing on each screen then V5 is not for you as the large mid screen icons will dissapear. if you do then use V4 and download Pama's transparent slider(which itself may not work if you use the CAll history /callendar tabs) See post #42 for full details

Version 3 - 19/Sep/08 - At the request of user 'skizZO' Now includes Icon for Calendar tab, with relevant Manila files edited - *Important* You must already have the Calendar Tab enabled for this to work. If like me you do not have a Calendar tab available then you can get a CAB file to install one by searching this site. Also at the request of the user 'timoline' i have Inverted some of the icons so that they all face the same way(Don't know why i didn't think of that! Thanks!)

The Call history - Messages - Email - Internet - Photos, and Weather icons i made myself using various downloaded icon files and a bit of 'cut and paste' wizardry. The Home - Contacts - Calandar and Music icons are files i downloaded without any editing. For the Settings and Programs tabs i used icons supplied by MRE-net(thanks again)

In my opinion they look great on the Diamond.

I don't use the Email tab which is why you won't see it in the screenshots, but there is an Email icon included in the CAB. I'm not %100 convinced with the Music icon, but i couldn't find another one that i feel fits better, i'll change this if i find a better one.



I particularly like my Weather Icon, took me ages to find and then Paintshop it to my requirements. It's amazing how hard it is to find good 3D weather icons!!

To install simply- Disable TF3D
Install CAB (Automatic soft reset will occur)
Enable TF3D
And you're done!!

*** If you are updating versions don't forget to uninstall any previous versions of the CAB first!!! as the new CAB won't overwrite the old one***

Just curious as to if anyone else has had the Calendar Tab invisible/clear after running cab. I'm running an HD manila ROM and the Icon for the Calendar does not show unless the slider is over it. Any ideas on how to fix?

The calander icon does not show on the slide bar. Only an empty spot shows where the icon should ben. When i click the empty spot. I shows the icon.

Is there anyway to fix this ?
