ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID while trying to upgrade to WM6.1!!!

What's wrong? I've tried different update files but they don't work
Please help,

Just to be sure, do you have a Kaiser?
Do you have HardSPL installed?

In three color screen it says KSIS130 and then SPL_1.93.000, CPLD-8
In fact It's not a locked phone that belongs to any provider! How come I should Install another SPL?

Had to ask about the Kaiser, had someone with a Treo trying to use Kaiser Hard SPL the other day :)

You need to Flash one of the hard SPLs before you can flash ROM's from another carrier. The Hard Spls have the CID (carrier ID) check removed which allows this.

:) What I don't understand is that why my phone is locked? I first tried the HTC website update file, the some others from the links of XDA.
Sorry for stupid questions, I'm not really familiar with all these locking and bought my phone supposed to be without any lock! Could this be the agent of HTC desire?

All phones come CID locked, even the HTC ones, it means you can only flash ROM's made by the same manufacturer as the phone.
Your phone will probably be SIM unlocked meaning you can use any SIM card you like, but to flash a ROM with a different CID isn't possible without Hard SPL.

So the one I downloaded from their website must work right?
Yes it's SIM unlocked and works with everything.

I'm still looking for a proper time so that I can start operation on my phone! the big surgery :D

In fact I read different explanation for SPL and found that after I start with SSPL-KAIS.exe then I'll need to have the hard SPL.

What If I want one of the original ROMs from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Radio
Do I need to extract the SPL from one of the original files on the mentioned link? If not Which hard SPL?
And then can I just run one of the WWE shipped .exe files or again the new ROM file must be extracted and being installed?

Actually, you dont need to do HardSPL or CID unlock for ROM upgrading,.

Those thing are used to make a smoother ROM (remove white screen, freeze, etc),.

When i have my TyTN at the second day, i flash to WM.6, and all works well,.


Make sure that you have download Kaiser ROM,.

make sure you dont have any corrupted download,.



ps: until now, my TyTN never been CID Unlocked,. :)

No I'm even more and worse confused!!! I think Dave says that I need to Unlock the CID. However in some of the articles I think I read that to.
By the way none of the files I downloaded worked on my phone. Really I tried several, either from the HTC website or from XDA but same Invalid Vender ID comes to the PC displaye:confused:

Just flash one of the hard SPL 3.* by Jockyw2001 and all should be OK.
