Diamond disconnects during HardSPL update

Hi!

I just got myself a Diamond and im trying to upgrade it. I've read the following tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211 but the Upgrading to HardSPL doesnt work for me.

When RUU starts updating, the screen on my phonescreen turns black (as it should do) but at the same time it disconnects from the computer and the program. :confused: and the phone freezes and i have to take out the battery and reset it. I've tried to repeat it many times, i also changed the power settings and everything.

I have ROM version: 1.93.413.3 SVE and Radio: 1.00.25.05 and Iam trying to update to SwiftBL

After your screen turns black, don't flash the SPL yet.
Wait a while till you pc detects the "new" device and installs drivers for it.
If you have still troubles, PM me and we can do it together ...

erm im on vodafone wiv the vodafone rom thing and i tried puttin a different rom on but it does'nt move past 0%
so i tried that olinex thing and thats not helpd either
stil stays at 0%
any tips? let me knw please

I have the same problem as stated above..

Screen turns black..

Phone gets disconnected from pc..

Windows is found a new hardware device and is asking for a hardware install..

Hardware Install Fails and phone remains disconnected with a black screen..

WHAT TO DO NOW..?????

I'm afraid of disconnecting my phone, because of the chance ending up with a brick.

Can someone please help me out..???

It happened to me before. For me it was due to the advanced battery setting.

I resolved it by unchecking "turn off device if not used for.." on both battery and external power. Hope this helps.

Nope this does not help..

My phone goes black and dissconnects from the pc and does not reconnect..
Get a connection error from the hardspl update program and have to remove battery to restart phone

Doe anyone have an idea what i am doing wrong..???

I've found a solution to my problem.

First of all i unchecked all the battery saving options, and then i went to Settings--> USB to PC--> and uncheck the "Enable advanced network functionality" box, after this the upgrade worked.

Hope this works for you guys 2

Not working for me here . Htc Diamond from H3G ITA .

I can't get past the black screen . Activesync disconnects and never connects again ... I tried the 2 settings changes proposed here ; I tried waiting almost 10 minutes on the black screen ....

Any other ITA H3G user with the same problem (maybe solved....) or any other user that got away with this huge problem ??

I put it in the root and executed it .... screen went black ... activesync lost connection ....................... after 20 minutes still black screen and nothing happened .

Fortunatly unplug battery and restart got me the pda back working


PS. If I enter the multicolor screen I see as SPL 1.37.0.0 and above it says DIAM100 ..... if any of this info could help to get me more help

I believe that is what will happen. I used this method to install 1.40.

After you get the black screen just follow instructions from step 2 in here:

Ignore the activesync turning green part.

The small words in the red box is easy to miss out. :)

had a similar problem...upgrading to the latest version of .net CF did the trick for me....u might want to check that out (nothing to lose in having an updated version anyway)

Tnx a lot catpuke ... I tried to run the update anyway even with no sync with pc .... it stayed to 0% for a little bit and then jumped to 100% .... now in tricolor shows 1.30 Olinex !

Will move on and try to update radio now !
