Search this thread and you will find it.... there is a zip file some pages back with wvga icons you just unzip to your skins folder and you are good to go.

I'm trying to use this on my HTC Snap, since it says it supports QVGA. It installs fine, but I get that fatal exception error when I try to run it. There's no config file that I can see to delete, like other people have done to get it working. Can this program just not be used on a phone that doesn't have a touch screen?

I don't know if this is anything, but when I uninstall the program, the folder for the QVGA skin remains, although it's empty.

Since yesterday, I noticed that dailymotion streaming and downloading cannot longer be used via WVD... Am I the only one who have this problem or is this for everyone ? Please help me !!!

I also wondered if it‘s possible to add some other cool sites like veoh or the best of the best Wat-tv to the list that is full of pornsites (who doesn't work). Or if an application can allow meto watch their videos (please don't tell me Vtap, the buffering time is sooooo long ! and Skyfire have some audio/ video decalages and bugs )

This application is dead from what i see and all the porn sites dont seem to work so lets accept that no one is working on this and lets move on, unless someone proves me wrong but its been months sinceany progress has been made.

Hi guys i have downloaded this app but i still can't get it working on my phone..I think the problem is that i don't know how..I extracted the zip file, extracted it's content and created a new folder for it on my phone called Youtube, it is this folder that i pasted the content..I know i might be doing it wrong but can someone PLEASE explain the installation procedure..Thanks

For those of you having Fatal Exception errors just go into the program files/WVD folder and delete the config file. For me its an opera icon

It works very nice on my HD2 (TmoUS) and downloads and streams beautifully. Only thing is all the buttons at the bottom are really small and hard to click, but I'm still able to download videos.. This is such a great app!

Have u tried YOUTUBEPLAY 1.0.0.11? I think its the best youtube app around. Been using for over a year and never had 1 problem. It downloads and plays any youtube video plus will play any FLV FLV4 ON2 VP6 videos on your device and will even extract audio from and FLV file and save the audio as an mp3 file.

I think this app is dead unless someone else pics it up. JM81 has not made a post on the whole xda site since Dec 1 2009. He has moved on or maybe even died. Hope that is not the case but I am just being realistic. If you look at the thread on here that shows all the different updates for WVD it has the dates of each release and it never took this long for an update so I think its over till someone else develops something similar or helps figure out how to keep this going but I doubt it could happen without the source codes. Sad cause this was a great app.

All the WVGA skins that I found posted in this thread were a little too blurry for my taste.
So I sharpened the icons and changed the resolution to get proper spacing (the settings button was chopped off on the previous bars).
Unzip the attached zip file to get the WVGA folder. Copy this folder to the Skins folder in WMD.

Also created an cleaner hi res icon by modding the background image. Use an icon changing program to install.

- Search-Engine can't find existing Videos.
- Much Files cannot be extracted (Error).

**Note: I found that it requires you to rename each video downloaded, otherwise a "duplicate" will exist in the directory.

Sure, GetYTV works fine, but it's not a replacement for WVD by any stretch of the imagination.

The WVD concept was brilliant with the number of different sites it could handle.
It's just a shame it didn't work :(

WVD worked fine. It was all the different sites that kept changing paths, formats and other critera, making it difficult to keep up. And I am sure it is a bit more than just updating a path in an XML file. I have found the same issue with any free app that streams videos, TV or movies. I suspect the sites don't appreciate users taking advantage of their media without visiting their site, clicking through their ads, etc.

In a way, it makes sense. But I will miss WVD. :(

no other software has been as good as this so far. the problem is maintaining the code so when a website changes its code in the background a new .cab will need to be created and that takes sometime.

I got tired of waiting for a WVD update so I created a replacement app for my own personal use. :)

It only works with Tube8 right now. I have only tested it with Coreplayer, although I think it should work fine with TCPMP as well. It only supports streaming the video, not downloading. It allows for keyword search as well.

It runs fine on my Axim x51v running Windows Mobile 6.1. I have not tested it on any other hardware. If there is interest in it, I will likely post it up here for others as well. If there's enough interest, I would probably continue to improve it and add more functionality over time.

Here's a "blurred" screenshot to get a feel for the app.

I'll probably post some more details over the next few days.

It's sad that this app project has been abandoned. There are basically no applications out there as powerful as this.
Youtubeplay does the job of downloading one video at the time (with WVD you could use a WM downloader and do several at the same time) but it is not even half as good as WVD.
I wish someone with the "know-how" would jump on the code and develop it even as a paid app.
I'd be willing to pay for an up-todate application that is as good as this one.

I believe that the app surprisingly requires an early additional update. Up until now, I was able to successfully download many videos, but it was giving me an error message today. It was the same result regardless of 3G, wifi, and a reset. I sent an e-mail to the developer with hopes of feedback+update.

//edit// I was able to get in touch with the developer, and we exchanged a few e-mails. An update IS in the works actually heh. My problem was that a character [in my case, a colon ":"] was in the filename and popped up as an "error." Downloading via Browser Method specifically noted that instead. /falsealarm

Works well on HD2 and I love that you can download in high quality. The only problem is when the results are displayed, I can't can't scroll to see all results. I can only access the first 2 videos.

anyways i have used it before and i just wish it could convert to mp3, you could have it all in one.

Just go to "Search This Thread" at the top of the page and enter vga skin. The fix will make the icons large enough to use without a stylus. Works fine on my 2.8" VGA Fuze.

Apart from those two subjects, this thread is dead, as the application no longer works. You can install it on a Windows Mobile device and it will run, but all of the server-side content locations will fail, so you can't actually find / view videos.

I downloaded the newest version today (1.3FIX2), but when I choose Download it won't show me any formats as which I can save the video, and if I just tap Download I get : Format/Filename can't be empty.
But there is no way to fill in the format...
I have OmniaPro GT-B7610 WM6.5.
