Hi all,
I've just Recieved a second hand Kaiser. I can use it w/o any issue but the PIN and PIN2 are not default ones, I have no idea what they are. (thank god the "Require PIN when phone is used" option is not selected)
now there is only one attempt remaining and I feel that if I got it wrong, sth horrible will happen(permanent lock or sth else?:eek:). I know that if I dont touch the PIN settings, nothing will happen, but I can't make sure that my friends won't, accidently. Simply flash a new ROM or hardrest doesn't help removing the PIN~
Could someone tell me how to remove the old PIN plz? help!!!! Thanks a lot.

Try a reflash of the ROM; i've heard of this on the ATT forums and if i recall correctly, a reflash fixed things.

PIN relates to a SIM card NOT the phone or ROM. If you enter wrong PIN code 3 times in a row, the SIM card will be burned out.
Only the service provider (aka carrier) can give you the PIN. In case you don't know the old PIN, they will give you PIN2 to reset.
Another easy method: ask your carrier replace the SIM card then they will give you the PIN and of course, you can change it to your desired number.

@Kareem
Thanks for your kind suggestion but I've tried reflash ROMs and I think that doesn't help.
@Nghiem
Ok, that explains everything. I'm just too worried that my phone may get locked. I think now I can stop worrying, can't I? ;)

I went into the o2 shop and got a 3G sim to replace my 2g sim with no problems, they just gave me a new sim there and then. Same number and everything.

I'm currently using the O2 PaynGo with free text bolt ons. Do I still get the free texts after replacing with a 3G sim?

If you log into your AT&T account, they offer support tutorials for your particular devices, one of which refers to sim/puk unlock. check it out.

You would have to ask O2, no idea ;)
