I am a US TMobile subscriber, and here's what I know:
TMobile has only released 3G in a handful of cities, including NY, Vegas, and Houston (or maybe it was Austin).
Tmobile US runs on UMTS 1700/2100.
The Euro version of the Diamond runs on UMTS 900/2100. However, this 2100 band is supposedly "different" and will not run on TMobile US.
And the US version of the Diamond runs on UMTS 850/1900, which is what AT&T uses, and that won't work on the TMobile 3G network.

Long story short: no you won't get 3G with TMobile.

Great, could you please post the screenshots as well as your ROM version?

Dimond supposedly supports 1700 so not all is lost I think.

I'm sure if it's true, we'll get more confirmations to back him up.

I just got my "US version" and it's WCDMA 850/1900...

And I can see "G" icon coming up in "some" place.
But most of time, I only can get "E"....

I am sure my city already got T-mobile 3G service,
Because my friend who got a T-Mobile NOKIA 5610 ( 850/2100 ? )
His phone can always get a "G" coming up, and we tested the up/down speed
it's 153 / 42 kbps something.

I really want to know how to make mine working.

G is actually bad, it means GPRS not even EDGE (E) and the speed you posted is way to low for the 3G which should be a few MBPS actually.

Victor, the "G" is GPRS, not 3G. "E" is EDGE, which is a bit faster than GPRS.

I got G... but when I went to the info on top it didn't say GPRS... it said T-Mobile 3G...

I have a htc diamond 3700 DIA100.

Same as above post, I get G sporadic around philly, but it says 3G not GPRS in the info.

I think that's just the name of the data network. Your actual data connection would have a 3G icon if it were 3G.

I don't think the WCDMA work on 3G networks. Different technology. I also don't think the regular US GSM phone will work on the tmobile network. Different wireless bands from AT&T...

I don't think any of the Diamond (US/Euro version) will work with US T-Mobile 3G, only PDA phone that I am aware of is the SonyEricsson X1 with 1700/2100 band.

WCDMA is the air interface used by UMTS & HSDPA so it is what we need/use for 3G on AT&T (and T-Mobile - just on a different frequency.)

On all WM phones I've owned I've never seen the choise of choosing UMTS or HSDPA in phone settings. You always get either AUTO, GSM (straight GSM or EDGE) or WCDMA (UMTS or HSDPA). And, when choosing WCDMA I will get HSDPA (as long as I'm in an area with it, of course.)
