I want to use a larger SD card. Can I simply just copy the contents off the 4gd SD over to the 8gb SD and still have those program which ran from the SD not be affected (ie. TomTom7, games, etc. are on my xv6800)?
I am not certain if the device looks at SD card ID, card name, etc. that could be a mismatch if I switched cards...
Thx
Mod Edit: Moved from Titan Upgrading

as far as I know, you should be fine. UNLESS, that memory card is one supplied by iguidance (from what I've read). Otherwise, you should be ok. But if your phone only reads 4gb, see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1766401&postcount=93

In a word... yup.
I did exactly that about 3 weeks ago. Radio Shack sells the Sandisk 8gb microsdhc w/ usb reader for $59.

you wont have any issues. i did this a while back when i picked up my 8 gig to replace my 2 gig. just copied everything right over and had no issues. now i use my 2 gig for storing backups of radio and rom images.
