Remote Access to Phone on Cingular

I am trying to remote access my phone on AT$T (Cingular). I thought at one time I was able to ping my phone from a desktop. But now I un unable to ping the phone nore is any remote access software working. Has anyone got this to work?

How are you connected?

3G, think I might have tried with Edge as well. Should that matter? I'm able to browse the internet from the phone, just can't remote into it from a PC on the net.

Unless you're using ISP.Cingular (ie: the expensive plan) you can't. The cheaper MEdia Net and such plans are behind a NAT and don't have a unique internet-facing IP address.
